Well when you live in urban areas where your only internet option is satellite or dial up then the decision is pretty clear.

A pity that big day1 patches are a thing know, that's one big negative that undermines physical copies

Digital:
If you're acct is hacked or banned - all is gone.

Physical:
If you're house is on fire or rob, all is gone.

I like physical but digital is a great alternative to have when the game I want is sold out.

Ive always been physical only. I like to have the disc. I have hundreds of games going back to PSOne, (well SNES carts too) and over a thousand Blurays.

But, since external HDD support has come for PS4, and I believe that console generations are going to be phased out and all new consoles going forward are going to have to be backwards compatible, I am warming to the idea of digital games. I hardly lend games and I trade them even less.

They are still way too expensive. I only get them when they are on a sale, but I am picking some up here and there and slowly filling up my 4tb drive. They need to be cheaper as they are usually cheaper to get physical and that shouldnt be the case. I really hope we will be able to take our games forward to the next machine too or it will be for nothing.

Theres room for both. I prefer physical over digital, but digital definitely takes a lot less space...

I prefer physical. But, the benefits of physical over digital would be even higher if it wasn't for the fact that on these current gen consoles, the disc still installs 50+ gbs of data to the system since the games are too large and can't be read fast enough. So, whether you have physical or digital, you still have to give up a butt load of space to play these current gen games. I don't think I see a change happening in the future in regards to this either.

I personally prefer physical. Theres nothing like going to pick up your copy of a certain game, and getting to socialize with other gamers, and discuss what we all are personally excited to expierence with "Said" game before we receive are copy, is always a great & fun time!

It's usually a toss up between what games I get physically or digitally depending on which is offered for the better deal at the time

i buy physical i don't like digital due to drm and or publishers shutting down servers

people who like digital are buying a license and now UBI is doing always online with single player meaning down the road our games could become unplayable

i don't know but the aspect of owning something physical has always meant more to me but everyone have their own preference

Disagree. I've been all digital since the launch of Xbox and PS4. I hate discs. They're slow, they scratch, they take up space and they feel old fashioned to me now. Never had a problem being all digital and don't really see changing going forward. People used to say the same thing about music cds and we saw where that went.

Any games that i can buy physical, i will buy physical. It has advantages over digital in ways such as i can use the case for display (such as persona 5's magnificent steel case) and i can sell it back whenever i finish it or get bored with it.

I love physical , I am old so maybe that is why. I like the pile of games but my wife hates it. Sometimes if I can't wait or didnt preorder physical I will go digital, but it is rare

Physical all the way for me. I don't wanna be downloading 40-50 GB games with my crappy internet.

Love owning my physical copies of games including music,which sometimes I share among my friends.

I buy all my multiplatform games digitally on steam. Haven't had any problems. I only buy my PS4 exclusives and Nintendo games on physical media

Unfortunately the future of gaming for every company except Nintendo will be a Netflix style game streaming service.

Fortunately for those of us who prefer physical media, that future is still a long ways off. There are still some very serious technological hurdles to overcome. However, companies like Sony and MS are already laying the ground work for the gaming industry of tomorrow.

Physical Ownership.

Nothing is better for the consumer investment.

I still prefer a physical copy for AAA games. I like digital for small games though.

And always will be.

I don't mind digital free stuff, but for puchases they must be tangible.

I don't trade my games.. so I have all my games ready to play at all times, no clutter in my media center and no worry about a damaged disk.. plus new games are only a click away..

So yeah.. you do you, but physical isn't better then digital in my world.

The only reason I find it better is because of that new game smell. Trading in your games has always been a gigantic ripoff. I have friends that had massive collections keep trading handfuls of games to get at most, 2 new games... Just to repeat that process until they have almost nothing...

I will always prefer physical when it comes to console. On PC I primarily buy through Steam so either way is fine although if they had physical I'd go that route. The idea that the lack of an internet connection for whatever reason would keep me from playing my purchased games is always at the forefront of my mind so give me a disc please.

I've always liked physical media but lately I have been converting to digital. The ease of use and convenience is just fantastic.

I figure I'll use gamefly for physical games I just want to try and for games I really like I'll buy them digital.

Passwords, damaged HDDs, necessary internet, etc.. I will never go full digital.. I already miss having complete games at launch without the need for patches and DLC..

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
