Mass Effect Andromeda Retail vs Patch 1.05 Animation Comparison

It seems Bioware has been working hard on updating Mass Effect Andromeda. With latest patch 1.05 devs manage to repair some of the facial animations, but that’s not all what this patch can do. Let’s look closely what changes can we expect in prepatched game.

It's a good start. This game should have been delayed for sure.

DarkOcelet3327d ago

Me too, especially since there are much better/polished games on the market right now.

Artemidorus3327d ago

Both your losses it's a great game

AndreR3327d ago

its the new standard. If a big game is releasing, Wait and buy it later. I am glad that i didnt buy the switch at launch. because i want to play the best version of zelda as possible.

TheKingKratos3327d ago

Watching the video make my face tired.

Slowbro3327d ago

Waiting until it goes on sale or price drop...used would work too.

_-EDMIX-_3327d ago

Agreed.

@Art- "Both your losses it's a great game"

Well....they are saying they would rather "delayed" buying it, still means they are buying it, just not now as to not play it at a bad state.

I agree with both and I'm doing the same. Why should I put Persona 5 and Horizon on hold to play a game that has a list of issues? Mass Effect will still exist in 3 months bud.

I'm still buying it, but I have other games to finish that are clearly in working order with no real issues that would hurt my playthrough.

Why should my run be of the unpatched buggy version?

drbunny3327d ago

yup i still plan to get it but after the patches, but why would i ruin my experience with the game in its buggy state when i can wait till its patch and finsih some of the other games i havent beaten/ played yet in the mean time.

I'm agree with you. And yes, I bought a game and played it. It's a great game, but it should be more polished in the first place. I'm just glad to see Bioware supporting the game.

nowitzki20043327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

Im just getting into it and it seems like a good ME game to me. The animations actually make me want a f2p ME like sw TOLR.

_-EDMIX-_3327d ago

Buddy, I'm glad to hear its a great game.

I wanted to get this at launch, but just had to cancel my preorder (our Amazon account is just STACKED with orders from the last 7 months lol)

Just too many games coming out and I just felt it made more sense for me to just focus on what I already had vs buying a game I knew had issues.

I'll still get it, just not now.

Lynx02073327d ago

And how is it storywise? Is it worth to buy only for the story or is it just another generic sf?

mysterious_warrior3327d ago

Its not their loss @ Artemidorus. Its smart for them to wait for a COMPLETE fucking game

_-EDMIX-_3327d ago

Agreed.

I was happy to see EA delay it as it was a bold move by them to do so, I'm just saddened to see them cave in and release it in this state knowing it had issues.

They could have really been the real MVP this gen with a HUGE turn around if they just delayed it to fix those issues.

Sure, folks may have not liked the story, but most of what i've read about this game is solid. The combat is the best in the series, the RPG features are the MOST in any other Mass Effect game, they had a lot going for them and those bugs, glitches, animation issues, voice syncing just killed them.

They could have really went many directions with this game and they really blow it. I would have been 100% fine with a delay if ti mean't we got a proper functional game.

The criticism should have been left to the game features itself, but its clear the bulk of this games bad scores are based on all those laundry list of issues.

MadMax3327d ago

Gameplay itself is awesome! People are making a bigger deal than they should about the animations. Doesn't bother me at all.

GameBoyColor3327d ago

it's part of the immersion for me, sure I would get a good laugh at how bad it is, but I don't want it to be bad and be jarringly different then the rest of the game.

InMyOpinion3327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

I would have been more upset if the voice acting was bad, which it fortunately isn't. Enjoying the game very much.

Although none of this should be there to begin with for a first patch it gives some hope. Pretty extensive if you check the patch notes.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast483d ago (Edited 483d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul483d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow482d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake482d ago (Edited 482d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro482d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast524d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine524d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast524d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman524d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast524d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein559d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics559d ago (Edited 559d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac559d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992559d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX559d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9559d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne559d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast559d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne559d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog559d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay559d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000559d ago (Edited 559d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon559d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT559d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon559d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139559d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein559d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
