Nope. I play multiplayer games on PC just fine. Console fanboys always try to paint this terrible picture but it just isn't true.

Bennibop3343d ago

Sorry but that is rubbish , online pc gaming has lots of cheats and hacks which has totally ruined some games for me and others and is a really issue.

Fishy Fingers3343d ago (Edited 3343d ago )

Played PC games for several decades. Can honestly say I've only ever experienced 'hackers' a handful of times.

Stick to official servers with anti cheat etc and rarely is it an issue. Just the internet (and uneducated) being a drama queen.

Thunder_G0d_Bane3343d ago

Starchild is right.

I play all my multiplats on pc. I don't see any issues with hackers or cheats. Console fanboys trying to just put it down.

lelo2play3343d ago

If Bungie are hard on cheaters as Blizzard (Overwatch), there wont be that many cheaters on PC.

Kokyu3343d ago

They arent it takes several weeks of complaints before console lag switchers get banned and then is usually just a week.

Derceto3344d ago

If "hackers" (and I use that term loosely) were to being a constant nuisance on PC, we surely would not have anymore online PC games. After 25 years of online games? Nope, PC still looks to be going strong.

Way to try and cast that doomsday cloud though. Never seen that before. >.>

PS. Consoles have plenty of cheaters as well. Either through packet adjustments, RTM mods, or various other methods. Yet here we are today. Online games don't look to be slowing down anytime soon.

Cmv383344d ago

I think the wuestion spills be better framed, will bungie police cheating properly on pc? I don't think so. I don't think they care much about the pc side of things.

bluefox7553344d ago

As long as everything is server side it should be fine. Diablo 3 does online fine on PC, but has rampant cheating on the console version.

COMMENT-OF-THE-YEAR3344d ago (Edited 3344d ago )

Diablo 3,2 and 1 all had cheating. If you got to Google or YouTube and type PC cheats for Diablo 3 your will find plenty. Just as you will with almost any multiplayer game for PC. You will also probably find some for consoles but to a lesser extend and which are harder to deploy as well.

PC has had 2 major issues that keeps plaguing it's community from receiving the same treatment from Triple A studios which are Piracy and Cheating. This is why Consoles tend to get the beneficial treatment over PC. Not on all games.. but most.

bluefox7553343d ago (Edited 3343d ago )

No game is 100% immune to cheating, and yes, it was a massive problem in Diablo 2, but they've largely taken care of it in Diablo 3 PC version. I own both versions, and cheating is simply absurd on the console version, it's not just dupes or random hacks, it's characters with literal god mode that 1 hit kills everything in the game. It's so bad that rather than join random games, many people meet up on forums with other players that wish to abstain from cheats. Cheating is far worse on the console version, I understand this varies from game to game, but Diablo 3 is one example where consoles have it worse.

no, they will not if they put in a good anti-cheat then the game will be fine but what they should be worried about is if PC gamers will play it for more than a week because we don't take the same bull crap as console only gamers.

COMMENT-OF-THE-YEAR3344d ago (Edited 3344d ago )

So your logic is they won't find ways to cheat if a good system is put in to place. That's ass backwards. A good Anti-Cheat systems will most likely be put into place because they know PC players will cheat with Aim-bots..and various other tools and tricks. Not all, But some. Also not a very good example as most the online games on PC still have readily available cheats for them which is bull-crap and is still an issue.

We are all games. It's just with a closed system and security you get better support from developers as they spend the better part of 3 to 5 years working on a game and want to get the best bang for their buck. If the game is good why shouldn't and why wouldn't they do it on a platform that doesn't run the risk or piracy and cheating.

starchild3343d ago

You're clearly an anti-PC, console fanboy and you're greatly exaggerating the prevalence of cheating on PC. Millions of people play online PC games everyday. There are ways to deal with cheaters. And it isn't as if there aren't cheaters on consoles too.

COMMENT-OF-THE-YEAR3343d ago (Edited 3343d ago )

I also play games on PC. I have a Rog Laptop and Built my own gaming rig desktop so... I'm just being realistic and pointing out some reasons why I don't think PC is all that great. There are also great reasons to play on PC... but piracy and cheating are to things that plagues PC for developers and gamers a like. Deny it or belittle it all you want but we all know from CSGO to Diablo 3 to Overwatch and more etc. it happens. More so than on consoles as consoles are closed systems and are harder to create hacks for.

Also, It's easy to paint someone a fanboy but that just shows your incompetence to accept other peoples knowledge or opinions on your selected platform. First thing you probably shouldn't do is try to put them in a box. It's childish and people are more dynamic then that. It's like a kid screaming "MOMMY, The bad man spoke bad about my game platform!" I CAN"T CONTROL MY EMOTIONS! LABEL THE BAD MAN!

Kokyu3343d ago

You dont need an aim bot for Destiny the Aim assist perks like hidden hand and others do just fine.

Honestly Thank Goodness!! Yet another good sign of a possibility of returning to what made them great and undoing Jim Tyans trend chasing love service gamble. Still gotta wait and see just what direction they're going but this is a good sign in my book that they're not betting it all on live service anymore

S2Killinit112d ago (Edited 112d ago )

Not sure what you lot are talking about anymore. They need to cover all range of games. Im primarily a single player gamer, but even I cannot be daft enough to ignore the fact that we need all manner of games including live service games. Everyone here seems to be a market expert.

isarai_lee112d ago (Edited 112d ago )

Yes "all manner" not just exclusively live service like Jim was doing, but you also shouldn't be forcing devs to make games they not only have no experience making, but also flatout dont want to do.

S2Killinit112d ago

Assuming that anything like that is actually the case and not just a perception of n4g commenters of course.

Redemption-64112d ago

I don't understand why you people have to keep making up lies. You can say you don't like some or most of their focus being on live service games, but to say they were exclusively focusing on live service games is pure copium. At most half of their games were live service and the rest were single player games. Seriously why lie about something so obvious?

isarai_lee112d ago

@Redemption-64

You say that as if we don't have word directly from Jim Ryan and PlayStation stating they wanted at least 12 live service games released within a year. Followed by tons of official word of those Live Service games being cancelled after he was pushed out. All studios combined at the time PS had 15 studios, 12 is a hell of a lot more than half of 15, and it was definitely their primary focus evident by the fact that a huge portion of their studios have taken uncharacteristically long to release or announce anything since, hell some studios have yet to release anything this gen almost 6 YEARS LATER! The only one making stuff up is you.

It may take a while but maybe they are finally learning. Good! Now stop with the live service crap.

ABizzel1113d ago

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a live service here or there, but to have many of your studios start focusing on it when there has been little to no experience among them was wild.

Christopher113d ago (Edited 113d ago )

They say this and then immediately release news of the Horizons co-op game that will definitely be a Live Service game.

isarai_lee112d ago

I feel like they knew that given the fact that the very furst thing they say in the trailer is to reassure they still make so games 😆

Bet they're regrettings spending those billions pretty hard right now.

S2Killinit112d ago

Destiny has been a huge success.

Redemption-64112d ago

They will not. Destiny has been popular for over 10 years, something most games can never hope to achieve. Most people, including myself those Bungie was going to make a D3 after the final shape DLC. Marathon looks to be a hit and a D3 announcement could break records.
