First they need to purchase Bungie back and give them creative freedom.

Second: have Scorpio run a version of windows 10 that will play all PC games.

Third: Have a payment plan to be able to afford it . The thing will be expensive so work a deal with stores to allow small payments to purchase Xbox Scorpio.

1) More interesting and diverse IPs
2) Become the default multiplatform box
3) Become a global brand
4) More XPA titles

Succeed? Have an entry level Scorpio at $399, have the ability to make all games in the Xbox library, regardless of party look better. If Scorpio becomes the go to for all multi's because it looks better while playing the same it will succeed. If for instance I'm playing madden 18 or whatever COD is out and it looks like they patched it to look better than the X1, PS4, PS4 pro and taking advantage of what's under the hood it will succeed all while still being able to play it on the X1 without the bells and whistles it will sell and sell well. Outside of that I can't see the purpose in purchasing one.

Only if it has a game that is at least close to Last Of Us, Uncharted,Horizon... but we now that it will not happen. Thingis everybody knows this will be next gen xbox at some point. It is stupid thing to see it as ps4pro compared to ps4. Every "older" gamer knows that it will be next gen xbox. It is same as the first xbox again

No matter how powerful Scorpio is claimed to be if developers can't use it because of original xbone specs then it's just a waste of time. I assume that the software will be similar to ps4, ps pro in scalability time will tell.

I think it has allot going for it even if Microsoft can't do something about the exclusives. All multi platform games will look better then on PS4Pro.

XBO has allot of backwards compatible games now and they could look better on Scorpio.

And then there's the new game subscription service. As someone who has been on PlayStation this generation it's one hell of a kickstart to allot of games.

Exclusive games are important and some of the best games I've played are exclusives and on the PlayStation. But with most games being multiplatform it's highly interesting to make Scorpio my main console in the time ahead.

It needs games, and young blood that love video games, running the brand. Those old folks running the brand, clearly don't know what the hell they're doing. Canceled games, closed studios, lack of new IP's, and creative freedom, the list goes on. They're so scared to take risks, it's ridiculous. Oh, and they need to stop putting their games on PC. It defeats the entire purpose of owning an Xbox.

1, Go back in time and stop the whole Xbox One Reveal/Disaster.

To be honest I was looking at getting a Scorpio as this Gen i have still to get an Xbox! But after the PS4 pro was in my eyes a big disappointment I think I will just invest in my PC instead. Plus the complete lack of new Ip's from Microsoft is a real off put.

"How"? Just do the same thing they have been doing the past two years except add more console exclusives....Maybe a few JRPG's to add a bit more diversity as well.

by doing this finally maybe the PS4 will have a worthy competitor, you know I missed the days when we had all the consoles that has similar performance and the only thing that differentiates from each other are the exclusives, and not braindead gimmicks like detachable controllers in a old hardware. :/

Take the name xbox out of it. It might have a chance of succeeding than. It was a shit name from the start anyway. Think about It, xbox just sounds dumb as hell.

Scorpio's success will depend on more than power. I'm against it, but it'd need timed exclusive content on popular games, maybe a Live discount, and just more consumer incentives. We consumers can be pretty bratty, but if you want our business, these are the hurdles necessary to restore faith in your product.

But even then, their direct competitor Sony just keeps pumping out great titles. Ultimately, that's why PlayStation has such a loyal following. Put simply. I don't think they're experimental enough.

I hope the Scorpio is all that and then some. Along with awesome software.
I'm a PS head and I have no problem saying that. Imo, we all should want it to do well, the industry will be better bc of it.

Look at what Sony has been doing and do that.

Games are always a thing. Realistically it needs mind blowing features. If the features are revolutionary enough, it'll succeed even with the relatively meager first party support we've had. Granted, the likely hood of these features happening are slim. They need to be backwards comparability big, and we need a few. If game sharing made it's way back without the BS? It would do very well for itself.

Phil's already said that he expects the base Xbox One to sell more than Scorpio, because the Slim and OG One are more accessible to consumers. Scorpio is what Pro is to the PS4, so success is just a matter of moving units within the market that wants a better experience, when compared to the launch XB1 and S.

All Scorpio really needs is to have games that use it's specs to provide a better experience, have an exhaustive list of patched games day one to show off the visual differences compared to base XB1 and S.
It wouldn't hurt for MS to actually have exclusives for the XB1 ecosystem and for them to be able to lean on Scorpio running the best versions of those and multiplats on consoles.

Price also shouldn't be higher than $449, even with a 4K Bluray player, 12GBs of GDDR5 at 320GB/s and a 6tflop Polaris/Vega GPU (nothing is hinting at a Ryzen CPU).

Microsoft has been in the software business for over 30 years and they still only want to monopolize instead of create game... for their gaming console.

I think it will appeal to those that want to do closer to PC gaming, but are too daunted by the task or price of building / getting a computer.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
