You can't dress up a turd. Admire their trying though. Bioware died when they sold out to EA - clear and steady decline. CDPR all the way babeh. And Guerilla Games for that matter.

thekhurg3332d ago

Game isn't that bad. It's just in a similar situation as Bethesda is. They're stuck about eight years in the past. Bioware needs a formula reboot just like Bethesda.

RememberThe3573332d ago

It is that bad though. The animation issues are more than clunky facial animations; it's random eye movements and facial expressions that are completely out of context, and it's in nearly every scene unlike Horizon which has just a few WTF moments. Plus, the voice acting (or casting) is sort of horrible too.

The game play though is really pretty good and the graphics are also really nice.

To me this seems like a pretty good action game with a crappy RPG attached to it. I'd say this games problems are less to do with formula than execution.

I'm probably being a little hard on the game but that can happen when you're not having fun.

mikeslemonade3332d ago

Meh no point in fixing it when all the people care have already bought the game and started playing it. But the time they fix it the people that actually care about the game have moved on to better games.

Armaggedon3332d ago

They arent stuck, its just that people want movie games. You cant get movie like quality and deep gameplay to mix.

TacticAce3332d ago

This website doesnt know the official word on what bioware will do and should be ignored. The official word on what bioware will be doing is on April 4th...

Jon615863332d ago

Have you even played the game? Its actually quite good once you get past these overblown issues. Gameplay is solid and fluid better than the past 3 thr amount of content is better. People say there are too many go here tasks etc. ALL RPGS HAVE THOSE TYPE OF TASKS. They are just dressed up differently. But it is still fo here kill tia claim reward.

Armaggedon3332d ago

Thats what I am saying. People keep worshipping the Witcher 3's quest, not realizing its the same crap, just with a cutscene attatched to them.lol

Armaggedon3332d ago

This game is far far from a turd. Its like people forgot what real bad games look like. The Witcher 3 was apparently so boring, that two of my friends could not even get past the first 10 minutes. They were able to get into Mass Effect though.

FlameWater3332d ago

I started Mass Effect from 2, this just confirms my intuition Andromeda was just a beta.

Sam Fisher3332d ago

As i said before you cant fix the animations simply, it a overhaul and it still wont fix everything. Look at alien colonial marines, 8 gb overhaul still shit. They just gonna move on sooner or later

Gwiz3332d ago

You'd need sorcery to fix Alien Colonial Marines.

pr talk. Placebo effect. Say the game is updated and really nothing is fixed. Doubtful anything can be fixed in terms of the game mechanics and animations.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast480d ago (Edited 480d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul479d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow479d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake479d ago (Edited 479d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro479d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast521d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine521d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast521d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman521d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast521d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

IAMRealHooman520d ago

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein556d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac555d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992556d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX556d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9556d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne556d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast556d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne556d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog556d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay556d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon556d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT556d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon556d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139556d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein556d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
