Sorry, I know it's not intentional, but I giggle-snorted at the thumbnail of the video. XD

ShadowKnight3349d ago (Edited 3349d ago )

It won't stay in 60fps in 4K on ultra settings unless I switch it to high settings with my msi gtx 1080.

iDadio3349d ago

Yeah even with the impress tech advancements lately it is still slightly out of reach to achieve max settings at 4K on stable frames. We are getting closer though very close

duplissi3348d ago

Well, the bar is pushed higher every year. Games use more and more intensive techniques, they don't just stay idle as GPUs become more powerful. It will likely be a few more years before we can comfortably play at 4k.

Elit3Nick3349d ago (Edited 3349d ago )

That's neat, I got the parts for my second rig coming in, which include an EVGA GTX 1080 Hybrid. I'm not really interested in 4K, but it'll max everything out at 120+fps at 1440p, I just need to get a monitor for that. :P

iDadio3349d ago

Very nice, I'm sat here on a 1060 like a charity case

Elit3Nick3349d ago

Don't touch me you filthy casual :P

GameBoyColor3349d ago

That's a cute blueberry shrek in the thumbnail

MadMax3349d ago

PS4 pro with hdr on is quite impressive on my 4k Samsung ks8000. This and horizon look ultimately the best so far on the consoles, with rise of the tomb raider and Uncharted 4 following right behind.

nveenio3349d ago

I don't have a Pro, so Uncharted 4 still looks best to me on my 65" 4k Sony with HDR.

TheKingKratos3348d ago (Edited 3348d ago )

Horizon offer nothing more than higher res and a little bit better AF on pro
the graphics setting remain the same on both....you are not missing any thing.

i would say both uncharted 4 and horizon look so damn real on base ps4+HDR

Rude-ro3348d ago

@Gamer4lifz
You would be off with your statement with horizon.
It offers more with better textures and texture filtering as well.
Not a huge difference, but you can watch the digital foundry comparison for all the notes.

TheKingKratos3348d ago (Edited 3348d ago )

I disagree, i did watch DF/NXGamer/Candyland/IGN and other face off and all of them point out that the game look the same on both with pro having better res and slight better textuer filtering and that's it and DF did confirm that
There is a reason most of the comment sections on youtube/sites saying they don't see any difference between the two while pro owners keep say you need 4ktv to notice the difference and even with 4k the difference is still very small.

GG did amazing job on both ps4s.

MadMax3348d ago

Believe me, do not go by what some are saying in here. They have not even played it for themselves. The pro paired up with a good 4k hdr tv looks incredible! Playing a game like horizon on the pro in 4k, makes a standard PS4 game look last gen. It's definately a leap and step above. Anyone that says there is no difference between the two horizon versions is full of it.

Wow, checkerboarding isn't even close in some areas, like the wispy energy coming off of Ryder at the 5:00 mark. It looks more like 900p upscaled to 4K.

Of course people will still say that checkerboarding is close to Native 4K. Lol!

iDadio3349d ago

Let me guess, your messiah the Xbox Scorpio will be true native 4K and the solution to all the worlds problems.

I wouldn't even consider myself a regular on N4G but I can always rely on you to be in the comment section being the most biased member sat comfortably nuzzling on MS teat

TheCommentator3349d ago (Edited 3349d ago )

Let me guess, you don't see the difference between them? Or are you too ignorant to look because you'd prefer to comment about the products I like? Either way, it's sad.

TheCommentator3349d ago

How about somebody does a comparison of PS Pro vs. XB1S upscaled and we can put the issue to rest?

iDadio3349d ago

I don't have a PS4 so your assumption is sadly wide of the mark. My comment comes from a general observation and I checked this article out for curiosity. Just seems a bit off that you sell the Scorpio dream and troll Sony articles as some form of brand justification.

Then again if I had no games to play I would probably be as active on here as you

TheCommentator3349d ago

I didn't say anything about Xbox until you brought up the subject. If you recall, this article is about comparing the >PC< at 4K to the >Pro< with checkerboarding. That's what I did. I can't help you any further than to point out where there is dramatic defference between the two, and everywhere else it still just looks blurry.

Seriously, you call me a troll with comments like yours? You haven't said one thing about the topic yet. Anything else you want to say about Xbox (or my preference in consoles) in an article that has nothing to do with Xbox?

Dark_Knightmare23348d ago

Yeah let's listen to some nobody on the internet and ignore actual reputable sources like digital foundry lol gtho

TheCommentator3348d ago

It only requires a pair of eyes to see how bad the Pro looks at the 5:00 mark. It's hard to look if you put your head in the sand though...

MadMax3348d ago (Edited 3348d ago )

Play it in person on a good 4k tv and then judge it. All these video comparisons online aren't even close to what you're seeing in person, trust me. I thought the same until I tested it out for myself and boy was I wrong!

TheCommentator3348d ago (Edited 3348d ago )

That's not true. It's just like 900p has to be compared to 1080p side by side to really see the difference. The difference is always there, but it's not noticeable enough to be seen without a direct comparison. Only a fool would try to deny the obvious difference in the side by side comaprisons. What is the point of a comparison if it can't be trusted to show a difference? How could a comparison make only one of the systems look worse? When has anyone ever argued that XB1/PS4 comparisons made the XB1 version look worse than it actually is? Why wouldn't the format of the comaprison make both platforms worse in the same ways, thus keeping the comparison fair?

All you're doing is damage control and denial when you just need to accept the truth and move on. I am fine with XB1 not being powerful enough to run 1080p, and I enjoy all my games just fine at lower resolutions. If it looks good to you, enjoy the Pro's checkerboarding, but don't try to tell me that it's the same as native 4K because it clearly isn't.

There are times, like at the 5:00 mark, where it's so obviously different and there are MOST other times where it just looks bluury compared to 4K, but the difference is much more subtle. Most people won't care about resolution because it doesn't make that much of a difference in the experience overall... something "Xbox fanboys" have been defending for the entire generation. You know what "sony fanboys" always used as evidence? Video comparisons just like this one, yet I never heard anyone say, " it looks better than that on my console! Seriously... Pro still looks great, just not native 4K great just like XB1 still looks great, just not 1080p great. Pretty simple, really.

Deal with it and move on, because the difference between checkerboard and native 4K will not go away. EVER

ShadowKnight3348d ago (Edited 3348d ago )

You're so right about that. It looks way better on my 4K Tv (Especially with HDR on)!!

MadMax3348d ago (Edited 3348d ago )

I think you're reading into it too much, and over analyzing. I guess you know more than the developers and experts. The difference is so frikin minimal. Let's face it, checkerboard 4k is pretty much the same as native 4k, and you're not gonna notice any difference unless your analyzing it under a magnifying glass, so maybe you're the one that needs to move on here. That's just a fact. I swear, there's always one of you in every crowd.

TheCommentator3348d ago (Edited 3348d ago )

Fine, don't look at the 5:00 mark, dumbass. It's not always, " pretty much the same"...

I already said under most circumstances it just looks blurry compared to native 4K(pretty much the same), and that side by side comparisons were they only way to tell the difference. It's the same difference as 900p vs. 1080p, but that didn't stop Ponies like you from defending your superior resolution for 4 fucking years like it was the end of the Xbox forever.

God, you guys are stupid.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast491d ago (Edited 491d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul490d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow490d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake490d ago (Edited 490d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro490d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Mass Effect Companion Tier Ranking

One of the best things about the Mas Effect series is the companions you meet along the way. So here is a tier list of all the companions from Mass Effect!

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast532d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine532d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast532d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman532d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast531d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein567d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics567d ago (Edited 567d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac566d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992567d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX567d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9567d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne567d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast567d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne566d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog566d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay567d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000567d ago (Edited 567d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon567d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT566d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon566d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139567d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein567d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
