Hate

I'm actually loving the game. I don;t know what people where expecting, but it's nowhere as bad as the media hype is making out.

zaherdab3336d ago (Edited 3336d ago )

The if it's not perfect it's bad syndrome ... if game is either a 10-8 or 8-0 no other categories

meka26113336d ago

That's cool that you like it, but this is one of those times where I think it does suck and I'm a huge mass effect fan. It's not just the animations for me; the voice acting is just bad, the dialogue is cringe inducing for me, and the combat feels too much like titanfall 2. I'm glad your enjoying it but just because the media says there are things wrong doesn't mean it's a bandwagon. I usually love games the media hates.

Unoriginalplayer3336d ago

Hmmm I must have picked up a different version of the game than you because the combat feels like Mass Effect....where do you find the version with Titanfall style combat?

meka26113336d ago

The jet packs and the movement feels more like titanfall or call of duty than it does with mass effect. It just feels more action oriented then tactical. That is fine as well, action is cool, but I wanted an RPG like in the old mass effects where you could pause the action and plan out your attack with your squadmates, that was a neccessity for the higher difficulties.

TheCommentator3336d ago

Exactly. Bioware has been on a steady decline with the quality of their titles sine the 2nd Mass Effect. The last Dragon Age was nothing to write home about, to say the least, but it was still better than Andromeda is. Bioware is not the same company anymore, and it shows.

Taking out the pause ability is just stupid too. It has been a hallmark of Bioware titles for a decade already and added a lot of benefits and style to the combat.

andrewsquall3336d ago

I think they were expecting a brand new next gen entry in this serie,s that is ready to kick off a new story with more games planned, a game that can go toe to toe with this gen's best like the series did last gen.

But that IS what we were expecting when the game debuted at E3 2015. When we/you saw it at the VGAs 2016, those expectations went straight down to bottom of the barrel garbage. So if its a little bit better than bottom of the barrel, I guess its better than you expected then, at least you have that.

But don't try and make it out like its up there with Uncharted 4 or Gears of War 4, 2 other games that went above and beyond on every level compared to their last gen counterparts.

andrewsquall3336d ago

We all saw it a mile away. Yet, of course, there are going to be plenty of people out there that say its "such a shock" how awkward and buggy the game turned out................... even though we've all been questioning its status since its proper reveal last Dec when the game was supposed to be finished and going gold right around the corner.

the people working on the game....

Its a fine game, I am happy with my purchase

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast478d ago (Edited 478d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul477d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow477d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake477d ago (Edited 477d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro477d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast519d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine519d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast519d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman519d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast518d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein554d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics554d ago (Edited 554d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac553d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992554d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX554d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9554d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne554d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast554d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne553d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog553d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay554d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000554d ago (Edited 554d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon554d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT553d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon553d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139554d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein554d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
