I agree and for me i would love this to happen. Look at Zelda and what they did with that now make Pokémon an modern open world game to wow. Also having Mario kart and Pokémon on the same console will = alot of sales for the switch and add super smash bros, metroid & Mario to that wow great lineup

But they should have done that 20 years ago. Imagine a Pokemon game in the late 90s that tried to come even a bit close to Final Fantasy VII level of visuals?
I don't see any reason whatsoever why they would start now.

Andrewsquall i see what your saying but if the switch is to be Nintendo's only console home/portable then they will put them games on it. Like i said it's still early days so only time will tell.

How??? Are they actually going to target 15 year old Gamecube graphics for this one instead of that awkward place we currently are with slightly better visuals than a N64 game?
"Blow minds", I just can't believe that. You do know the next main Pokemon game will still be coming to the 3DS also, like what happens every time a new Nintendo portable comes out? It happened when the 3DS came out too, the next Pokemon game still came to the DS also. It wasn't until the next one that they "BLEW OUR MINDS" with visuals slightly better than N64 visuals but nowhere near Gamecube levels.

I think Nintendo was saving Pokemon as their Trump card because it was their main income for their handheld systems. There are a lot of rumors that Nintendo will hold off on another Gameboy and use the Switch for this generation of mobile/handheld gaming. If the rumors are true, they will make a special Pokemon Switch (probably near the end of the life cycle for the switch though), to bring in sales before launching their next system.

The moment Pokemon goes mainstream for the consoles, no one will want to buy the handheld versions anymore, so Nintendo has to play their cards right so that they don't kill one of their main sources of income.

Making a game on the level of Breath Of The Wild will take a lot of time, so I don't expect the next pokemon to be on the Switch. If Nintendo decides to release another Pokemon on the 3DS (which should be the final series before the next system), then the one after that could possibly be for the Switch....

Unless of course, Nintendo reveals a new Gameboy soon. The DS came out in 2004, the 3DS came out in 2011. They are gearing up for something new soon. If I was Nintendo, I would hold off on the next Gameboy this Gen and force everyone to get a Switch instead for the next 5-7 years.

Except it won't be Sun & Moon.
There nothing to expand. Unless they want to go bizarre and have Pokemon Dimension be the next game that take place in the alternate dimension to where the Ultra Beast and Zinnia are from.

The current rumours are pokemon stars though, like a combination of sun and moon with extra stuff. Like pokemon platinum.

There are already found files for over world spirited etc!

It'd be the first Pokémon game with more than one profile on the console. One game on one NS with multiple profiles will drastically change the trading aspect of this franchise when people won't be as compelled to buy another version

If it is a traditional Pokemon entry you will probably only get one profile. You state one of the main reasons why it wont happen. Most games on 3ds and ds offer the feature it is clearly a design choice not a tech limitation

That won't happen. If Game Freak is bring main Pokemon game to Switch. They will make it so that only one save per accounts. Not only that it would also defeat the purpose of Pokemon Main game being Personal.

What happen when someone log into your account and use your Poke Bank to take your Pokemon.

That's exactly my point. With one cartridge/digital download you'd be able make multiple accounts on one Switch and then be able to trade Pokémon with other people with each account on that one console with that one copy of the game.

In laymens terms, one save per account. But you're able to make multiple accounts on one device which wasn't possible with Nintendo's past handhelds
