Nintendo Says Switch Not Facing Any "Widespread Technical Problems"

The Nintendo Switch was released one week ago today. It got off to a hot start, becoming the fastest-selling Nintendo console ever at launch. Its release hasn't been completely smooth, however, as there have been reports about Joy-Cons desynching and other issues. With any hardware launch, there are bound to be problems for some people, considering the sheer volume of units that get produced.

Now, Nintendo has released a statement regarding Switch support issues. In a statement to Time magazine (via NeoGAF), the company said the Switch is not facing any widespread problems. Issues that are being reported are being routed to Nintendo's Support staff to sort them out.

Marketing 101: if someone has an issue, they will be 10x more vocal about it than someone who doesn't.

DarthZoolu3391d ago

You don't have to market to Nintendo fans, give them Zelda and Mario .

This is also a company that says dead pixels on an lcd are supposed to be there and not a defect. You see what would happen if even 0.4%of a major cell phone consumer base had these problems they'd be apologizing out the ass and hella returns at the expense of the company.

@XisThatKid
Nintendo will fix your switch for free if you have dead pixels. It is weird that they released that statement when it goes against their own repair practises.

yet X360 had a lot of return units.
There has not been any reports of anyone returning their Switch.

shockwave4life3391d ago

Yeah I'm sure they would say that!! All u have to do is look online and see how many ppl are having problems! And trust me it's a lot!!! And no it's not just a couple of ppl like these Nintendo fanboys think it is

Immorals3391d ago

Well if Nintendo aren't recognising some of the issues that consumers are having as problems, then of course they would say this.

I have lost almost all respect I had left for Ninty with the switch, from the announcement, to the console itself and with the launch. Proving themselves the company stuck in the past they are, and that really sucks.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

Wrong they do recognize it. It just isn't something 10,000 owners or 5000 owners are having. It more than likely less than 1000 people.

There are going to be faulty Switch when they are being manufactured for launch if they have to speed up to meet launch date.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing56d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9256d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit56d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing56d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9256d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
