Good! If you want the game, buy it and support the developers.
F**k piracy.

GamingonPC3370d ago

Indeed. I'd rather have Denuvo, which doesn't hamper my experience as a legit costumer, than something else like the old Starforce days.

mikeslemonade3370d ago (Edited 3370d ago )

Nooooooooo. I wanted it for free. I forgot it was Square Enix. Screw them!

cleft53370d ago

This game will be hacked like the majority of other games with Denuvo on it and what is left is anti-tamper software that causes issues for legit buyers.

Oh and if Denuvo was so important to anti-piracy efforts than why doesnt Bethesda use it for Skyrim and Fallout 4? You know, those two little games that are the biggest selling titles in PC history. Perhaps you have heard of them. Ultimately, no one that was going to truly pirate this game is going to run out and spend $60 on it.

samden3370d ago

But F**k piracy at what cost to the consumer? This sounds like a rushed implementation and look what Denuvo did to Forza: Horizon 3 and pegging CPUs because it was trying to decrypt on a single core.

GamingonPC3370d ago

A ton of games use Denuvo on PC without having any performance problems (or at least not caused by the anti tamper solution)

AcidDvl3370d ago

Uhm, Forza Horizon 3 is so poorly optimized that high end machines like mine can't run it properly. Do you know how that's called? Incompetence from the developers. Their programmers should be ashamed for that.

I've got a ton of games that use Denuvo and never had a single problem running them from Denuvo's part.
My only complains stay with lazy developers.

cleft53370d ago

The issue beyond that is that Nier is going to be a niche game anyways. So no matter what, we werent going to see crazy sells for it, but now on top of that we get Denuvo which is notorious for being expensive anti-piracy software. So now, turning a profit just became that much harder. Simply perfect logic.

freshslicepizza3370d ago

denuvo is not to be blamed for forza horizon 3, it just is not very well optimized on the pc. the game was made for locked 30fps and trying to get it to run smoothly at 60fps is very difficult.

How about f**k companies that shovel out half baked s**t, and the drones that praise them for it instead? Sounds good.

GamingonPC3370d ago

Have you played NieR: Automata on PC? As far as I know, none of us have. You can't decide that a game is "half baked s**t" if you haven't tried it (or don't have reliable information confirming that)

Good day!

Paytaa3370d ago

A game that has been universally acclaimed and is sitting at a 90 metacritic is "half baked s**t". Someone hates good games

WhoEvenCares3370d ago

Pffffhahahahahaaaaa XD
You kids are funny. You don't seem to understand what piracy even is and where it comes from. Doubt not - those who are pirating because they just can MIGHT buy the game in the end. Those who have no money to afford entertainment in their 3rd world countries WILL NOT buy the game no matter if it's cracked OR protected by any sort of software.
It's a little ugly truth you people don't seem to like, but the one you'll HAVE to accept one way or another.

AcidDvl3370d ago

What? That's not what piracy is.
Piracy: "The unauthorized use or reproduction of another's work." -> The reason behind the act has nothing to do with the fact that the crime was committed nonetheless.

And that poor excuse that every one makes about being more of a demo, is a way to justify the crime.
Truth is more than 80% of the people who download illegally have no intention of purchasing the game, they just want them free period.

Punch club is a perfect example. The game has more than 2 million illegally downloaded copies but only 300k buys... It doesn't hurt their intellectual property right?

GamingonPC3370d ago

I live in a third world country, and I know that game prices are pretty crazy when it comes to regional stuff (games cost the same here as they do in the US, even though our economy has been in bad shape since forever)
You know what's the problem with that excuse for piracy? If you have a machine that can run a modern AAA title, then you should be able to pay for the game. Computers aren't cheap.
I've seen people with top end hardware who pirated games because they could, and if they went uncracked for more than a week, they were the first to buy them on Steam.

ShaunCameron3370d ago (Edited 3370d ago )

Stop being naive.

People pirate because they think they're entitled to what belongs to someone else using your examples as excuses to avoid getting it lawfully and legally (paying for it @ whatever price the producer decides). In short, they just want something at someone's expense.

What a shocker. DRM. SquareEnix. Never saw this coming.

See you in a couple weeks when it's cracked anyways.
