Yea, I wasnt going to buy it if it didn't come out on pc. I remeber gta 5 looking so blurry, jaggy, and 25fps laggy on 360/ps3 and it was just god awful lol.

I dont want to experience that again with Read Dead 2. Knowing rockstar they will push the consoles to the limit and cut corners on anti aliasing, resolution, and frame rates.

Bahamut3360d ago

That wouldn't happen with the current generation of consoles. Especially the PS4 Pro. Regardless, a PC port is good news, of course.

Glemt3360d ago

Ehm, why not? It's like that with every console generation, why would this one all of a sudden be different? Consoles don't grow along as PC does, and barely has as powerful hardware to begin with. True, a lot of games are optimised for consoles, but still limited to, for example, 25-30 fps, medium to high settings (compared to PC), and poorer aliasing. So why would this generation all of a sudden be something magical?
Personally, I wish all consoles would just, for one generation, skip all the graphics bs like higher resolution, better textures, etc. and focus on making a new standard for higher fps, aliasing etc. Then after that they can start mucking about again with better textures and more polygons. Ever since I switched back to pc gaming I have realised how much of a headache low fps always gave me on xbox, ps2, ps3 and x360, and to be honest, I don't notice anything better with ps4; it's still the same low fps on average, with drops here and there. : /

Bahamut3360d ago

@Glemt

Ehm, because he said "blurry, jaggy, and laggy"

Which wouldn't happen on PS4, not if Rockstar was the one performing optimization for the console. But you're a PC elitist, so you won't hear anything but what you want to hear, right? Right.

Erik73573360d ago

Why not? I mean if they want to make assets more real, more detail in the environment, they might have to bahamut

Bahamut3360d ago

@Erik7357

No, what will happen is we'll get the console version first. It will look amazing. Everyone will yell and clap and be more than satisfied with the game. Then a year later, the PC version will release and will look exactly the same aside from some minor differences in shadows, antialiasing, framerate, and resolution IF your PC allows it.

The "detail" you speak of will remain exactly the same.

"Which wouldn't happen on PS4, not if Rockstar was the one performing optimization for the console. But you're a PC elitist, so you won't hear anything but what you want to hear, right? Right."

It will happen because the consoles are still weak when it comes to power. The PC version will look noticeably better and run twice as fast. I can't understand while people can't understand this. I have a PS4 Pro and it is great but these comparisons to a good PC are laughable. Love how everyone forgets that the consoles can't game at 60fps which is a HUGE difference. Might want to calm down with the elitist card, from what I have seen on this website the PS4 fanboys make the so called PC elitist look mature.

It will come but not at launch..They will make you double dip

And game will not look blurry mess as it will be on current gen systems @ 900p-1080p atleaset and 4k or Upscaled to 4k on Scorpio and Pro.

cartoonx13360d ago

but gta 5 came at the very end of the cycle when these console were already maxed. still think xbox has some more power left and ps4 is more powerful so these issues wont repeat i believe hopefully.

crazychris41243361d ago

We all know its coming to PC, should be out within a year of console release.

starchild3360d ago

I'm sure it's coming. The only question is when.

TheColbertinator3360d ago

Although I hope this is true,I do wonder if we'll get it alongside release. I just want it right away so I might grab it on X1 first.

You think Rockstar views Red Dead 2 as a failure because it didn't sell 150m copies?

jznrpg196d ago

3 billion or so in revenue not including online stuff I’m sure they don’t

SethNW195d ago

I am pretty sure they don't. It was profitable and made them a lot of money. Not GTA5 money but far from failure. Maybe it is lower priority franchise, due to being smaller, but that is about the lowest they would put it as. Only thing they do consider failure is RDR2 Online, unlike GTA5 Online, that RDR2 Online flopped. Hence why it got less support. And when it come to profits, sales for both combined don't come close to GTA Online microtansactions. Hence why everything very quickly got canceled and GTA Online was top priority, so no GTA6 for a long time, no DLC for GTA5, despite there being 5 DLCs planned, at least I think it was 5, give or take one. But as I see it, they needed to rejuvenate interest and all, hence why GTA6 eventually is getting made. But what they are really looking forward to is refresh of Online.

ZeekQuattro195d ago

Only in terms of the online aspect of the game. They didn't support it as much as they did GTA V Online. I remember people being pissed about that.

jznrpg196d ago

I own a few GTAs but never played them. I love Red Dead though

Yui_Suzumiya189d ago (Edited 189d ago )

Boring and overrated. Red Dead Redemption is pretty good though. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is my personal GOAT. We need more stuff like that from TooKyo.

victorMaje196d ago

I must be one of the few who are fine with the GTA6 delay. People treat that game like it’s the 2nd coming lol.

FIELDMARSHALL_P195d ago

My daughter asked me how I felt about I shrugged and said I don't care gives me time to finish up games I already have. It's all good let them make the best game they can.

RedDevils195d ago

Wish they make another Manhunt or Bully.

damn, thats a ridiculous number

The world they built is pretty amazing. Unfortunately, the game was mostly boring to me. I definitely had fun in some parts, but it didn't do it for me as a whole like the first one did. I loved RDR so much.

The budgets and time it takes to make games these days is out of control. Such a big risk. If a game isn't a huge hit, it is often it for a studio. Scary. I really miss the PS2 and PS3 days where studeios could make 4 games in a generation and take risks in making something new. And so many were using their own engines. Those were the days.

neutralgamer1992200d ago

Agreed. I love RDR but couldn't get into RDR2. The animations take forever and game slows you down on purpose. It won't let you have fun because R* want us to play the game they want to. I know millions love RDR2 and I even bought and own it. But just wasn't for me.

It's like comparing GTA4 to saints row 2. One game was about fun while the other was about realism and that's coming from someone who beat GTA4 many times. I much rather a game be fun to play than chase realism

YodaCracker200d ago

GTA IV’s realism is what made it so much more fun for me. I loved experimenting with the physics.

Storm23199d ago

I bought RDR2 also. Put 100+ hours into it and beat it our of respect for Rockstar and all the people saying it was the greatest game ever. RDR blew my mind but might also have been the best time in gaming for me personally. l loved that PS3 gen so much.

I am excited to see what GTA6 is like.
