Microsoft used GDC 2017 to discuss some details of Windows 10 Game Mode. As predicted the feature will boost performance by dedicating resources in a machine’s GPU and CPU. However, is Microsoft’s plan to bridge Xbox One and PC gaming something gamers are asking for?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.
As some 1 who games on PC there's absolutely no need to own an xbone since I can play every xbone exclusive on my PC
If anything I'm hoping Xbox becomes more like PC.
More mod support for a variety of games
Free Xbox Live multiplayer
3rd party game purchase support (Steam, gmg, uplay etc)
Full keyboard and mouse support
As to having a decent PC and to consider getting an xbox is down to two reasons.
Simplicity. You are not much for tinkering with upgrades for your PC. Some games run well on your rig. Others ran like crap. You'd rather play on Xbox so it runs like crap to everyone equally.
Friends. Your acquaintances and relatives want to game with you but they cannot get into PC gaming. Therefore you join them as best you can with an X1.
Price. Some days in our life are where we lacked that pocket change for a cup of coffee.
Well As a Pc player I'm interested what E3 2017 brings for Pc/Xbox gamers..
From what I've seen of benchmarks so far Windows 10 'Game Mode' actually makes far more games perform worse than the few that perform better.
I'm not sure why Microsoft is touting this feature already when it's clearly not ready. In its current form it seems to be a step backwards more than anything else.
Just from reading the article an improvement of 1%-5% doesn't seem like much but at least it's something.
As for if people with gaming PCs need an Xbox to play Xbox games that are available in the Windows store and with play anywhere?
They don't need an Xbox to play those games and in many cases the PC version can surpass the Xbox One version. However since they are essentially the same ecosystem Microsoft doesn't care where they play the game. What they care is that they bought the time off Microsoft's store. Not to mention PC owners will add to Microsoft's MAUs which is how they measure success now.
