Some Nintendo Switch users getting weak Wi-Fi signal

The Nintendo Switch may have a weaker-than-desirable Wi-Fi radio, according to numerous reports of signal strength issues with Nintendo’s new console.

darthv723396d ago

From a tear down video it appears they put the wireless module inside the metal shielding as opposed to outside like many other devices have. This effects the signal strength of not just the wifi but also the controllers as it is a unified module.

If Nintendo had just cut a small space in the shielding... it would help to alleviate such issues.

blaming the Switch for their poor WiFi connection

-Foxtrot3395d ago

Oh it's the consumers fault now....right ¬¬

Summons753395d ago

Yeah...I forgot, only Nintendo are capable of being horribly incorrect and criminal, everyone else is absolutely perfect and can never do anything wrong.

Get real. One person is having problems and you believe it's for everyone lol.

You get bloody real and take your own stupid advice you spew out to everyone

This isn't a single case. If it was there wouldn't be a fuss. Google or YouTube

G20WLY3395d ago

^it's a build issue and Nintendo's fault. It's WiFi signal is weak, at least in part, due to the pick-up point inside sitting behind shielding that directly affects the signal.

Nintendo NEVER do anything wrong. At least that's what Nintendo fanboys tell me.

The Switch. Most rock solid console ever.

It's called the switch because someone should take a hickory switch to those designers...

@Summons75

The switch has had so many problems its not even funny at this point. And i'm being dead serious. You can try to defend in every article you want. But it just makes you and Eddie look worse by doing so. It's a known fact that the wifii module is shielded. Which in turn will affect signal strength, not just on one persons switch. But on everyones that is this way.

And your comment about blaming Nintendo. This is what happens when you rush to the market such as like MS did with the 360.

@OtakuDJK1NG-Rory

So eager to defend. You have the slightest clue of what signal is.

Another case of Nintendo haters pouncing on a none issue. Typical, they can't play Zelda so all they do is bash the Switch lol

DashArrivals3395d ago (Edited 3395d ago )

I'm playing on my friend's Wii-U. At least the Wii-U was not rushed and was well made, even though it failed.

Just start reporting his comments. His comments doesn't even make sense anymore. Honestly i think you have a bricked Switch due to the fact you're in every Switch article defending every comment.

I get a pretty good signal from my room when the access point is two rooms away.

Zjet3395d ago

Mine is perfectly fine,

people need to learn how to

1. buy better routers

2. configure said routers properly, Nintendo Consoles always work better on channel 1 or 11 if using standard 2.4Ghz N

Thats right he typed that out people....SMFH

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle55d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted
