Honestly, I'm genuinely shocked that they are doing a full sequel, they could have easily just released expansions for the next 10 years and charged the same price as the sequel while simultaneously only needing to do like 1/10th of the work. I really hope Bungie get Destiny 2 right the first time though, the original could have potentially revolutionised the genre this gen in the same way COD 4 did last gen but they really missed the mark.

This why I stopped playing and I won't get any character too light lvl 400. Also I'm really mad concerning the PlayStation 4 exclusive content contract that includes destiny 2.

They lost a few of my friends as customers; one of the biggest selling points of Destiny was the ability to carry over your character, but now they're saying no? And for those who will argue "no they didn't" yes I remember specifically them talking about how your character, items, and stats carried over to get the "full experience" - the same lie about Destiny being a 10 year project - which every interview they keep changing their wording to save face.

When Activision got involved I was skeptical but I still gave Destiny a chance because it's the first Bungie game I played since Oni for the PS2 (I played Halo 1 before Oni for those wondering), and after the way the game was handled I'll pass on Destiny entirely.

I'm glad nothing will be carried forward.. It would feel too much like an expansion. I for one would rather an entirely new feeling game. I like the grind.. having 3 characters all at 400 I can only do so much at this point..
Besides... I'm sure after the initial release of Destiny 2, they'll bring back classic weapons like Gjallarhorn, revamped and packaged with new dlc or something. That way they can sell more units..

I have played my fair share of Destiny, Played year one to almost year 3 on playstation and than fully year 3 on xbox one. I think approx over 1000 hrs combined. done all the raids have gone flawless a few times. I dont mind them starting new as i could only imagine carrying over weapons would be hard to balance with the new weapons and whatever leveling system they would have in place. But what really gets me upset is all the purchased items i have should be able to carry over! I will understand they dont if they do not have an emote system or badge system anymore. But if it does why the hell not!

Glad I stopped playing at the end of last year. Heard the rumours about this. Complete waste. Lived my time on this game but can't be bothered with a restart

Only thing that bother me about this is loosing stuff I paid real money for I can see guns and gear but why are they taking away the dances lol sounds stupid but I paid real money. I still have unused silver so I'm just going to loose that? I more than likely will get part 2 but will not participate in micrograms actions.

now that they dropped the ps3 and xbox 360 and wont be making a switch game they have no reason not to support the pc.

This is misleading because most core players from podcasts etc. do NOT want a carry over. They want the experience of starting fresh and getting powerful again, seeking out new weapons etc. Also, the problems do not get carried over either. It would be a nightmare to balance weapons, especially if half the community had an array of weapons and skills that others did not.

The best thing is for Bungie to learn from Destiny to make sure we get the best possible foundation going forward!

bungie can't handle their game properly now, even after the latest lazy updates. D2 is doomed from the start if the 2nd half of D1 is anything to go by.

Hopefully this one won't be shit.

We'll probably only get 1 shader or emblem for all those years spent on Destiny1...

Matchmaking raids and a xur type character staying for more than 48 hours. These are 2 very important things for Destiny 2 in my opinion. I shouldn't have to go to ( u don't have to be lonely at destiny only .com) or whatever it was called to get a raid around. It should be in game.

I remember when they first announced it as a trilogy, they made a huge deal about your character going on this ten year journey with Bungie. Sounds like a decision made by Activision Execs, if the die hards cant carry over the items they paid money for they'll probably pay money for items again and also it makes the sequel more accessible to people who didn't buy the first game. It's a business decision, not one that will improve experience for existing players.

Also, this has to be the most redundant bland insulting statement since the infamous "For those who want to play xbox 360 games on the xbone, there's the xbox 360"

Nooo kidding... cos we all just assumed you were not going to make them accessible in destiny 1? Really? We are so privileged... WTF does that even mean!?

Here's a question... wasn't Destiny supposed to be a 10 year ordeal? If so, why on earth, pardon the pun, are we talking Destiny 2 so soon? In my books Bungie have 7 years more continuous dlc to add still. Or am I missing something which is quite often the case?

All I wanted was my emblems to get carry over. My ghost is still alive that mean my progress is alive.
