The games are coming and it was said long ago MS was looking into games. Obviously Scorpio needs to be released or shown at E3 1st but games take time to devlop. As far as the pass goes i say good job MS! We actual Xbox gamers want games and would be fools to believe MS isn't aware of this and looking at ways to fix it..

They cannot focus on exclusives since they have no developers left and third prty/second party deals are really expensive when your system sells 2or3 to 1 less

This is where the money making happens, i do agree that it they need some more, but this will make them a lot more money then any exclusive will.

MS seem more concerned with being able to play old games than new ones.

The problem with this is (aside from never having new games) come next generation when they want to bring all there BC XBOne titles forward to Xbox 4, there won't be any.

So cause MS are offering a subscription service (which seems great for certain gamers) that allow's people to play a 100 games for a certain price every month... they must not be making exclusive content ? okay. That logic is sound.

I agree that they need more exclusives but, there is nothing wrong with offering a rental service for people that can't afford every game that comes out.

Personally I sold my XB1 to a friend because of the lack of new exclusives and I still miss having it for various reasons. I love my PS4 Pro though .

It always seems to be that people think it has to be one or the other. MS has already stated they are going to be upping their game on exclusives this year and the years coming... not seeing this subscription plan as anything that would take away from any of that.

There's an argument for this and why Sony could bury MS if they offered a similar feature and gave access to all games. Why?

Because we are willing to pay for phones and cable etc. But we canceled land lines when mobile launched. Many are ditching cable for Netflix etc. Whichever company offers the best access to quality gaming for a monthly fee will win, unless competitor offers a better product for less. But there will only be room for one.

Playing Horizon right now on my pro. If MS were giving away free games, I'd still choose PS4 over Xbox and it's because of exclusives like Horizon. This game is insanely ambitious. No PS4 Owner should miss out on this. The story, the graphics, the controls, the voice acting... brilliant. I've played it for hours, I only came here to just tell you guys how awesome this game is, and I am getting back to it right now. Wow, Guerrilla games really went all out on this one. A lot of hard work went into this, guys; ignore all the troll reviews. GG is now right up there with Rockstar and ND. Bravo.

MS is a pretty big company. I'm pretty sure they can and should focus on both. The subscription plan is fantastic I think, but I still want them to focus on original IP. I have a feeling we'll see some new stuff at e3 this year as I'm sure they are fully aware of what people are thinking.

For sure xbox needs new games but Microsoft should still be credited when they do something good. I think this xbox game pass is a good feature. I've hardly used my xbox compared to my ps4 so if nothing else, it'll get me to use my xbox more but yes I agree, microsoft must work on getting more exclusives and new ip. Even so, microsoft will never be able to compete with Sony when it comes to games. Sony just have way too much for them to match.

I get the direction, but I'm sure a worldwide cooperation has different teams working on different things. Getting something doesn't mean it's came at the expense of something else.

Honestly after playing horizon (but mostly watching my brother play because it's his PS4) I couldn't help but think that these are the killer games Xbox needs. It's a shame. Sure I've found enjoyment out of my Xbox since I got it at launch but with the cancellation of scalebound and among other things I just can't help but wish for more. Last E3 all they mostly showed were games I already knew about. I'm hoping they blow me away this E3.

Just cause the PS4 has had a good start to 2017 doesn't mean that the XB1 is suddenly pants all of a sudden.
Let's not lose perspective here, the XB1 has had a steady stream of quality console exclusives since it's launch, arguably a better range of exclusives than the PS4 has had in the same timeline.
Plus more PC games are available on the XB1, Cities Skylines is out this spring along with Thimbleweed Park, Elite Dangerous has been out for almost 2 years, Ark appeared a good year before the PS4 version plus there's Everspace out now.
The XB1 has most genres covered with a quality exclusive, more genres covered than the PS4. Want a quality driving game be it open world or track based - Forza Horizon 2 and 3, Forza 5 and 6. Quality FPS - Halo 5, TPS - Gears 4, open world game - Sunset Overdrive, RTS - Halo Wars 2, Space games - ED, Everspace etc etc you get the idea.

And I own both a PS4 and an XB1 so don't go calling me an xbot or whatever, been gaming on Playstations for 20 years now, I only use the word Pony to represent the worst of the PS community which I assume is a very small but vocal minority. Both consoles are great, both have great exclusives and features, both can happily co-exist.

Microsoft, I am sure knows what is best for their company, and can do multiple tasks, so they can do a subscription based gaming and focus on exclusives. Many have idea what MS is doing behind the scenes.

While I do agree that MS is sorely lacking in exclusives, this subscription based service is still an option....not obligatory, so the hate and the lambasting is unwarranted. As a 38yr old gamer who works in the corporate world, I can tell you that no company is exempt from making poor decisions. Sony and MS have made their fair share....but you have to understand things from the corporate side as ultimately, they are a business. Phil doesn't control the budget....the Finance team does. Don't you think that Phil and his predecessors haven't fought for money to spend? But here's the thing...Nintendo and Sony are more open to taking risks because their culture stems from entertainment...Nintendo..well it's Nintendo...and Sony with its movies, music, consumer electronics. They are not averse to taking risks. Sony as a whole has now been relying on its VERY fruitful gaming division. The Playstation brand is its cash cow. Microsoft, on the other hand, has other products like Office and its Windows operating systems which are bringing in an exorbitant amount of money and is very profitable. When a company is used to be very profitable, it is a little more difficult for the Finance teams to budge when there is a possibility of losing a lot of money. As a gamer first, I still believe that MS needs to take these risks as they can probably absorb the losses more than Sony can. I thoroughly enjoy my PS4 Pro and I am loving Horizon (best graphics I have seen so far), but I also enjoy my Xbox One S equally and I will be investing in a Switch and Scorpio. Since when are options bad? Not everyone has huge disposable income so a subscription based service can be a viable option. I know reason and rationale are not a common thing on these type of threads...lol....but I figured I would at least attempt to do so.

While i'm not against subscription services. This game pass will be a good deal when there are 100 games available I do agree that MS needs more exclusives though.

It's more likely they know giving away BC with no subscription is costing them time and resources so creating the Xbox Pass as a way to continue it.

They do need to focus on Xbox/Win 10 games with Sony not having entitlement and vice versa to Playstation too. New console, new games as an opportunity.
