Absolutely not when Nintendo consoles aren't going to get the major games from Rockstar or numerous other big western 3rd Party developers, it's unlikely the major releases will hit the system.
For many myself included PS4 is already that system, because people know those games are there, along with Sony providing awesome exclusive games support.

Switch could very well be people's go to secondary dedicated gaming device because of Nintendo's exclusives and the prospect of the system's flexibility of how it can be used and it will no doubt provide better quality games compared to smartphones and other tablet style systems.

Switch is also currently way too expensive for the level of tech in the box, you need all major games releases, great hardware performance and a compelling price point to be the primary games console for the masses.

Maybe a few who aren't interested in the major games from Rockstar and co will think differently, but they're exception, not the rule.

Because of the inferiority of Nintendo's hardware for the most part it's always going to be a secondary platform for me.

I would only be purchasing a Nintendo product based on them as a publisher whereas I'm going to be purchasing PlayStations to not only play third party games but Sony's first party offerings which by default means the Nintendo platform will likely always be my secondary.

Considering it is mostly a mobile device I would say no. It is not as powerful or versatile as an Xbox One or PS4. It is well behind the PS4 Pro and Scorpio. No VR support, no 4K, and has a lack of AAA support from most publishers. So I see it as a niche platform and one for Nintendo fans to enjoy but never the primary.

I'll have an xb1 and a switch. The switch will be my primary/favorite console and I'll just use the Xbox to play games that don't come to Switch. My last three most anticipated games are Zelda, Mario and Xenoblade and Im gunna use Switch as my go to place for indie games , especially when because of the portability

No it can't. Sure Nintendo has wonderful 1st party quality Exclusives, but it's major drawback is already before it even releases most gamers for the most part can already gauge the level of support it's likely to receive or, lack of.

Although there will be those who argue that the Switch is a powerhouse as a handheld, they truly know in reality that the Switch will struggle in area's where big AAA 2nd and 3rd party titles will not perform well or miss the console altogether. This is Nintendo's glaring weakness! They have lost the ability to keep up with the developmental standards of present generational gaming! Meaning their hardware consistently comes in as the least capable in terms of power each generation.

Power is another thing that gamers will argue knowing good and well todays games aren't getting smaller, in fact they're getting bigger and more demanding which means they require more power. Nintendo will find themselves in the exact same predicament that they've been in the last few generation's simply because they would rather live in their own little bubble, instead of trying to adhere to todays developmental standards.

As much as I am looking forward to getting this device, it will not be my primary console. Nintendo consoles have not been the primary console for me since the GameCube. I am getting the Switch for Nintendo games, and 3rd party exclusives that I may be interested in. I'm not concerned at all about the missing internet browser or Netflix type apps. I buy video game consoles to play games. The Switch plays games, so it will be relevant to me for years, plus the added portability helps. (Honestly though I will be playing the Switch about 98% of the time docked)

Primary console to me means the one where I tend to play multiplats. And that has become Nintendo's weakest are, so no. It won't be my primary console. Heck, I still don't see a reason to go out and buy one at all. Got my Wii U for Zelda and nothing else so far interests me.

I don't see why anyone would make this console their primary. It won't have all third party multiplatform games and even the ones they do get will be downgraded for the switch.

You also have to look at how many users will actually use the online service and how well the online service will perform. You may find it better to play mp games on PS4 or Xbone.

I just can't see how someone could make it a primary console. If anything it would be more likely used as a secondary console to only play Nintendo first party games... like every other Nintendo console after the GCN and even then I really don't know many that used an N64 or GCN as a primary. The SNES was the last Nintendo console I used as a primary.

I would assume you'd want to play the best looking version of a game with the best possible online service. However, if you only own Nintendo consoles (and man I'm so sorry if that's the case) then yea, I guess this would replace your Wii U...

I know i'll actually play Switch just as much as PS4 if not more. My PS4 is used everyday for various things. Not sure if Switch will get all the apps PS4 has like HBO Go, but it's versatility outside the home and online games I love to play will most likely make it most played. But PS4 will be most gamers primary console for multiplatform games they like. It's really down to game preferences.

Wii U was my primary console simply because of the game pad and off tv play. Having to share the TV is the key for me. I only bought an XBone because of so many games being exclusive of the Wii U that I wanted to play. I've played good games, but I miss having the gamepad for off tv play as I find it increasingly hard to find time to play the XBone. The Switch will my my main game console regardless, just for that feature alone.

YES!, i sold my PS4 pro last night and now when i get the switch the weekend, it'll be my main console.

I sold my PS4 Pro because i got bored of the games on it. I'd rather have a console with "FUN" games on it ... hence why the Switch will be my primary console.

Depends what kind of Gamer you are. If you primarly play Multiplayer games, you either go with Switch or Xbox, Ps4 just has nothing exclusive to offer that can compete with Nintendo or Microsoft.
If you mostly play by yourself, I could see you playing more on PS4, since they have the best Singleplayer games.

My last primary Nintendo console was the Super Nes, everyone after that was 2nd or 3rd.

Wii U was my primary for 2 years and a half. The Switch won't even be tertiary, the only thing it offers is portability, which is pointless to me.

I know it matters to many people, but for me, the lack of Netflix at launch is no big deal at all. I've never watched anything on Netflix other than something someone else put on.

No. And I'm a die hard Nintendo fan since the days of the NES. The switch will have some great games that I will enjoy immensely but PS4 just can't be touched as far as exclusives and third party support. I'll probably play 1 switch game for every 4 or 5 PS4 games.

Unfortunately it cannot to me.. My PS4 is and will remain my primary console due to its vast variety of exclusive titles not to mention 3rd party.. Still, i will always buy a nintendo console for its exclusives. They always have great games with a level of quality unmatched by Sony or Microsoft.. I almost bought the xb1s just for killer instinct and rare replay but nintendo smokes them all like a pack of kools..

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
