By now you may well have taken part in discussions concerning the fact that Resident Evil 5 retains the control system from Resident Evil 4 more or less unchanged. At the same time, you probably haven't forgotten that Resident Evil 4 was one of the best games of the last generation, and has arguably yet to be surpassed as a third person actioner.

Circana data shows Resident Evil 5 as the best selling Resident Evil game in the US, ahead of Resident Evil 4 remake and Village.
So the most successful RE is the one where a white man is killing Africans.
This can't be real.

New leaks from Dusk Golem detail cancelled Resident Evil projects, including a Rebecca focused Revelations game, while stating no Resident Evil 5 remake is in development.
Capcom's willingness to invest in experiments and scrap them sets them apart form many other developers (Nintendo have a similar methodology). Far too often companies push a game setting or game mechanic that is just not that good and the final product is middling or poor.

Dusk Golem claims a Resident Evil 5 remake is not coming this year, with a Code Veronica remake expected instead.
Hopefully if and when they do a RE5 remake, they give it the RE3 remake treatment, because this is certainly one title that I don't want a faithful remake of.
I am so stoked for RE5, but i seriously hope they make sure the teammate AI is not only good, but g*ddamn GREAT. Since this is a first in the series, I'm a little skeptical yet, I hope evn if it's not perfect it just doesnt damage the game. I'd hate to see it where if she dies the game "ends" because that would be annoying and really make alot of people unhappy.
But otherwise, the game looks good and my only complaint with RE4 was that it wasnt truly frightening / scary like previous entries. So i hope RE5 gets back to being frightening, which it looks like it will succeed in. Hopefully, a contender for Game of the Year 2009.
