At its best, the internet is a wonderful place to freely distribute creative works and discussion. At its worst, its the lower half of a youtube comment section. Why do so many gaming discussions quickly descend into the fiery pits of fan rage? My best guess is a psychological attachment to branding.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

All available May 5.
I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
A light example of a fanboy mentality in a comment section:
Fanboy person: This thing is soo innovating and advance and is the best thing above all
Normal person: hmm really whats makes it so special ?
Fanboy person: hmmm tTHE brand of COURSE they are awesome!!!!
Normal person: oh ok, can you be more specific in how is so innovating without mentioning the brand? what specs does it have ?
Fanboy person: aww well it has... this... specs and stuff... and there are awesome and portable.
Normal person: I see but those things already been done before like even lots of years ago(gives examples), so how exactly is innovating if its done in the past?
Fanboy person: YOU KNOW WAHT!? SHAT UP!, you are just a hater and a fanboy!! the BRAND is AWESOMEEE!
Normal person: oh ok I see, ok see ya.
Fanboy person: Wath diDN't like what I Told ya stu#$id fanboy? such HATER !
Normal person: (stops replying on this thread and moves on)
:D
Xbox what? Nintendo what?
Don't just list a brand and a company and then compare them to a single console
The maturity level of gaming fanatics on the internet is shameful. I would love to be with any one of them while they are with loved ones then begin to talk on the subject. Im sure any of them over 15yrs old would try to escape the conversation when I started quoting their behavior. Or bring it up around a girl or boy the person is attracted to. They might learn something. I wish that I knew some fanboys irl, because I would love to try this.
On a larger scope this immaturity is directly contributing to the negative stigmas about gaming. There are applications that gaming could accelerate learning by a significant magnitude. However these things will never see the light of day as long as gaming is seen as a child only hobby, a catalyst for violent behavior, and an overall waste of life. It is time for the people that are the problem to step back and look at their behavior on a personal level. It is neither any of your business or concern what a stranger chooses to spend their money on. Youre old enough to know that you shouldnt care and it isnt important to the world you live in.
The platform wars arent helping gaming. Someone said yesterday that they are good for gaming because they push manufacturers. This simply isnt true. Gamers will not magically disappear if the revolting immaturity disappears. Manufacturers will not suddenly stop trying to sell their product. A monoply by a company is what everyone should fear. Ironically a monoply is exactly what these childish fools are hoping for.
Loyalty to a brand (or sports team, political party, etc) is a form of tribalism, which is a product of evolution, so it isn't going to go away no matter how much people wish it would.
