Yes the wii u was a flop but the final nail was Nintendo saying the nx was on its way in 2015 when you tell everyone that then ofcourse they won't buy the wii u especially when the consoles price never truly dropped

haters and trolls should try it sometimes, having some of those feels, maybe go play one of all those wonderful exclusives that out or coming out instead of just jacking it to review scores here on N4G while bashing on anything and everything else you have no interest in,... Judging by the very anemic launch game list (one good game, the rest shovelware and not even much of that), it does seem very rushed. Which is really hard to believe, considering that the system was announced in 2015. In two years they were basically unable to deliver more than a single big first party title, pretty sad. And 3rd party developers are not doing much either at this point, or you would have seen more titles from them at launch as well.

From what I've heard, developers knew about as much about Switch as consumers did. Even Nintendo's internal development teams haven't had enough time with final dev kits to get games like Mario Kart 8 (which is a frickin Port!!!) finished in time for the aggressive launch schedule.

Same reason we could ask "Why is Wii U already being dropped dead when it's only been out for 4 YEARS."

Even the fucking PS Vita stayed alive longer than the Wii U.

So an article hinting at switch having a custom chip with 512 cuda cores and being close in power to the x1 gets minimal comments. A negative article saying switch is rushed and it gets dozens of comments hating on the machine. That about sums things up.

It oes feel little rushed atleast released wise. Especially since there reprot of joycon issues. But im still getting one. Not to concern about games since i have a ps4 also

The WiiU failed in everyone's eyes and so Nintendo reacted to make and release a 9th gen console early. Technically this is now the 9th generation from them. In my eyes, I expect a 9th gen console to be much stronger than what the Switch currently is. I understand that it is a portable and that is indeed extremely impressive. This only adds to my excitement of what Sony and Microsoft may do for their 9th gen consoles. Problem here lies that I see the PS4 and Xbox One to be around until at least 2019. So by then, their next consoles will probably be beast and the Switch probably wouldn't be able to hold a candle up compared to them, and they would be in the same generation family. There so many details that are still vague, where are the virtual console games? Not being at launched? And how long will it take before we get new games to the virtual console instead of the same old ones over and over.

But really, can you blame Nintendo for releasing a new console already? The WiiU wasn't doing them anything and they were probably in a stalemate for gaining and spending money. It wasn't going anywhere.

Because it is! Don't tell me that Mario and Zelda weren't slated for the WiiU. It tanked so badly they quickly abandoned all of their hardcore fanbase and started anew.

I think that they are doing a soft launch. The Nintendo fans will run out and buy it regardless. They can hype up the system. Nintendo can work out bugs and add stuff. At E3 or Pax, they can show what is coming out in the future. The big showcase will be Holiday season, when they hardlaunch?...By this time they should have a good library and will have worked out the bugs. Also, there shouldn't be a shortage of casual parents buying the Switch for their kids and Nintendo fans rushing out to grab one too, since the hardcore fans probably would have already picked up. More or less the Switch's launch will be holiday season or shortly after, where we can see if it sinks or swims.

This whole gen has been rushed. With patches to fix games, updates to consoles. What's another one to add to the pile? Lol

this console is rushed ... period. The reason(s) for it was probably forced by their shareholders to show something tangible. Once the switch was announced, their stock dropped

Ever wonder why a lot of the normal features aren't available at launch? Because nintendo is still developing the infrastructure to support this new platform. We're preordering early access...plain and simple. But i'll be glad once i get Zelda into my hands ^_^

It doesn't. The console does not look rushed at all. Perhaps they needed a little more time to finish more games, but that's it really and can also be explained by software delays...

This is the 9th console generation period! There's no such thing as a mid cycle refresh, the truth of the matter is Xbox1 and Ps4 as well as the Nintendo WiiU were released too weak and lacking in power; for God's sake man an old GTX 480 had to be underclocked by Linus in order to not straight manhandle and rape the Ps4 and Xbox1 and that's a fact! Don't worry I have posted the link below. Consoles are too weak to ever catch up to PC/Laptops in power. My $60 GTX 750 ti in my Desktop PC and my Alienware 18 with SLI Gtx 880m's are way more powerful than the Xbox Scorpio and Ps4 Pro! Using Nvidia DSR there's no game that I cannot play in 4K. The point is the Sony and Xbox fanboys and fangirls that were never going to buy a Nintendo Switch in the first place need to kick rocks as your console is weak also by a huge margin when compared to PC. I will add I myself will be buying a Nintendo Switch as it offers gameplay that I cannot achieve in a much better fashion on my PC/Laptop ,as is the case with the Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Truth be told both Xbox and PlayStation are very lacking in exclusive games this generation compared to past generations, although I don't see any of the fanboys and fangirls complaining about that well known fact! And people forget Nintendo has games like Monster Hunter that while not first party games are exclusive to Nintendo consoles and handhelds thus far, that I and others like. I didn't forget to post the videos below of the GTX 480 stomping the Ps4 and Xbox1 and a GTX 750 ti playing GTA 5 in 4K.

Maybe because it is rushed? And I dont think its necessarily a bad thing. The Switch is not gonna be a good system for everyone, when it comes out on March 3rd, at least. Not everyone is a Zelda fan and all those other games dont seem interesting in my opinion. They're releasing a console that has no streaming services, and literaly comes empty ones you start it up. This is barely their first try at an online service like PSN and Xbox Live, so they might want to have everything set and ready for when Super Mario Odyssey and all those 3rd party games are out. And maybe at that point it will get a price drop and everyone will be able to afford a Switch, and everyone will want one. And all those early enlisters will get some type of reward or somethig special. Or i might be wrong and they are just rushing the Switch because they see that Sony just came out with the PS4 Pro and Microsoft are about to release the Project Scorpio, and seeing that the Wii U did horrible, they might just want to cash in a little earlier.
