When Nintendo innovates, things don't always go well.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

TG writes: If you’ve ever wanted that chaotic, large-scale modern warfare feeling from Battlefield but in full VR immersion, Forefront delivers it better than anything else currently available on Quest.
Nintendo & gimmick is like bread & butter
Yeah. Nintendo had some...."interesting" ; .. Lol... product releases over the years. I remember when each one of these launched. Didn't buy any of them, but I support Nintendo for trying. I didn't get Rob with my Nintendo, but I thought it was cool.
Also, I like that this article got it right that virtual boy was *NOT* a VR system. It was a 3D stereoscopic system with poor visual quality. It was Nintendo's attempt to make the Nintendo Famicom 3D system on the go

As a business, if you don't try creating something new to expand and create new markets, you're not trying. Same old same old year in year out can get quite boring over time.Secondly, failures can turn into successes. 3D system and virtual boy failed. But the 3DS succeeded from those ideas. Card reader and the N64 transfer pack failed. But Amiibos sell like hot cakes.
The vitality sensor didn't fail. It was never released. The Wii U would have, in my opinion, sold just as much as GameCube and Nintendo's other home consoles. But,Nintendo not dropping the price at all didn't help though. And Sony was the only home console manufacturer that sold over 100 million twice. Wii was Nintendo's first one because it caught on to the casual market in a big way.
Anyway, here's to more interesting ideas in the future from all parties. It's like going from this

Japanese anime is filled with personal flying machines. Point is, if you don't try something new, you don't know what might sell or innovate until you try. Even if it's risky.
Soon to be "11 Nintendo Innovations (innovations lol) That Flopped"
The Vitality sensor? Neat idea
