for a ridiculous price of 400$ CAD and after being burnt by the wiiu?, no f*ckn way im getting it at launch, will wait for a major price drop and a massive amount of games before getting it.(and the fact that it doesnt include a proper controller with the console also stop me from thinking about getting it.)

Well if you haven't learnt from the Wii, then Wii U and you've watched two awful presentations of the Nintendo Switch, the first being the reveal of the console and then the "big presentation" which was supposed to calm our fears only to p*** us off more then honestly I don't know what to say

It's a smarter idea to wait until the end of this year or maybe next January to pick one up because we'll learn how committed Nintendo really are to the device, what third party developers really think and games such as Super Mario Odssey will be out. Along with this maybe we'll also see a complete Zelda BotW with the Season Pass included. Then you have the console it's self where Nintendo might lower the price along with the prices of the consoles accessories such as the Pro Controller. If Nintendo actually get with it they might see the backlash and bundle a Pro Controller inside the console. However they won't care if people such as yourself are just going to defend them left, right and centre like there's not a thing wrong...do you think most of us hear are just pulling stuff out of nowhere to "hate" on them for the sake of it? People tell you why based on what Nintendo has done yet despite explaining it someone comes down to the same old "You're a troll" or "Nintendo hater" excuse.

It's a sensible choice rather then buying into another Nintendo console where it looks like for the third time in a row they haven't learnt a thing...well sorry they have but only the bad, up to date practices like Season Passes.

@Foxtrot - you are definitely entitled to your opinion. I myself, have my own opinion. Nobody is right, nobody is wrong. You see value in what you spend your money on, as do I.

I know I am going to get one of these things sooner or later. I would just prefer to spread out my purchases. Buy the system now, play the games I want to play. And then pick up games as I go along.

It was no different for me with the PS4. I had Battlefield 4 when I bought the console. That's all I played for the first several months, until Infamous came out. I didn't wait to jump into the PS4, I knew I wanted one, so I bought it.

I am sorry you feel the way you do, but saying I haven't learned anything or that I am some fool for actually enjoying Nintendo products is not only selfish and ignorant, but just plain useless.

I will enjoy my purchase, and you can call me whatever you want if it makes you feel better. Some people actually like to have tech from day one. I have a PSVR and barely use it (minus RE 7), does that mean it was dumb to buy it? Should I have waited until there were more high quality games to play on it (subjective to my tastes of course). I know there is software coming that will make me want to use it more, so I bit the bullet.

I'm a diehard Nintendo fan. Been ever since the NES days. However, even I am taking a wait and see approach this time. As a day one Wii-U adopter, I feel Nintendo really dropped the ball. There simply wasn't enough support from them and their attitude really pisses me off. They need start owning up to their mistakes, instead shifting blame on the consumer. I completely understood what the Wii-U was and I completely understood they did not give it enough support. It's high time they start using their bank account to start acquiring more in house studios as it's crystal clear they're not going to get the support they want from 3rd parties. So if their approach is going to leave that area lacking, they need to be the ones to make up for it. IMO they definitely deliver on quality, they need to deliver on quantity.

They also need to stop trying to be the Apple of the console world, and start listening to their fans. While I can't speak for ever Ninty fan, I am simply not just going to pay whatever they want me to. And it's not so much the price per say, rather the value for what you're getting. And seeing the pricing of their peripherals, really turns my stomach. It's simply price gouging, no way to spin it. So thus far, I am not convinced. I may be the only one, or I may be among hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) that feel this way. Only time will tell. In the meantime, I'm voting with my wallet. I want to see big changes at Nintendo.

Nintendo these days is not the same Nintendo we grew up knowing - the strange success they had with the Wii unfortunately changed their approach to gaming completely. I'm not sure how a bunch of top managers can actually be so deluded but I'm pretty sure that this second "mega hit" they are chasing will not come with the Switch.

The smart move is always to wait. That was true of the PS4 at launch, the Xbox One, and every other console. With that said, being an early adopter has it's own pleasures as well. I loved having my PS4 at launch and I will enjoy having my Switch day 1 as well.

On another note, gaming has never been a cheap hobby and it never will be a cheap one. If the price is too much for people then they shouldn't be investing their money in a game and saving it for rent instead. I am poor, but I have this little thing called a budget which allows me to afford things way beyond my meager means. If other people aren't able to budget properly, than thats another issue in and of itself.

so I'm not even sure how you're trying to compare the first year to a platform that is absent of many developers to two platforms that have the absolute majority of third-party Developers.

Let me ask you this is this platform going to get Destiny to Red Dead Redemption 2 Mass Effect The Witcher 3 next Assassin's Creed GTA 6 etc?

So how exactly can you compare the first year off the switch to something like the PlayStation 4 or even the Xbox One when the platform is basically opposite of many Developers?

I mean Resident Evil 7 just released on PC PlayStation 4 and Xbox one another game not coming to the switch cab, literally just came out and said they have no plans for Resident Evil titles on the switch Square came out and said they have no plans for Final Fantasy 15 on the switch.

So I'm not sure how you're worried about the first year of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when did games releasing right now or not coming to the switch so exactly how could you compare the first gear to to other platforms that have the majority support?

If you want to like this platform that's your choice I'm not trying to change your mind and I'm not trying to tell you to hate it or anything like that but buddy at least have some damn Common Sense what you're talking about is a number that can be looked up.

Mind you I've own PlayStation 4 since launch and I still plan to probably purchase a switch sometime next year, you liking the platform doesn't mean you need to be oblivious to objective facts.

As of right now the only major title that's coming to the switch that's actually a title you could only even find on the switch that I even see as amazing is Mario Odyssey.

Zelda breath of the wild is no more amazing on the switch than the last of us was on the PlayStation 4 it's not saying it's a bad game it simply saying I'm not sure I would recommend somebody purchase a new platform just play a game they could already play on another platform.

Once again nothing is wrong with Zelda just like nothing was wrong with the last of us but I'm pretty damn positive PlayStation 4 had more than just the remaster of The Last of Us.

Playstation four's first year had Killzone knack Infamous Second Son along with the normal Call of Duty Assassin's Creed and a bunch of other strong third-party support.

I'm sorry but there isn't much that's actually coming to the switch at this year that could only be found on the switch.

If you look at the announced games list you'd see, definitely not anything amazing... First year there honestly isn't too much to get excited about outside Zelda. There's Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 (if that's your thing), Sonic Mania, Super Mario Odyssey (which has no business being in NY) along with Monster Boy (also available on PS4/XB/PC) and Wonder Boy (likely same as previous) both of which are 2d side scrollers. Zelda was brought over to sell systems and Mario Kart is a port as is Splatoon 2 (?). There's some great stuff announced with 2018 or TBA dates but overall year one is underwhelming and unimpressive. That's assuming some of the other announced games don't get cancelled and are exclusive to Switch.

I pre-ordered the Switch but I'm having a harder and harder time biting. Though it doesn't help that this Feb-early April is packed full of great games to buy and play. But Nintendo needs to deliver with first party games and third party exclusives to make this a secondary console people want to buy. I think it goes w/o question people want to own it, but it needs the content to make it worth buying and so far Nintendo just doesn't have it. While it's great to see some fantastic titles come to the Switch most, if not all of us have already played many of those games on PS4/XB1 so have no reason or need to buy/play them again on Switch.

I skipped the Wii U as well. I'm thinking about picking one up cheap to play Zelda though, that game looks like a lot of fun. Then I could go back and check out some other games I missed like Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8.

I buy Nintendo consoles for the exclusives, which don't disappoint me in terms of quality. The fact that Atlus will make Shin Megami Tensei for Switch informs me that the studios making games for the 3DS will perhaps support Switch. Plenty of companies support Nintendo handhelds while their consoles don't share that level of support. The Switch potentially solves this.

The author's argument amounts to nothing more than "let the fans test it". I don't find that constructive. If only the fans bought one, how can you expect Nintendo to actually secure third party support? Sony and Microsoft always get great support because the adoption rate goes from good to excellent with their platforms; even Vita sees decent third party support. Nintendo has a clear disadvantage in this regard. You might say that is Nintendo's problem, and that may be fair to say, but the author does not offer anything resembling constructive solution.

If you really want Nintendo to thrive with Switch, you need to support it so developers will feel inclined to do so as well, simple as that. People back things on Kickstarter with the hope that the project does well. That is the point of supporting a product you believe in.

Software including Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem Warriors, a sequel to No More Heroes, and even a sequel to Splatoon should at least tell you that the software in the foreseeable future holds promise. I probably won't buy one day one, but definitely by the time Odyssey comes out. Plenty of games on PS4 alone to keep me very busy until then.

If you buy third party titles on PS4 and Xbox One, that makes complete sense since those represent definitive versions, PC often withstanding. Unless portability plays a huge role in your purchase or developers actually do something creative with the controls, buying third party non exclusives at the same $60 price on Switch seems counterintuitive. I only say this because you mention owning a PS4. If you do, more power to you, but I would only buy those games on Switch if they offered some controller differences that make the game more enjoyable.

I haven't once regretted getting a system, early or late, from any company, because I knew there'd be games on each I'd love.

Switch is no exception.

Mario Kart, Splatoon, Zelda, Disgaea, Tales Of, Skyrim, Binding of Issac, Dragon Quest, Xenoblade 2, Setsuna, No More Heroes, Skyrim Remastered, Bomberman, Yooka-Laylee, the list truly and sincerely keeps going, and we aren't even at E3, where Nintendo's certain to unveil a lot of the third party games they kept out of their initial reveal trailers in addition to a surprise or two.

That's not even counting possible VC games, some of which may get new online modes( for those willing to pay for that).

Let the haters who despised the Wii and Wii U skip it.
They'd find an excuse to do so regardless; even if it out-powered the Scorpio, had all the same games, and sold at a massive loss right out of the gate to keep the price down, these people would still say skip the preorder, or just outright don't get it at all, without realizing that keeping large numbers of people away from a system at an early time in its life just discourages support from third parties, let alone being enough to encourage the company themselves to continue strong support.

I'll get one, and I'll love it regardless, just like I did the PS3, PS2, Dreamcast, and every other console I've ever owned.

It has flaws, yes, but in your hatred and blindness over the past, that's all you want to see.

I think it also comes down to which games they own. Everyone always hates on the Wii, but it has a lot of fantastic games. It's home to two of the highest rated games of all time. On top of that you've got games like the Last Story, Red Steel 2, Rhythm Heaven Fever, Punch Out, Sin and Punishment, and many more that people didn't bother to play because they were too busy hating on the system. I don't think it's as good as the ps3 or 360, but considering you could pick one up for like $100 the last few years of its life, it was worth its price. People are just hating because it's the popular thing to do.

I've actually owned all the Nintendo consoles be perception of the Wii U.

Considering it sold only 13 million units offered believe the majority are siding with the idea that something is wrong with this company.

I'm even questioning how many of the people who even owned the Wii are even Nintendo fans as opposed to bandwagoners you just wanted to purchase it with the Fad.

I'm sorry but when you go from a hundred million to 13 million you have to question how many of those consumers on the wii or even Nintendo fans they either post 80 plus million users or they never really had them in the first place.

It's a bad proposition because it's simply means that Nintendo never really had that market share and it was basically vaporware in terms of Market placement people were more interested in the Wii then they were Nintendo as a company itself because as soon as the move Kinect and Facebook games came out along with iPad and iPhone games that entire casual base just moved on to the next fad,

Even if we were to say that's something went wrong in that install base decided to not purchase Nintendo consoles it means that they clearly decided to purchase and something else if they still even exist within our Market of Hardcore games meeting they decided to buy an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 in place of a Wii U.

I actually think it's more likely that they never really had that install base as much as though Wii alone had that installed base.

The massive difference from install base from DS to 3DS to Wii to Wii u very much shows something has happened to this company.

Either the install base of consumers that purchase the wii were never really Nintendo fans or they moved on to Nintendo's competitors based on Nintendo not being able to provide what they believe they could.

This sadly means from GameCube to Wii to Wii U Nintendo was losing massive market share in regards to the hardcore Market.

I do not believe you're going to see PlayStation 4 or Xbox One sell 88 million more units than they did previously simply because I believe the massive number of people who purchase the we were not even within this install base as much as they were just casual one time novelty purchasers.

That is extremely bad for Nintendo because it technically means they're doing the link install base has not been growing even the efforts of the we did not grow their installed base it might have possibly shrunken it.

To go from 18 million GameCubes to 13 million Wii u means that the Wii generation might have hurt a lot of their hardcore users and more hardcore purchasers did not buy the Wii then we might have estimated.

When you add it all up it's about 188 million consumers that did not purchase Nintendo's platform's this generation in comparison to the previous.

It is an undeniable fact that there is an absolutely absurd number of users that used purchase this company's Hardware that currently are not so it can't be possible that all the people hate Nintendo currently are just haters who never owned their platforms statistically it's more likely they've owned Nintendo platforms in the past and clearly are not purchasing them this time because of their disdain of the company

In my honest opinion, I really believe the Switch will fail. Ever since I first saw the reveal commercial. I knew it would flop. I'd bet money on it. But, good luck.

I felt optimistic about the reveal commercial , I begin to feel more worried when they had their official press conference and it was just absent of so many Triple A games and Nintendo's marketing just didn't really make any sense cuz they're still trying to convey this as a Home console when it's very clear their own messaging is causing people to continuously compare it to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when in reality they were probably best just taking the high road and comparing it to the PlayStation Vita or just saying it was Replacements to the 3DS so instead of having the most powerful handheld there no marketing it as the weakest console.

This company is just too damn stupid to get it right it is very clear they're just not that bright and they just don't understand all the mistakes that they're continuously doing the fact that they kept flip-flopping from what they are going to do with the 3DS tells me that there's infighting within the company it sounds like part of the company wants to switch to just be there only platform and another part of the company wants to have the 3DS as a backup or even another handheld and it just sounds like they're not one hundred percent focused on one platform so if they're not confident in this one platform why should I be? So spend money on their second choice? So what happens when they start playing favorites again with a new handheld? When Sony release the PlayStation 4 they made it very clear all their major teams world working on PlayStation 4 everyone who bought that platform felt very confident the company that was supporting it was releasing all their games on that platform even some of their PlayStation Vita games were remastered on PlayStation 4.

I'm not sure how many people want to repeat of 3DS vs Wii U.

The only way I even care to consider this as a purchase is if they make it absolutely clear that they are not working on another set of Hardware because it just doesn't make any damn sense ,make a platform support the f$#king platform.

Stop playing favorites
stop holding back content and having all these other teams working and all these other areas , of course people don't feel okay about purchasing something like the Wii U you're putting it up against the 3DS.

So when these idiots come out and State that they are considering a 3DS successor all that tells me is don't buy the switch they have another favorite that's ready to get more support.

This company is just completely stupid, their incompetence is literally one of the craziest things I've ever seen in any industry.

They are literally cannibalizing their own sales and it is extremely clear by the circus that's one on the last couple weeks that within the company they are very much confused about where they're even going to put the 3DS cuz it's starting to sound like someone within that company is scared of failing and they want the 3DS as backup or possibly another handheld so if they're not confident about the switch , neither am I, I'm going to wait about a year to possibly two years before I purchase it because this company has just made way too many mistakes to waste $300 on one game.

Personally, I don't care but I have and still, own all Nintendo consoles up to the GameCube as well as quite a few games so I am not anti-Nintendo. I stopped buying Nintendo when the Wii was introduced and have not been back since.

It is important to note that if you have preordered a Switch (strongly suggest you do) it would be a good idea to check that your order has not been canceled to avoid disappointment. If you have your preorder validated then you should be ok.

Basically, it appears that the scalpers are now out in force (see eBay) and selling their preorders at two to four times the RRP for the Switch. See https://www.destructoid.com... although a simple web search will validate what I have said.

I'm not, will buy Zelda for my Wii U then wait until Mario Odyssey before I consider buying a Switch. It looks like a great idea but Nintendo are releasing in such a raw form that I just can't support that yet. Come November time, it'll have enough games to justify the purchase and hopefully by then, the console will have a more realised feature set.

I have only regretted one of my console purchases, and it was not a Nintendo console. I thoroughly enjoyed every Nintendo system. Do the Wii and Wii U have problems? Yes, they do. The Wii was gimmicky, and the Wii U had a small lineup of games. But I still thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

I am really excited for the Switch. I'll be getting Zelda and I am Setsuna at launch. Followed by Binding of Isaac Afterbirth Plus, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Yooka-Laylee, Disgaea 5 Complete, Dragon Quest Heroes 1+2, Dragon Quest XI, Skyrim. Sure, none of them are exclusive, but they will all keep me VERY occupied, with the added benefit that I can play them anywhere I want, unlike other versions of those games. I might even get Splatoon 2. Not sure though.

But then at the end of the year, that is when the BIG exclusives come out. Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors (Yeah, I know, it is coming to New 3DS, but the Switch version will run much better). Then next year and beyond: fire emblem, shin megami tensei, a hinted at pokemon game. All that and we haven't even hit any potential Nintendo directs that could happen this year or E3.

I am NOT worried, and I highly doubt I will regret my day one purchase. I have already listed 13 games coming out that I am interested in that are coming out within the first year of the system's release. That is better than many previous Nintendo consoles. Hell, as much as I love my PS4, there were only 10 games max that I owned for the system by the end of its first year, including ports and remakes.

So once again... I am NOT worried.

For me it will be Arms, Zelda, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Snipperclips. Xenoblade X is my most anticipated game, but I can smell a delay for it to 2018 from a mile. Lol.

I'm also interested in Bomberman X and Puyo Puyo Tetris, but not at full price. Will wait for those to hit the bargain bin.

Also Yooka Laylee, if it does well in reviews.

Skyrim is also a possibility, not sure though. I'm feeling pretty burnt with open worlds already, and with Witcher 3 pending on my backlog and Zelda coming out soon I don't know if I have enough space for Skyrim. :P

Those are the kind of games I expect to see on the system. Along with stuff like Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Bravely Default, Dragon Quest and the like.

Nintendo haven't really announced what they're doing yet for VC. I'm not super confident that they will have vc ready, and even when they do, we don't know what systems and games will be released. I know i wasn't impressed with what they did with the Wii U.

The best time to buy the Switch will be on the black friday, where even without the drops you find on Sony and Microsoft, it will be cheaper then the high price on launch, could get also a game free or more, gamepad cheaper and so on.

At launch is just a rip off the amount of money you need to spend to buy the machine and ONE game. Dont even think on buying the gamepad, because it can get to 500...

More, the price of the online service will be already out and have more games.

The 14 millions gamers with a Wii U can buy also zelda, the diference is almost zero, beside a little better rez.

Ok so you got people coming to websites saying a couple of things that absolutely no sense.

1. The switch is overpriced. ( do people not know how companies make money. When you have a product you have to make money). Plus Nintendo already said they are not taking a L on the switch so get over it.

3. I'll get it with a special bundle and a price drop. Yeah that's exactly what they did with the Wii U. I love the fact that Nintendo doesn't con gamers buy throwing a price drop out there. You do one and people beg for another one.

I can't remember the PS4 not selling off hype there were no games and then there were games that weren't the greatest and that commercial greatness awaits sold the PS4. The system had a huge hype train.

To all the people knocking the switch go ahead and do so because all the people who have Actually played the system love it. Developers love it and I think with all the missteps Nintendo has made it they are finally winning the battle of hype.

I think people should stop pre-ordering stuff like I have said long before. Don't feed the game companies when they even havent earned it yet. Just wait and see reviews, previews, you name it and then think should you buy one. If you have pre-ordered then at least don't go and get it t launch. This same thing should be with games as well. Didn't anyone learned from No Man's Sky?

I wish I had waited when I bought my PS3 for £425 at launch, especially when only one decent game was available.

But I love it when new consoles are released, there's nothing better having something new on release day, I get a real buzz from it.

The Switch is another step in console evolution and I can't wait to get my hands on one, everyone who has played it has had positive things to say. Less than 2 weeks 😄

Do not tell me what I should not do with my money :) I wasn't burned on Wii U because I got rid of it long before the droughts happened. Yeah, while the launch line up is sparse, I will have enough (Zelda and Bomberman) to keep me busy until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is released in April, Shovel Knight and all the expansions will be releasing near launch, Splatoon 2 will also keep me busy during it's release in the summer, whatever they announce at E3 should help fuel the fire, and the big game, Super Mario Odyssey will be out. Not counting all the virtual console ready, (if ready) eshop titles that exclusively digital, and anything else I may be interested in. I have no problem shelling out the $300 for a hybrid console that has a lot of bang for your buck. I could not care any less that the platform is less powerful than the XB1/PS4. I do not play a game console based on it's power, I play the console on the quality of it's releases. I do not care that right now that the launch library will be disappointing to some, I will have enough to sustain me year 1. I do not care that the battery life of the portable mode is not the best. Unless I want to play in my bed, the device will be docked about 98% of the time. I will be getting the console at launch. No one is forcing anyone who thinks they should wait to get one to actually purchase it at launch... Stop being ridiculous and absurd to the millions of other people who are genuinely excited for the platform, and that will be getting it day 1. So I say again, do not tell me what I should not do with my money.

Yeah I don't plan to get one for at least an entire year. I got burned off on the WiiU and I'm not making that mistake again. It needs 5 games that I absolutely want and right now there's only 2 I'm interested in, that being Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda BOTW. I am semi-interested in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and maybe Fire Emblem but I'm not completely sold on em either.

The other games that I want Nintendo to announce is a new Pikmin game which we do know is coming at some point, a PROPER METROID game, and maybe a new action/adventure IP or hack 'n slash like Bayonetta 3. And I do not care to buy multiplayer games for switch since it requires a fee so Nintendo need to prove that. So Mario Kart 8, a possible Smash port, and Splatoon 2 are games I do not have interst in buying. (Hopefully splatoon 2 has a good campaign though)

* there's no promises that this will ever happen with bundling. Considering how popular the Nintendo Mini NES classic is, can you get one now? considering it's been released back in Nov 2016? For someone who has the opportunity to purchase a switch and have the means of buying one, why wait? In my opinion, waiting on Nintendo has always been a mistake.

I've learned to wait at least a year before buying a new console. There's no need to rush. The games will be there to play when I get one. I have plenty of games to play on PS4 and PS3.

The Switch looks like crap but I have never understood waiting to get a console. Just get it day 1 and enjoy it rather than waiting a year to save $50. Gamers are really cheap though. Personally, I don't care about Zelda and there's nothing else at launch so I won't get one on launch day.

But Im a fanboy and have to. I have to buy everything Nintendo makes day 1. Because Zelda and Mario. Those are the greatest games ever. Its not about the graphics guys...*zombies out to a slow Reggie tone*...its about the experience.
Dont worry about paying for a network thats never had anything. You can use your phone app. Have I mentioned its portable? All those parties I go to I can now sit and play 1 2 Switch. Girls? Ha! More like Splatoon 2.
We can both play. Im going for the extra joy cons. Theyre only $80.

I bought the Wii U at launch. I will not make that mistake a second time. Nintendo is going to have to PROVE themselves to me over a 6 month to year period that the system is not going to be a horrible failure.... and I have absolutely NO use for mobile gaming, so they are off to a very bad start w/ me as is.

I agree but I think people already know this.some people just like to buy the latest gadgets/games. I for one will wait because the only game I see that's worth getting g is Zelda, if I could manage to get a switch on launch with Zelda I would buy it, I think Zelda will hold me over until a good tittle comes out but then again when I start to think about it I think I'll wait until the end of this year all the way to even next year and see how well the system does, if it gets a price drop and better games come out for it.

I remember getting the 3ds on launch and was very upset about my purchase. Street fighter was the only good game in it but it got boring quickly. I regretted my purchase and sold my 3ds but bought another one when the games started to roll out. I think I'll pass on the switch for now and besides, I have lots of 3ds games I haven't player and beatenjoy yet that'll hold me over until next year.

Lastly Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves having all the time in the world to produce a stellar launch line up of healthy games but instead they chose to hold on to dev kits just so the public wouldn't know they were using weak specs for their new console which is really a handheld instead of letting developers make games for the system before it even drops smh. Only time will tell how the swrich will fair but then again which console ever had a good launch line up? It's best to wait.

The fact that Nintendo is being cocky by pricing the Switch much higher than the competition is mind boggling considering they previously failed massively with the Wii U. Lastly it will be very hard outside of Japan for this thing to sell when the competition is offering a better value.

It's an ironic problem, really. The less that people support the unit at launch, the harder it will be for Nintendo to actually invest in the unit. Then again, launch bundles are usually lackluster. I'm taking a chance with Nintendo and have decided to pre-order.

This is stupid, with the switch not having much games at launch ya there isn't much but anyone getting one is there for zelda. The system is going to be sold out and most likely for a while. They still have arms, splatoon 2 and mario kart coming and by the time there is a restock those games will be out to push more sales. Mario will be at the end to push sales for christmas. Why make a article about don't buy a switch at launch when it doesn't even matter cause you probably won't get one anyways.

As much as i like Nintendo and the idea of the switch i agree with the points in the article. The launch title games aside maybe 2 are not enough to last people for long. I will wait until more games come out. Hopefully by then they will announce system bundles too.

I'm 50/50 about adopting the Switch early on. This platform simply cannot take off successfully if nobody is willing to give it a starting chance. It needs early adopters. If none of you are willing to buy it reasonably soon after launch then go ahead and consider the console to be a flop. Third party support won't come in the way you want it if they aren't seeing a profitable platform.
Simply put, the Switch desperately needs more system sellers for me, and if have a few system sellers for the Switch then I'll be playing one by the end of summer.
