Mathijs de Jonge
@Battelfield32 No, that's the game installing on hdd, afaik.

MRMagoo1233371d ago

only 250mb patch?? wow! sounds like GG polished and completed the game before releasing it ! My god! it's unheard of this gen!!!

Krangs_Uncle3371d ago (Edited 3371d ago )

Shows what a sham of a site ThisGenGaming is.. As they were reporting it being a 15gb patch or something.... They've had their last chance with me now.

I would rather trust a childs knowledge of quantum mechanics.

MRMagoo1233371d ago

it's all about getting that add revenue with the clicks

MasterCornholio3371d ago

What a sham. They really should have checked before posting that article.

rainslacker3370d ago

LOL. TGG waiting for a comment from the publisher or developer? If they did that, they'd have no "news" to report on, and couldn't get easy hits.

It is cute that you assume they're real journalists over there though. So adorable.:-P

peewee110163371d ago

Yeah when it comes to playstaion they always have something stupid to say. But be carful they cant take people opinions or criticisms lol so they bann ur comments and what not

SatanicEyeJesus3371d ago

This site always try to muddle with ps releases. This site sucks.

WeAreLegion3370d ago

Every time I try to say this site should be removed, I get tons of backlash.

Nice, I'm happy for you!
:)

Relientk773371d ago (Edited 3371d ago )

Thank God, 16 GB patch would have taken me forever to download

ClayRules20123371d ago

Same here. That would have taken me about 2-3 days to download.

Relientk773371d ago

Wow that's actually worse then me...I was thinking 12 hours at the minimum idk

andrewsquall3371d ago

Wow, I have 4 megabit internet and I still would have downloaded that in about 10 to 11 hours. So that means It takes about 40 minutes for me to download about 1gb. You internet is around less than 1 meg then?

cellfluid3370d ago

Step ya bandwidth up playa you laggin lol

Shakengandulf3371d ago

Having moved house.. i dont have a connection so this is good news for me.

ClayRules20123371d ago

Haha, no lie. That bad =( 12 hours isn't so bad. I'm glad it's not anywhere near as bad on your end, bud!

Aenea3371d ago

Meh, 20 minutes, tops.... Or 10 minutes if get myself the faster package from my ISP...

Where on earth are you guys living that you have crap internet like that? A rural area?

andrewsquall3371d ago

Its called Ireland. Rural Ireland lol.

ClayRules20123371d ago

I'm glad you don't have that problem, bud. Lol.

@andrewsquall
I always wanted to live in Ireland. Now you've kinda made me not want to, lol. Also, my internet is crap.

pecorre3370d ago

I live in very very rural middle of nowhere Canada and I have a 30 Mbits internet connection. It would probably take me less than 30 minutes for a 16gb patch.

rainslacker3370d ago (Edited 3370d ago )

I wonder when console makers are going to allow us to download day one patches before day one. I mean, we can select what games we're getting so we can start downloading ahead of time.

Anyhow, I live in a rural area, and I actually have pretty fast internet. So I guess I'm lucky. there are fast internet options for some rural areas which don't have land service. Not sure how that applies outside the US, or how much it would cost. But I know that not everyone wants to pay more for high speed internet, so some have very basic service, which could take a while to download large files.

@Bathy

Think it depends on the game. For something like Horizon, I wouldn't. I'll just restart the game once the download is finished.

Aenea3370d ago

@rain

Yeah, been wondering that myself. You can now download DLC for instance when you don't have the game installed and the download queue just says it's been downloaded and waiting to be installed. Why not add the possibility to select game patches to download even when it's not installed yet...

Bathyj3370d ago

It wouldnt have been the end of the world. Do people actually wait for patches? If I put a game in and it has a patch I play without it. Then I have it the next day. I dont care if its 16gb or 250mb, when I put Horizon in Im playing right away. Patch be damned.

It's almost as if some random post on neogaf shouldn't be used as source material for 'news'...

Although the 'afaik' is odd, and it seems like a tiny install. Either way, no day one 16GB patch is hugely welcomed

Genuine-User3371d ago (Edited 3371d ago )

NeoGAF can be used as a source, if verified of course. The problem with the 16GB patch story last night was that ThisGenGaming either falsely or mistakenly reported the initial install as a day one patch.

Fishy Fingers3371d ago

Oh I agree, that's why I said 'random post', plenty of industry professionals use it to engage with the community. So like you said, when it's verified it can be a valuable source.

To be fair, I take the bulk of gaming 'news' from lesser sites with a pinch of salt anyway.

butchertroll3371d ago

That GAF member never said it is a day one patch install.

Taero3370d ago

The 'tiny install' is the amount needed to be installed to the HDD before the game is playable (16gb apparently), it'll keep installing in the background while you start it up.

30fps sucks. Especially on an OLED.
