ThisGenGaming says "As everyone expected, For Honor's servers are running terribly with many issues causing the game to not even be playable due to crashing or the servers being down."

but is this really true, though? the game just had its beta very recently, right? I heard nothing but good things from the beta (I didn't personally participate) but how come it's a mess now? if it's true, then WTF was the beta for? was it really a beta or a playable demo?

CorndogBurglar3372d ago (Edited 3372d ago )

I played for about 3 hours and didn't have a single issue. Its a really fun, strategic fighter.

badz1493372d ago

I was wondering about it too because thisgengaming is notorious for overblowing stuff up.

The closed beta, just 2 weeks before the open beta, was complete garbage and I'm not sure if they ever even got 4v4 working by the end of it because I deleted the game. They have had networking/matchmaking issues since the very first alpha.

Liqu1d3372d ago

Connection issues have been a thing since the alpha, the latest beta was just a demo.

Of course, it's Ubisoft. I expected nothing less which is why I'm not buying their games this gen

This is why that failed policy of always online is never ready. Can you imagine if Microsoft still made Xbox One always online? The Xbox One would die long before this year! Now Look at For Honor have online issues already!

morganfell3372d ago

This is also what happens when you have a beta that isn't a beta but is instead just a sales pitch.

1nsomniac3372d ago

Absolutely. Releasing a "beta" a week before release after the game has clearly already gone gold. Shows that It was exactly that just a sales pitch.

samden3372d ago (Edited 3372d ago )

I don't think @morganfell or @1nsomniac realize that For Honor has had multiple closed alphas and a closed beta. The open beta was, like every other open "beta" right before release, a stress test. You seem so quick to hate without understanding/knowing what you are talking about.

1nsomniac3372d ago

@Samden I'm a member of the For Honor sign-up community. I've been a part of all the Alpha's/Beta's, I've even mentioned this in a post below.

... Maybe you seem a little quick to judge & make incorrect assumptions without paying proper attention or just to willing to make negative comments regarding others. You could even say just not understanding what you're talking about.... :-)

morganfell3372d ago

@samden, I am well aware. Your assumption is incorrect. It is impossible to do a proper closed alpha or beta stress test of server structure. You just do not have the bodies. I have tested various titles for decades, and if the game is expected to sell in volume and they do not conduct a proper open beta then they are flirting with disaster.

And that's just one game not an entire console with all the games. I'm not buying into always online
