Mass Effect: Andromeda Pathfinder Video

This keeps looking better and better.   EA and the European Space Agency announced today that the Mass Effect: Andromeda Andromeda Initiative has selected six YouTube content creators to go through a series of real-life training sessions within the European Astronaut Centre, home base for all European astronauts.

PixelGateUk3311d ago

Still not sure about this tbh

Garethvk3311d ago

You need patience as I remember with the first one I spent a day or so just exploring a station and talking to everyone I saw. I just wanted to get into the ship and fly off so for me, having to mix the action and exploration with the looking around and side stuff was a trick.

Perjoss3311d ago (Edited 3311d ago )

The first citadel section in ME1 was excellent but they should have split it in half because I remember it taking hours if you were doing it completionist style. I really think they should have sent you away for a mission about half way through that segment and then brought you back again to finish it off. As you said people were just itching to get out there and explore.

Perjoss3311d ago

I'm a huge fan of ME 1,2 and 3 and I have Andromeda on preorder, but I'm thinking I might just cancel and wait for reviews instead, I just have a strange feeling about this one.

Garethvk3311d ago

What are your concerns? Is it the new locale and that it covers new characters?

Perjoss3311d ago

Lots of the stuff they have shown looks really good and i really like the fact that its supposed to be 20,000 people adrift really far from earth, but I'm still quite worried about the dialog system and choices, unless I've missed some info they seem to be showing off everything apart from the stuff that really matters in ME games, the interactions with other crew and whether or not choices will have a meaningful impact on the progression of the story.

Garethvk3311d ago

Those are good reasons. I think they have to be cautious. People hated the ME3 ending so much that they had to change it down the road. So they are trying to balance doing something new but trying to keep the fans happy as they may have lost some of the audience over parts of the last game.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast410d ago (Edited 410d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul410d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow410d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake410d ago (Edited 410d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast452d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine452d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast452d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman452d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast451d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein487d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics487d ago (Edited 487d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac486d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992487d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX487d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9487d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne487d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast486d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne486d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog486d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay487d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000487d ago (Edited 487d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon486d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT486d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon486d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139487d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein487d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
