EA back in the early PS2/Xbox/GC-era actually put out some pretty good licensed games, notably 007 Nightfire , 007 Everything or Nothing and some of their Lord of The Rings games.

TheFirstClassic2508d ago

The world is not enough had a really good game made by eurocom on n64, it was overshadowed by goldeneye and perfect dark unfortunately, I think it has aged better in certain ways, and it had a better framerate. I miss the old days of solid bond games.

0hMyGandhi2508d ago

There were a bunch of fun Bond games, but Goldeneye and World's Not Enough (running on the ski lines in multiplayer was too much fun back in day)

Nightfire was also really great, as well.

PowerOfTheCloud2508d ago

Yup first game that came to my mind. Was better than the movie imho

0hMyGandhi2508d ago

Escape from Butcher Bay remains one of the best games I've ever played.

Leeroyw2508d ago

They managed to make a prison feel real and dangerous. Brilliant

I enjoyed "The Great Escape" game on the PS2. Also "The Thing" on PS2 wasnt to bad. Unfortunately it was to hard at the time when I was younger.

Literal_Cringe2508d ago

6th gen in general was a really good gen for licensed games, so many surprising gems from that time

0hMyGandhi2508d ago

Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Avatar: The game
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

And love it or hate it, Enter The Matrix really scratched the itch for Matrix games as well.

Venoxn4g2507d ago

I prefered matrix: path of neo much more

Top 10 Sequels Nobody Asked For

COGconnected: Some sequels come as a result of the artists behind it truly believing an IP deserves a second chance, could be improved with just a few small tweaks, or is indeed good enough to warrant a sequel. These ones do not.

Loads of people asked for a sequel to Knack, including myself.

The first game was good fun, clearly rushed for launch, but a good launch title for PS4.

rainslacker2791d ago

Yeah, I know a lot of people who liked the game, and said they wouldn't mind a sequel which improved on the original.

SuperSonic912791d ago

Knack 2 is so much fun for couch co-op.

sprinterboy2791d ago

Great for co/op keeping the kids entertained

Platformgamer2790d ago

you stole the words from my mouth.
knack is so underrated

NotanotherReboot2790d ago

So how come "loads of people" didn't buy the game?

Teflon022790d ago

Half a milli is pretty fine for that game actually

rainslacker2790d ago

Loads of people did. Loads of people also played it on PS+.

Although, I don't really know what the actual numerical value is of a load, unless it's the kind of load that we usually see used to criticize Sony or its games.

Akarogg 2790d ago

It sold about as well as Doom on Switch

The great dunk spoke, and knack 2 was goty before it even dropped. Spaghetti. Meatballs. Puerto Rico.

Amplitude2791d ago

Knack 2 and Kane and Lynch 2 were so good
Cool article though aha mostly all true.

Still waiting for Kanye and Lynch 3 to solve that insane cliffhanger ending

PhantomS422790d ago

I will always want more Naughty Bear. Those games are like bad SyFy movies, just so awful but so fun.

Retroman2790d ago (Edited 2790d ago )

Knack 1-2 was Fantastic...,.... hope Knack 3 being developed.
Can't wait for Ratchet and clank 2
Ps4

King_Noctis2790d ago

I wonder what would happen if Knack was multiplatform. Would people defend it that much.

rainslacker2790d ago (Edited 2790d ago )

I think people probably wouldn't even pay attention to it at all. There is no denying that exclusives do get a bit of a bump in notoriety. Same could be said for any number of mid-tier game which is multi-plat. It doesn't really get that much attention outside of an announcement, maybe an occasional screen shot or marketing blurb, and then some reviews on release. Quite a few mid-tier titles that are exclusive...especially those from 1st party, get a lot more attention.

That being said, the first one was pretty fun for a launch title. The second one was really good, although still had some room to do things better.

GRAW2 and Ninja Gaiden 2 and I’ll be set. I’m a little bitter though you can’t buy Splinter Cell Blacklist digitally, I certainly would have bought a new copy to play, I don’t have my disc anymore and I’ll never own another game on disc. Same thing happened with Red River, not sure why it happens but it is disappointing.

Sophisticated_Chap2848d ago

You can actually buy Blacklist digitally:

https://marketplace.xbox.co...

I agree with you though, we need GRAW2, but the game that I am really waiting for is The Darkness (the first game). I just played through GRAW1, and it was the first time that I had ever played the Xbox 360 version. It was good, but GRAW2 is definitely heads and tails above it in terms of the campaign.

It they could ever manage to release FEAR1 digitally, that would be awesome, but not likely.

AK912848d ago

Would love Dishonored 1 and the Batman Arkham games on BC, the remastered versions of those games is hot garbage.

DivineAssault 2848d ago

Do people actually play 360 games on the xb1 or do they kinda toy around for a while to check out the improvements? Im curious because i cant stand last gen games

annoyedgamer2847d ago

Yes, especially the miltiplayer games. I used it for Black Ops 2.

DivineAssault 2847d ago

I can see that. I dont like shooters but if you play those, i guess youd be really into the BC

Einhander19712847d ago

I bought the Xbox one X because of the backwards compatibility. Last gen games look amazing, Gears, Red dead look incredible in 4K. Still some of the best games were on last gen.

Lon3wolf2847d ago

Infinite Undiscovery is the only one I'm waiting on, I replayed Blue Dragon when it hit BC.
