In this case, only seeing is believing. I doubt the next GTA will come to switch, maybe a spinoff or older GTA games remastered

gumgum3312d ago

Well if smartphones can run GTA, I am pretty sure some sort of GTA title can come to Switch. It won't be like GTA V or something but there is potential

Neonridr3312d ago

if the 360 can run GTA V, then so could the Switch.

_-EDMIX-_3311d ago

I might disagree with that.

GTAV seems very likely.

Switch very much can run GTAV.

I would assume so based on the popularity of GTA and its not as if a Nintendo portable has not received a GTA game before

objdadon3311d ago

It should be able to run gta 5. Problem is if Rockstar is willing to do the extra work. I'd buy it again on the switch if they did.

Would take two put resources and a seperate team into creating a gta lite for switch?

Seriously doubt it.. Too much effort ,man power, and resources involved considering Nintendo fanbase is not typically known for those kinda games... Huge risk, and we don't even know if switch will be another Wii u in terms of sales

All new consoles have a buzz at the beginning check out the launch to the Wii u

TFJWM3311d ago

@DARKKENT "Would take two put resources and a seperate team into creating a gta lite for switch?"

It is not that weak that it would be "GTA lite" and it being portable would more than pay for itself have you not seen how well it is still selling these days.

vergilxx33311d ago

they haven't released any sort of gta for ps vita , i don't see why switch would be different
Nintendo would have to pay them a lot of money to do that , "i am pretty sure"rockstar wouldn't bother porting
gta v to it if there wasn't a ton of money in it for them

EddieNX 3311d ago

Even undocked gtav would look a bit better than it did on 360. Docked it would look great.

They've made GTA games for Nintendo's handhelds before, so that wouldn't surprise me. I wouldn't expect something as massive as GTA V, but I could definitely see something coming to the Switch.

Moonman3312d ago

Chinatown Wars 2 or a spiritual sequel with a complete graphical and gameplay evolution would be awesome. Rockstar can easily dip into their DuckTales style swimming money bin and milk GTA V one more time if they want too.

porkChop3312d ago

Yeah they could easily port GTA V considering it ran on the PS3 and 360. I'm just not sure if they'll port that or make something new to take advantage of the Switch's features.

_-EDMIX-_3311d ago

I disagree.

I would expect GTA V as I don't see how it can't run on Switch considering its on 360.

porkChop3311d ago

That's really not what I meant. I meant if they made an exclusive I don't think it would be on the same scale as GTA V. Of course the Switch could run GTA V.

_-EDMIX-_3311d ago

Well I agree in the situation if they hypothetically made a specific GTA title for the switch like they did with China Wars.

Maybay3312d ago

Port the old school 3D GTA titles (PS2 to 360 era), and maybe IV. I want V on Switch, though there isn't any rush.

pcz3310d ago

i think any GTA title on switch would be a major asset to the system and a great sign to consumers about 3rd party support.

but yeh, i'l believe it when i see it

StormLegend3311d ago

The last gen version of GTAV can be on switch, it is stronger than the WiiU

_-EDMIX-_3311d ago

Well I'd assume GTAV could even run on the Wii U.

sk8ofmnd3311d ago (Edited 3311d ago )

I dont doubt the switch can run last gen or some current gen 3rd partys... Its if customers are willing to take the same game graphically paired with a new game price ($60)... And when these games dont sell... 😲

_-EDMIX-_3311d ago

@sk8-well I don't see it really performing that badly in regards to sales if you consider I don't think it's going to cost them that much money to transfer it over to such a platform

EddieNX 3311d ago

@skteofmind a portable version of gtav would be amazing. Even in handheld mode the switch is significantly more capable than 360. 4gb ram vs 0.5gb for example. And it has dx11 equivalent and more GFLOPS etc. When docked it would look close to the remaster.

jonivtec3311d ago

If im not mistaken.....Its stronger than the wii u in portable mode....

Emme3311d ago

Might be as strong, but doubt the stronger...

Enigma_20993311d ago

Hell, re-release III, Vice City and San Andreas on the d*** thing! Watch them sell! Maybe sprinkle a little Red Dead in there too, hmmm....

sk8ofmnd3311d ago

Never going to happen. Im willing to bet nintendo would price gouge ppl for those games and they would hardly sell the way they did. $40 for a 20 year old game (ultra street fighter 2) and $60 for a 7 year old game (skyrim).

porkChop3311d ago (Edited 3311d ago )

Are you from the future or something? Skyrim just turned 5. It came out at the end of 2011.

Tigerblud3311d ago

Skyrim just released on current generation last year and many bought it has a 4 year old game.

porkChop3311d ago

Don't tell him that Tigerblud, it doesn't fit his narrative.

deafdani3311d ago

Nintendo doesn't control the pricing of third party games, dude. Ultra SF II at $40 is Capcom's doing, and Skyrim for $60 is Bethesda's.
