The new texture pack barely offers any incentive to download more than 50 GB of data.
Fallout 4 on Switch 2 offers 30fps, 40fps, and 60fps modes, with graphics settings differing from PS4 and PS5 versions.

Following Fallout 4's anniversary update, Nexus Mods have assebled an Anniversary Collection of existing mods designed to offer a free refresh as an alternative

A decade on from its Game of the Year-winning triumph, Todd Howard reminisces on how Fallout 4 changed Bethesda Game Studios, its TV show adaptation and playtesting The Elder Scrolls 6.
They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.
Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.
So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.
I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
Looks like a tiny bit higher resolution and an added detail layer with scratches, added dirt, rocks, etc... Its something, but Im not sure the jump that most higher end PC owners were looking for. I think what we are looking at here is the lowest common denominator taking precedence. Though, I dont know what more anyone can expect from a game that came out almost a year and a half ago. Its not like Bethesda is seeing any more money from this update. This was strictly fan service and a boost for those who bought the PS4 Pro.
I dont think it will look as bad as people think it will, as if this same upgrade in detail and resolution carries across every or most of the textures in the game... it should look really good. And, lets face it... its not like the games performance was great anyways. So, I dont think they could go too nuts without alienating 90% of the PC population.
I think fans of the game should be grateful that Bethesda went back to this aging title and did this for those who love it. They really see no benefit from doing so. Its their way of saying thank you and we should thak them. I know I, as a Pro owner, am extremely grateful to get the patch.
I think they need a new engine, I loved fallout 4 but not much graphical improvement over new vegas. It's hardly better than the call of duty graphical improvements.
Probably (certainly) get better looking and performing mods.
58gb of scratches?
Basically your downloading all the texture work again from the original game uncompressed which is why the massive download.
But obviously the textures were not much better to begin with.
I would not waste my time, lol.
