Ninja Theory announces Hellblade 2017 release

Ninja Theory reassures gamers that Hellblade will indeed be released in 2017 for PS4 and PC.

Relientk773388d ago

As if PS4 didn't already have enough games coming out. Damn, Sony just keeps on piling up the games

MellauxGMNG3388d ago

this was announced about 2 years ago

MasterCornholio3388d ago

Other games were announced several years ago as well. But thankfully this one will release.

bouzebbal3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

and coming out this year!! why do you cry?
looks promising i cannot wait for more!
This will make me wait for God of War, like Heavenly Sword with GOW3 years back!

DarXyde3388d ago

It's pretty much the Crackdown 3 of Playstation, the difference being that Ninja Theory appears to actually be on track to materialize their product.

Not to say Crackdown is not, we just haven't heard much of late.

GtR35olution3388d ago

Im buying this game day one. I cant wait. So many games coming for ps4 this year. Horizon zero dawn is a big title coming in three weeks which is day one for me also.

King_Lothric3388d ago

Scalebound was announced more than 2 years ago and it was canceled so... What is your point?

Goldby3388d ago

@King.

doesnt work like that, Scale bound isn't a indie game, Hellblade is. Ninja Theory would be the ones deciding if it gets cancelled, and after all the work they ahve put into it, they would be retarded to cancel now

AcidDvl3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

...

S2Killinit3388d ago

Gotta love the onslaught of games on Playatation. That's what I love about Playstations they get better and better as a generation continues.

QUIMICOMORTAL3387d ago

the same that scalebound and crackdown 3...where are those?

Knushwood Butt3387d ago

Crackdown 3 is still trying to harness the power of teh CLOUD.

MellauxGMNG3387d ago

My point is that he spoke as if they only just announced this game, but im sure this was already scheduled to come out this year.

PS4 is exploding 2017 (literally i forbiden myself to retouch my credit card for some time) ......i just wonder are they preparing analoguous non stop flow of quality titles for 2018 ? i dont want to believe that this year will be the best in PS4 's life....i m ultra curious to see what will happen in 2018 (from game perspective) with Scorpio reshuffling the waters of console industry

Kingthrash3603388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

2018 possibilities.
Spiderman
Gow
Detroit
Tlou2
Ff7 remake
Days gone
That's just off the top of my head, and 2018 looking fantastic with just these games alone. Im Sure I'm missing some more..

BlakHavoc3388d ago

@king

I highly doubt TLOU2 will be here in 2018. That would only give it a 2 year dev cycle.

IamTylerDurden13388d ago

King

Sucker Punch's new IP i believe will definitely release by 2018.

Perhaps Dreams in 2018, if it doesn't make 2017.

That Game Company.

WiLD could be 2018.

mkis0073388d ago

Blak Havok

TLOU2 had actually been in development for 2 years prior to its announcement. I think late 2018 is their target.

Kingthrash3603387d ago

^^ my thoughts exactly
Its been in development for 2 years so 2018 is a year it may land. All of the games I've mentioned has a possibility to be delayed, but these are all possible 2018 games.
I was gunna say suckerpunches game and was gunna go on the limb and say bloodborne 2 but I didn't want to reach.
E3 will she'd some light on what's gunna come next year and what they have in store for beyond 2018.
There are still so much under the radar exclusive games coming this year though too...like FF12

Knushwood Butt3387d ago

Dreams is vapourware. I'm all for supporting unique games but how MM gets away with it is a mystery.

But wait, aren't you guys going to be playing this on your PCs?

3388d ago
Sparta073388d ago

Well we have the option. I'll be playing it on my Pro.
HellBlade is not an exclusive, we are not pretending it is unlike the other guys who own the other console. It's a console exclusive. I'm sorry it hurts you that some people are happy a game is coming out to their console of choice.

alb18993388d ago

Is a big 2017 for SONY. Maybe god of war will be move to 2018

Fist4achin3388d ago

I'm still fired up about this game. Can't wait! Oh yeah, ninjas are awesome!

IamTylerDurden13387d ago (Edited 3387d ago )

Hellblade is a spiritual successor to Heavenly Sword, and Heavenly Sword was great.

Good that it's coming this year.

:)

DevilOgreFish3387d ago

I liked watching all of the vidocs, interesting stuff. there's just one thing that I noticed about the videos. Is the whole game only about Senua? In the 2 years or so I haven't seen any other characters to the story of this game. I wonder about that.

XXanderXX3388d ago

So where's the Xbox version , seeing how it's on PC also.

Razzer3388d ago

Not one. Doesn't work that way

XXanderXX3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

Then game will be bought at massive discount or from bargain bin for PC , best winning scenario.
That's how this BS is handled and works that way for me .

@Imalways
They are not obligated , but seem they don't want money,. if that's the case my method best suits me all around to BS of this nature .

Cause it puts an end to I don't need a Xbox to play BS and force people to buy the console and gives MS a reason to still manufacture a console.
That why it matters , plus I enjoy my Xbox and Nintendo combo .

Imalwaysright3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

BS? Since when are devs obliged to release their games on the X1 or any other platform? Also PC and Xbox are 2 different platforms.

Edit: What's wrong with MS supporting PC? What does it matter to you if a PC gamer gets to play the same games that you're playing in your Xbox?

Goldby3388d ago

@XXanderXX

you haven't been following this game at all or you would know why they "don't seem to want money"

This is an independent game that Ninja Theory is developing. there is no publisher for them. they have assistance with the tech companies involved. the Reason is it indipendant is becuase they dont want some publisher making the final calls for a game about Depression, PTSD. becuase the publishers will want the game to sell, and will make sacrifices to the imagery and how the mental health is portrayed in game.

This game is backed not only by Wellcome Trust, but also has some first hand experience with people who suffer with voices and hallucination on a day to day basis. this sin't goign to be some flashy, fancy all go happy and lucky in the end kind of game. this game is gonna be a representative of the nightmares some of us deal with on a day to day basis, and how it will help those people begin a healing process.

bluefox7553388d ago

@XXanderXX The difference is, PS4 still has games that can only be played on PS4. If they ALL came to PC, then maybe you'd have a point.

krypt19833388d ago

There is one Sony has a exclusive window for a year ..

That doesn't mean much. Nier is also on PC but not on Xbox, same goes for Ni No Kuni II, for example.

ShadowKnight3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

Tbh Nier doesn't have an official release date for PC yet. I been keeping track of it for a while because I want the pc version.

game4funz3388d ago

Nothing has been said about an xbox version.
But it could come unless there is $$$ involved.

Fishy Fingers3388d ago

$$$ is probably the reason there ISNT an XB version.

ninsigma3388d ago

That's not how it works. Xbox games go to PC but PC games don't necessarily go to xbox.

XXanderXX3388d ago

Not necessarily if weren't for that BS play anywhere or some tool at MS undoubtedly Xbox games would remain exclusives to the console. Here hoping play anywhere fails and Xbox games remain selling point for the console.

Fishy Fingers3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

Play anywhere is the best thing MS have every done for their cross community (PC/Console), it's only first party games so it isn't forced upon 3rd parties.

Why anyone would think that being able to buy your game once but use it on multiple devices (if you own them) is a bad thing is beyond me. You must care about console sales figures or billion dollar company bottom lines more than games if that the case.

I personally don't give a rats ass how many consoles MS/Sony/Nintendo (or GPUs Nvidia/amd) sell. I just play the games, now I can play them where and when I want. It's great.

The money is also in software, not hardware. So it's really win win. They've got tens of millions of potential new software buyers (again, where the money is).

Imalwaysright3388d ago

Literally hundreds of them...

Phill-Spencer3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

XXanderXX

Agreed to 100%. To me it's unbelievable that ms took all exclusives from x1. But i hope they will change that with a new console to give people a reason to buy it.

MasterCornholio3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

Not everything that's on PC is on Xbox as well. NiOh is an example of that.

PC =/= Xbox

@Moe

Oops my mistake. I thought NiOh was coming to PC but it's just rumors of a PC version. Well then I guess I'll change my example to Nier Autómata then.

ninsigma3388d ago

Well of course but that's not the case right now. Right now I'm happy with play anywhere because it means I get play any xbox games that take my fancy but I agree that xbox games should be used as a selling point for the xbox console because they can't be played anywhere else.

Imalwaysright3388d ago

Like Fishy said above the money is in the software. If MS made more money just releasing their 1st party games on the X1 they wouldn't release them on PC. This helps them as a company and more gamers get to enjoy their games. From my point of view MS releasing their games on PC is a win win scenario.

starchild3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

@Imalwaysright

I agree. Let's say all these people that are complaining actually encourage Microsoft to stop putting their games on PC, what do these people gain?

Are Xbox gamers going to suddenly have more games to play? No, they haven't lost any games to PC. Microsoft putting their games on PC doesn't reduce the amount of games they can play on their chosen console.

And how is it going to benefit Sony fans? They complain about it more than anybody, but what will they actually gain if Microsoft stops putting their games on PC? Xbox One will have the same games either way. If anything it's only going to take away their favorite fanboy talking point. Won't be able to say "na na na the Xbox One is irrelevant 'cause I can just play those games on my PC ".

I definitely don't see how legitimate PC gamers like us benefit either. I see some people complain about it and I'm baffled. They speak as if it were a good thing to have to buy a redundant piece of hardware that does nothing our PCs can't do better and is only necessary because certain games are artificially restricted to it. It's like these guys want to be forced to spend $400 to play a handful of exclusives. I don't get it.

I'm glad to see sensible PC gamers like you and Fishy Fingers. I agree with you that it's mostly a win-win situation for MS and gamers in general.

madmonkey013388d ago

despite what xbox fans spin, the PC and Xbox are two different platforms.

3388d ago
Imalwaysright3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

"Cause it puts an end to I don't need a Xbox to play BS"

What do you care about what other people say? Does that take any enjoyment out of your Xbox/Nintendo combo?

"gives MS a reason to still manufacture a console. "

Like the Scorpio? Xbox isn't going anywhere and the only thing that PC gamers are going to do is help MS games division by giving it more profit through software sales which is where MS, Sony and Nintendo get the bulk of their money in this industry. You have to remember that if it wasn't for Nadella the Xbox division would most likely be dead by now or in the hands of other company.

notachance3388d ago

?

The only way MS makes money on PC is if people buy games through windows store, and we all know what store conquers PC platform now aren't we?

MS doesn't get a lick of Gaben's money. At All.

Imalwaysright3388d ago

I'm talking about MS 1st party and the games they publish/fund. If you think that MS doesn't make money from each Quantum Break or Ori's sale on steam, think again.

starchild3388d ago

@notachance

That's incorrect. Microsoft makes money having their games on PC the same way any other publisher does.

But more significant than that, Microsoft benefits by the proliferation of Windows. That's their main bread and butter. The more people choose Windows for gaming, or for any other purpose, the more successful Microsoft's OS business is.

Sparta073388d ago

I'm a little dizzy from your spin.
But yeah of course Microsoft makes money out of there exclusives nobody is arguing about that.
The point is why buy an Xboxone or Scorpio is you can just play all Microsoft exclusives on a pc. I pick my console by which exclusives I like best and play multiplayer games on it.
That's the point.
Is like a tornado in here, with you guys.

Imalwaysright3388d ago

@ Sparta07

Spin? I thought it was common knowledge that the bulk of the money to be made in this industry comes from software sales.

Why buy the X1 over a PC? Because they're different platforms each with their advantages and disadvantadges. I prefer the PC and others prefer consoles.

+ Show (2) more repliesLast reply 3388d ago
Chevalier3388d ago

You could just get rid of the BS and just dump the Xbox One, PC will trump your Xbox and Scorpio anyways.

notachance3388d ago

why xbox fanboys think PC and XB are the same platform is beyond me.

The only way MS makes money from PC sales is if people buy it from windows store, and almost all PC games are made for PC without MS having any involvement in it. Windows OS just happened to be the OS of choice because it's the one with most install base, and it's not a closed environment like consoles are, MS doesn't control and get anything from what's published there.

Also if you fanboys forgot MS tends to have bad track record with many 3rd party. Last gen it was level 5, this gen it was PlatinumGames, you can be damn sure those two won't have anything to do with MS again. Last gen Namco tried to do exclusivity with Tales of Vesperia, this gen all their Tales games come to PC and PS4 and most likely Switch but never touched XB at all. I also think SE won't be making any limited-time exclusivity again with MS for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, developers saw the sales on your console, add to that the attitudes of getting salty and calling niche game 'trash' and 'not needed' by you guys, and belittling indie games when it comes to competitor console. Why you're still wondering why smaller developers are avoiding MS is beyond me.

medman3388d ago

This game may come to xbox at a later date....I believe that was mentioned as a possibility awhile back. But it probably won't be until 6 months or so after the games release.

tyasia03388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

"Then game will be bought at massive discount or from bargain bin for PC , best winning scenario.
That's how this BS is handled and works that way for me . "

Hey cool, for once I agree with you.

That's exactly how I feel about Xbox games and the Scorpio in general. I guess now we can stop talking about how people should buy a Scorpio.

quent3388d ago

Looking forward to it releasing on PC, the combat and gameplay, just like with Platinum, are always of high quality

Featuring_Dante3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

you must be joking. The only decent outing from ninja theory was DmC, but comparing them to platinum is a fallacy.

heavenly sword had some crazy input lag and 3 attack patterns, probably worse than god of war, and enslaved was just lol
no one played those games for the gameplay.

3388d ago
r2oB3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

Heavenly Sword was/is good too.

BushLitter3388d ago

Umm Ninja Theory games have been excellent actually. They just didn't sell well which is a crying shame. I'm not sold on this one just yet though, but am intrigued

Segata3388d ago

You are joking right? The combat in NT games is pretty bad. Even in DmC you could button mash to S combo. Platinum is leagues above anyone in the action genre. Only Team Ninja comes close.

Featuring_Dante3388d ago

why is everyone disliking?!!
i know gamers on n4g like to bicker more than game, but this is beyond pathetic.

on topic, while DmC was broken, it had a little bit of depth that allowed the stringing of attacks to create the illusion of combos, but seriously, it was broken, you could keep enemies flying for days by doing a simple attack, its not even a glitch.

dveio14d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing14d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9214d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit14d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing14d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9214d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
