The Evolution of Nintendo Consoles

Nintendo started as a humble playing-card company in the late 1800s, but ended up saving the video game industry from a financial crash in the early 1980s. Since then, Nintendo has had an illustrious history and has gone on to become arguably the most important console manufacturer of all time. Let’s take a walk down memory lane as we look back at the company’s console hardware highlights.

Nintendo Switch will be the best Nintendo console since SNES. I can't wait for March 3rd!

This remains to be seen. So far the only game that looks interesting to be is Zelda Breath of the Wild.

On topic: My vote goes for N64 as the best Nintendo console.

Great times. I love them all for many different reasons. There is no denying the iconic designs of Nintendo consoles especially when pictured together. It's like the evolution of Air Jordans designs pictured together (hope you understand the metaphor). Can't wait for the Switch.

I have been hitting up Youtube lately seeing gamers favorite game countdowns for Nintendo consoles with this month in between the new era. GameCube gets mad love these days with awesome videos and comments. Makes me happy to see. Nintendo would be smart to make Switch's Virtual Console GameCube nirvana.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit32d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing32d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9232d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
