I'd love GameCube games to finally get the Virtual Console treatment! I always got the impression that technical llimitations were the reason we never got them for Wii U -similar to full VC support for SNES and GBA games on the vanilla 3DS - despite all the rumors and hope for it back in 2012, but this has no doubt been discussed internally at this point.

Being now the most notoriously difficult Nintendo system to play through legit means, re-releasing some of those exclusive gems would be a godsend, as Wind Waker HD did a good job at updating a classic to a broader audience that never touched the system after Smash gave Toon Link more appreciation.

Granted a full HD Remaster takes more time and effort than most VC releases, last year's 3DS VC releases of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow proved that some extra effort can be brought in to ensure some of these GCN titles work as intended, in regards to the lack of analogue shoulder buttons. In this case, I'd love for them to be reworked to accept the GCN Adapter a la Smash for Wii U, since that controller is the best thing ever, but only time will tell. Hopefully those games aren't lost to time for another generation!

They should but the fact that they haven't been talking about it leads me to believe it won't be available at launch. Of course they could be trying to get games to operate smoothly and are waiting to the last minute to make it official rather than saying GCN VC at launch and then it not happening. GCN VC was announced for the Wii U for instance well over a year ago and it has yet to happen and probably won't at this point in time.

I'd welcome that. F-Zero GX with online multiplayer, Eternal Darkness, Soul Calibur 2 with Link. Rogue Squadron with online Multiplayer. Yea that would be nice.

they need to do something to get some more sales. i want it to succeed but i'm definitely not buying one unitil the unit and accessories are reasonably priced and they can show some new games, not games that are also available on the wiiu, so atleast holiday 2017 if not longer.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
