5 Reasons Nintendo Switch Launch will Fail:

1) Weak system specs
2) Poor battery life
3) Poor selection of games
4) Grossly overpriced accessories and system
5) Poor prospects for games in the future

Gotta say that if I was going to write an article on 5 reasons why its launch will fail, I might use the exact same arguments in reverse.
5. It's easy to understand? On the contrary. It's so freakin' complicated. Is it a home console? A handheld? Truth is, it's really neither. It's too underpowered for a home console and too big/bulky for a handheld. It wants to be both but ends up being neither. And with a dozen different ways to play, it complicates things even more. The kids can play it together at home, but then have to fight over it in the car (and multiplayer split-screen on a 6" screen isn't going to cut it)
4. It's a good price. It actually isn't a bad price for the main console. What's a bad price is everything else. An extra set of controllers is $80?? And the games are how much?? I know people complained about the price of Vita memory cars, but $50 for 1 2 Switch is an abomination. And it goes beyond that. Everything aside from the main unit is way too expensive.
3. It's a new concept. That actually works against it. Switch is more Vita than it is PS4. It wants to be a mature handheld, just without 3rd party support. It didn't work for Sony either.
2. It has Nintendo games. Yes. It does. The problem is that it only has Nintendo games. No 3rd party publisher is taking a serious bet on Switch. Ubisoft is offering up a bunch of old ports. EA is offering a gimped version of FIFA. Again, not a proven winning strategy.
1. It has a winning release strategy. Once again, let's look to the Vita. Releasing in early spring, limited launch lineup, inferior versions of console games.... Not really a winning strategy if you ask me.

I think it will do much better than wii u but nowhere near the wii.. A lot of casual gamers i know pre ordered one... Others want it too because they dont know zelda is for wii u and mario kart will make it sell since people actually know its a new system.. Lastly releasing that NES mini boosted nintendo hype in people..

It will sell at launch just cause of all the pre hype that it's a new console and it's launching with Zelda. Especially since they've delayed Zelda for practically 2 yrs and it's taken them 5 1/2 yrs to make since the last main Zelda game!! In a couple of months when ppl wake the fuck up and realize O SHIT all I have is just another Wii U and the system will gain dust cause theres no games to play on it!

Dude enough with these opinion pieces. This is not news worthy. I can make a prediction list with my bias so what's the point? Do some actual news stories you scrub!

From the looks of it, it seems it will but it's all the hype that's pushing this system along. There's no games worth getting, also the utter ridiculous fact they there gonna start the whole "Nintendo game of the month" and not even be able to keep the game is utter stupidity. So yes it will definitely sell but I have no idea why, other than the hype of it

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
