Switch having Nintendo games is not a very valid reason for its supposed success. Yes the company produces awesome games, but on the console side mostly Nintendo gamers will buy a console for them.

N64, GCN, and Wii U had awesome first party titles, but they still ended up selling less hardware and software than their predecessors

Man when is Nintendo fanboyism going to die out? I stopped loving company 20 years ago. How much Mario and Zelda can people play before getting sick of the same stuff over and over?

A couple terrible reasons in there.

Releasing a minimal amount of games is genius? Wow. Maybe they should have just released it with Zelda. Then in 3 months a 2nd game. Genius!!!

It is dead simple? Compared to what? Compared to any other console or handheld device that has EVER released... it is the least simple of anything.

How many games are you likely to buy on day one? If Nintendo released 100 games, you wouldn't buy 100. You probably wouldn't even buy 10. Most likely 3-4 at the max. So why pour all this effort into marketing 100 games AND the console launch AND the accessories, etc, when you can spread out that conversation over an entire year?

I don't know how to even respond if you think that makes any sense.

You do understand that a larger variety of games means you are going to hit a much larger group of users right? You aren't that stupid are you?

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit26d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing26d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9226d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
