Xbox Scorpio’s messaging must be clear and address specs, leaving E3 for games and features

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.
Along with softwares that will actually get people excited for the machine
I could see this happening. Then they could use E3 to focus on games, so that would be a good strategy I think.
I think a reveal event before E3 will be a great idea.
All good reasons, but do they pass up the chance to grab all of that E3 press? I could see them going either way at this point.
It would be smarter to do it early as I've said before. Like February about the same time as when Sony announced PS4 which was around February 20. If they're competing, you try to overshadow what your competitor has done.
Then, talk about technical features and abilities during GDC which is February 27-March 3. Keep momentum going in April and May with showing game engine improvements with tech demos of trees, cars, people, etc showing a difference in looks without showing games.
And then lastly, show GAMES at E3 that put those bits together on where those trees, cars and people come from. Announce a price of $399 and hope for a positive reaction. Just as Sony made E3 game focused and wowed the crowd(I watched it more than 5 times because it was that good. Even with E3 reactions on YouTube), Microsoft needs to respond with a focused E3 that wows with games while letting current owners know that there are Xbox one versions of those games coming and won't be left behind.
Digital cross buy is okay if they continue it. But most 3rd parties aren't going to go for 1 buy when they can get you to buy 2 versions for console and PC. It's like Halo and split screen multiplayer. As a business, do you want 4 gamers playing 1 game with 1 XBL service? Or 4 gamers buying Xbox ones with 4 Halos with 4 XBL services? Developers want more profit and have shown that to us again and again.
If they show it at E3 only, they need to not spend so much time TALKING about power but what can be DONE with power. Saying how many transistors and terflops and 4K support you have won't mean a thing unless you show it. And after last year's E3, gamers don't care what you say, it's what you show.
