If you live in the USA and were wondering why you haven’t been able to get your hands on a pre-order of a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, it’s because the peripheral has only yesterday received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Everything about this seems rushed. Getting it out to please stock holders and the like.

It would seem that way. They probably recently finalized on the pro controller. No apps at launch. No external hdd option.

indysurfn3401d ago

The controller is for sale in OTHER Countries.....So assuming that it is just being finished, because it has not been previously approved in the USA does not mean it is not finalized. It is a CONTROLLER, not a new GPU.

Every one of Nintendo's consoles including the Wii, and WiiU has a regular hard core controller. Controllers are not new to Nintendo.

I probably won't be surprised, if people might get exploding battery on their Nintendo Switch tablet. Especially, if you are travelling and on the plane.

Fishy Fingers3401d ago (Edited 3401d ago )

Are Samsung producing the batteries? But in all seriousness you maybe right, batteries are especially susceptible to traveling and heights, they much prefer being at home with their feet up...

God imagine that...the next plane panic attack is caused by a Switch device

Concertoine3401d ago

If theres one thing i know for sure about switch, its that it probably wont have many hardware issues. Nintendo has consistently put out not necessarily well thought machines, but certainly well built ones. Never had issues with their products.

indysurfn3401d ago (Edited 3401d ago )

It is NOT Nintendo's first battery. They have been evolved with batteries since the GAMEBOY!!! Gameboy advanced, DS, 3DS I am probably missing some systems but they have always had QUALITY batteries. Not junk, people are just trying to make up stuff now. Because the SWITCH is selling faster than ANY Console pre launch in at least two different countries. And in order to surpass the PS4 it can't be the small numbers on purpose that fanboys are accusing Nintendo of. Any gamestop employees here that can testify? I know I ran into some myself.

It's not like it takes that long to get FCC approval. Especially since they're designed with those standards in mind. A lot of companies don't seek approval until close to release to avoid potential information leaks.

Probably why it was not available for preorder.

Fishy Fingers3402d ago

Probably... as that's exactly what the article says :/

jaymacx3401d ago

@Fishy Fingers I responded before I read the article lol. But that just made sense to me (why there was not any up for preorder.)

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing19d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9219d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit19d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing19d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9219d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
