That's normal. Current gen consoles and the VIta didn't have them either on launch day until weeks after. Some experienced app issues when it released.

Who's willing to bet when these features are released it will be behind a paywall?

Why can't Sony and Nintendo get portable devices right! They both release some good handheld devices, the Vita being incredible at the time, but then they gimp them with lack of features!

At launch, thats ok as long as it comes soon.

Even the 3DS has Netflix. I'm fairly certain that the Switch will eventually get it, along with Amazon Video, CrunchyRoll, and whatever else (those are all readily available on Wii U).

Judging by some of the comments on here, the reason Nintendo will never change is because you defend everything they do. They can do no wrong. Yes, this is a hybrid but that means it's also a home console. Not having (at least) Netflix is like buying a TV and it doesn't have a remote control. It's 2017 and you just expect it.

Maybe it will come out when they launch their paid online system 6 months or more after it releases.

Why not release the system when everything is available? Like your online service. It's going to be free at 1st then your going to charge for it later. And I really hope that you don't have to use your phone for voice chat and lobbies. Wtf....I guess since Netflix is on everything, everyone has smart phones as well. I used to use my PS3 for Netflix all the time. I use my OG PS4 for streaming in the bedroom. It's nice not to have 100 pieces of electronics setting under my TV.

But I forgot Nintendo can do no wrong. And people thought Sony fanboys take it to the next level. Nintendo fans are on another planet. Since it's also a portable, it gets a pass on EVERYTHING!!! That's the narrative. We (mainly the diehards) should be screaming through the rooftops and expect more from a product that's launching in 2017. Compared to the competition it's like night and day. But you have Zelda at launch that skipped an entire generation so it's all good!!!

Now some of you are literally sitting here defending when Nintendo DOESN"T have something that's become standard in the modern era? Not having it at launch isn't a killer (although they SHOULD in this day and age). The problem is the defenders here.

Some of you need to draw the line on what you are, fan or fanboy?

Because a Nintendo fan would praise the good things AND call them out on the faults. Fanboys will sit there, praise the good things, and DEFEND their faults.

Everything literally in my house electronic wise will able to use all these apps besides the Switch. Trust me... I'll live. I buy and use a game console for just that... Playing video games

Not only do I not want this "console." I don't want anyone I know, to have one.

That's how pathetic this thing is. Who in their right mind, would support this? Yes, Zelda is awesome, it is, but this "console" is coming from Nintendo. A company who,

- Gives up on a product quick, for the next, under-powered / gimmick
- Is now charging for online? But voice-chat + other features are only accessible through your smartphone?
- Will receive questionable 3rd party support
- Has only a few scheduled releases

And the list goes on (case in point, this topic). It's frustrating, but at the same time, they make it incredibly easy not to support them. I used to say I'd buy a console for Zelda. They managed to prove me wrong.

Good job Nintendo. Best of luck making games for Sony / Microsoft in the coming years.

March 3rd, I am looking forward to the 2 I have on preorder is all I can say. One for me, and one for the wife. And yes, I have 2 PS4's, 2 Xbox ones and 3 gaming rigs (vacation homes). I am a gamer and I want them all. However, I am getting rid of my XB1's as they serve no purpose for me anymore (again, gaming rigs).

Probably been said, but, the media player will be sold as paid DLC, as will any and all additional services.

People don't get it, they say oh it's on other devices so big deal but it is a big deal. It's about building partnerships and Nintendo is just so selfish and unable to do these basic things that are the norm today!

- high premium price (for what it is)
- poor launch line up
- its best game is a Wii U port cartoonish 900p adventure.
- poor third party support
- online service, match making and voice chat is forced to be used through a smartphone app.
- ironically, you have to pay for online service.
- NES games free for 1 month only.
- accessories are very expensive.
- and now, no media functionality at launch.

What kind of joke is this and how there are people defending and justifying this? Truly impressive and a new low in the gaming industry.

Just doesn't seem like they planned there launch too well. $299 with no game bundled (looking at you 1/2 Switch!) super expensive accessories($70 pro controller!) I'm rooting for them but damn! Come on Nintendo!!!!!

I like the idea of this device so I'll wait and see what happens with it. But it needs the basics like every other console/handheld It's 2017 I live in Canada and the switch is priced 399.99 that's outrageous considering 379.99 for a xbox one/ps4 slim bundles.
