Why the Nintendo Switch Looks So Disappointing

The Nintendo Switch doesn't look like the console needs to bring it into the current generation.

It's almost like a record how fast Nintendo was able to ruin whatever goodwill the first NS trailer received in October

Watch and learn. Just remember NX, now known as Switch, was prematurely announced in 2015 when Mr. Iwata was still living. Always remember I reminded you when you see no Switch's in store. Gamers stopped buying Wii U and all interest Switched.

As a console Switch has so much going against it that makes it difficult to compete with PS4 & XO.

As a handheld it goes very much against the philosophy that Gunpei Yokoi coined as "lateral thinking with withered technology" that has carried their handhelds to success for the past 28 years.

Switch will be too expensive for a lot of the gamers that bought into their Game Boy and DS lines. Just look at how the market didn't receive the 3DS well when it was $250. Switch will also seem very underwhelming compared to what consumers can expect to get on contemporary PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

It'll be interesting to see how well NS performs when it releases on the market. It's trying to combine both demographics to work as a hybrid, but doesn't seem to work well as a dedicated product of either demographic.

What do consumers get with a ps4 or xbox? Its all the same. You get out of it what you put in.

Ladies and gentlemen we live in a hater world where ridiculing and putting everything down is somehow normal. The switch will be a great console and a hot system. Most gamers these days are whiners who will never be happy with anything. There is nothing funner then Nintendo. Thats why we love it.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit27d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9227d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
