Still don't know why it's launching with 32GB of storage.

dead_pixels3424d ago

I have absolutely no idea how they can justify that when the competition is packing 500GB-1TB storage solutions out of the box.

darthv723424d ago

It prob wouldnt have cost them much to add in a 64 or 128gb sd card for extra storage. Unless they really believe in letting the consumer decide what is best in terms of providing their own.

My psp go is kind of like the switch. It has a tv mode that you can use a regular controller with and off tv mode for portability. Except itonly has 16gb of storage and no local multiplayer... damn you sony for being cheap!!! /s

Me neither, it's nuts, pretty low, even when the Wii U was released, though it's a major improvement on their portable side lol. I'm just glad that you can expand the storage. Could you imagine if they pulled an apple and made it where you couldn't add more storage to it.

They say they are trying to get away from the wii brand yet the joy con demonstration is literally just revamped wii remotes/motion gaming...

Launch line-up is weak, Zelda is the only one I'm interested in, and I'll just pick it up for WiiU. Switch is gonna flop.

Can't forget their new online "service," the smartphone voice chat thing is ridiculous. Just give us in game chat and parties and stuff.

This!

Nothing they showed can't be on the Wii U. They really should of made these games for the Wii U and left it as that. I am not paying $300 for this thing. Maybe next year after they get a library and everything is discounted. Zelda looks badass but that is going to be a great Wii U game. It does NOT need the new system.

I f**king hate NYC...NYC is where American throws it garbage.

Kreisen3424d ago (Edited 3424d ago )

I swear you could just copy/paste the comments from WiiU announcement then put them here and nobody would ever be able to tell which console it was aimed at. Its all just Zelda this and Mario that with these Nintendo fanboys lol.

cyclindk3424d ago

That's true to an extent, why Nintendo is having such a difficult time producing/acquiring new and interesting IPs is beyond me, they exist in droves everywhere except on Nintendo consoles (and Microsoft more and more due to their own.... reasons).

Phone games and their own handhelds have plenty of great and different titles.

Moonman3423d ago

Switch is region free, supports 2TB SD and usb hard drives and can play anywhere.

So much like Wii U. /s

gamer78043424d ago (Edited 3424d ago )

i'lll add to the drawbacks:

No real d-pad, on a nintendo console thats crazy, have to pay 70$ more to get a d-pad via the pro controller.

3rd party support appears to be mostly old games

Questionable voice chat and multiplayer support via the console for anyone that doesn't have an android or iOS phone since it might be via an app.

No real BC support like the wiiu had.

Seraphim3423d ago

$70 is a ridiculous money grab if I ever saw one. I broke down and pre-ordered one last night just because amazon had them listed. However, another $70 to get an actual controller? Doesn't even look that great of a controller either. Take the third leg out of the Wavebird and give us that or something similar.

And according to their website they're jumping on the paid online service starting Fall 2017. Questionable indeed.

only reason I'm eyeing it up because the past year I've been tempted to buy a Wii U and with Zelda on the horizon.... after further research, idk anymore. Might be best to wait this out. Not like there's a lack of PS4 games to play from now till Summer & by then beyond...

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing30d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9230d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit30d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing30d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9230d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
