If true, then Nintendo truly does not even have the basic online functionality apps. All these news coming out is making me care less and less about the Nintendo Switch. Again, Nintendo being Nintendo.

UPDATE: Netflix support for Switch is available on the same device as voice chat.

On one hand, not a big deal because just about everything has Netflix these days. On the other hand, being able to watch Netflix on just the Switch is really handy. On the Wii U is was cool to be able to take the controller into the room next to the TV, plug in some headphones and watch something on the couch. With the Switch, you'd be able to do the same thing except allover the house. It'd be great for curling up and watching something in bed while you're sick, or something like that.

Not a deal breaker, but it'll be nice when it does come.

I doubt this will be a deal breaker for most... No, the nintendo switch has already given plenty of those.

Who gives a fuck!! Doesn't everybody already have a PS4 or Xbox one that has Netflix on it?!?? Why would we need it for the switch the main reason to buy a switch or any Nintendo console is for there 1st party exclusives. That's it everything else u can get on the PS4 or Xbox

Man...it's like every hour on the hour there is more bad news about this console. This might seriously be it for Nintendo in the console business, as sad as that makes me.

Honestly, I keep thinking that they are kind of rushing the system out early in the year. When has a console ever come out in a march instead of the Holiday season? Cause the more I hear of it, the more I feel Nintendo didn't think through on some things. How long was R&D for the Switch?

For that price, there is no reason not to, and they have a paid online service. They need to add features and apps. Don't want this to be the next PSTV.

Not surprise, they usually don't have media support at all from what I know. The wii might have had netflix I think but nothing else.

Does anyone feel bad for Netflix in all of this? They have to maintain a new app every time a new device is announced.

I have the option to watch it on my phone, Xbox, actual TV, my living room TV, laptop, desktop, etc... Why would I care that I can't use the Netflix on the Switch? People really need to stop crying over the smallest things

No big deal neither prior generation console had Netflix at release , it will be fine .

Again i see people in the comments section just trying to damage control this decision. Netflix is on every device, its not even a feature any more its a given. Its an expectation. The Switch is missing all these little details (Voice Chat, Netflix, Ethernet, a packed in Headset, a SKU with a pro controller, 32 Gig of memory (not enough), and you can keep trying to damage control it, to make yourselves feel better, but everyone out of the Nintendo-fan Bubble is laughing at you.

I have laptop, PS3, PS4, and smart TV to watch Netflix on. I mostly watch Netflix on my PS4 cause I like using the DS4 controller. Switch not having Netflix isn't a big deal since most people have 1 or 2 devices that they can already watch it on.

It doesn't need it but I was expecting it. Netflix wouldn't be a bad idea for the device especially for families that have to share a television.

Netflix should come eventually. Speaking of such other apps might arrive its tablet hardware. We might see Hulu,Sling TV,VUDU and HBO GO down the line.

Netflix is on everything and it will come to the Switch. It's even on the 3DS!

This is complete non-news.

personally it doesn't bother me, but its nice to have options. These apps are everywhere. When I use my Switch it will be for gaming only. Just like my 3DS. With all that said I don't want to speak for others so they probably should add it for those that do want this.

If you're complaining you can't use your Netflix account on a console that's not even out yet. What were watching it on before?

And people honestly thought "achievements" was going to be a deal breaker for people. I can't think of a single person that doesn't use Netflix on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, or PS4. It's slowly replacing cable, it's a must on any system that can handle it. Not having it, even at launch. People aren't interested. Seems like a stupid thing but not a lot of folks want to turn one system off just to turn another on solely to use Netflix. People will stick what's simple. They need kid friendly games? The PS4 and Xbox One have them now, and a fair amount of them. Minecraft being the important one. Nintendo is just shooting themselves in the foot at this point. People thought the Xbox One reveal was bad, they at least had time to alter things and still have us a lot of new features (missing more aside). Nintendo just walked out with zero time to alter anything. These are getting made as we speak. Some are likely boxed already. They have no time to alter a UI let alone a great deal of features. No time to get more games over. No time to get Netflix sorted out. It's done.

Now I'm not one of those idiots that thinks Nintendo will go bankrupt anytime soon, they won't. They have a lot of money and make a lot more on software sales, more than Sony and Microsoft have this generation (Although that includes the 3DS, which makes up for untold millions of units sold). They'll keep coming up with new and inventive ways to burn cash. No doubt about it. I just don't understand how a company like Nintendo, that prided themselves on simple hardware and selling you that hardware through tons of really good software turned into making crappy hardware with gimmicky features, without any software to sell you at all. Plus the plain obvious things that are missing from this machine, Netflix especially.

Not a big deal unless you are a little kid and this is your one and only entertainment device.
