Well, that's good to hear.

RpgSama3417d ago

What I want to know is how much of an RPG is this game going to be, we know next to nothing about it, hope is a really long adventure with more role playing elements

Kokyu3417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

Watch the Nivida keynote tonight @ CES 6:30pm PT/9:30 EST. They will be using MEA to show off new Nivida tech plus showing more game play and things from MEA.

joab7773416d ago

As much as they have spoken about it, I highly doubt that they will return to the original's style. If anything, we may see something like ME2, but it will be a streamlined rpg that focuses on action. It will center around characters, side quests and collecting items of some sort to progress your weapons and your ships weapons. Crew mates will remain very shallow in their rpg elements!

ThePope3416d ago

I've read comments by the developer that it has quite a bit of RPG elements.

Tsar4ever013416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

Well maybe you'd like to know that it'll run in native 1080p/30 on base Ps4, 900p on X1. This is Dice's Frostbite Engine we're talking about hear! Being that Dragon Age: Inquisition managed to reach 1080p on ps4, so I was expecting this. And of coarse Pro mode will have it running at 1800p checker-boarded to 4k.

bouzebbal3416d ago

I'll be hard at work on NiOH!
Good date though..

benzo523416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

It is an action RPG story-based shooter. There is an interview on gameplanet nz. Mike Gamble: When we started development, we focussed a lot on the RPG roots, bringing back many of the systems that we had not done in 2 or 3 like crafting and certain elements of progression.

UCForce says with excitment

Jmanzare3416d ago

think dragon age inquisition in space

Kurdishcurse3416d ago

thats not good. since i found that game to be dull.

bluefox7553416d ago

I hope not, I don't have very high hopes for anything from Bioware though after Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect 3.

Saijahn3416d ago

Inquisition was the first Dragon Age game that I actually beat, but man it was a snooze fest.

game4funz3416d ago

Hope not.
Inquisition was the worst shallowest dragon age.
The open areas full of nothing and bad LGBT characters really killed it.

Jmanzare3416d ago

Yea I didn't like it either going to not set myself up for disappointment again

Meltic3417d ago

Take this with a grain of salt. Never trust release dates anymore, it can change in any week. This game is huge, it will def get delayed.

BlakHavoc3417d ago

It already got delayed and EA waited along time to be absolutely certain about this date. The fact that it's been announced so close to the release date also tells me they're confident about March 21st.

Lon3wolf3417d ago

On the happier side of that some games have been known to have their release dates moved forward.

Yui_Suzumiya3417d ago

I would normally agree but this thing has already been delayed for nearly a year , lol

Tankbusta403417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

A release thats been delayed as much as this had and scheduled in 2 months is not going to get delayed, unless something catastrophic happens in development. The game must be 90% done at least for this announcement

CorndogBurglar3417d ago

I dont k kw though. When they first announce a release date this close its usually pretty solid.

joab7773416d ago

Pretty sure this one is solid lol!

Kurdishcurse3416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

i dont understand why u are getting dislikes. anyway, i found this to be fishy. time will tell. eitherway ill be buying this at the end of this year. pretty sure this game will be a technological wreck when it comes out. we can thank the day 1 patch culture we fans dug ourselves into.

Meltic3416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

I get dislikes beacuse people don't Think it will get delayed. And when people are seeing that a comment has been disliked many times, they just hit the dislike button. It's quite normal for the human brain to react just like that.

game4funz3416d ago

Id normally agree with you. But I really hope you're wrong about this one.

Be too busy playing Zelda I'll wait.

BlakHavoc3417d ago

I might be too busy playing Horizon but as soon as I finish I'll be scooping this up. My only concern is it comes out so close to Horizon and P5, it'll interfere with my playing time for one if not both of them lol.

game4funz3416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

Very true.
Just take your time.

No longer a good idea to buy games at launch. Some tend to be broken right out of the box.

_-EDMIX-_3417d ago

This might make me skip the switch launch and wait until summer to probably pick it up.

It's just far easier for me to spend 47 bucks on Mass Effect then the price of the switch along with the Zelda. The time I have is also valuable real estate to me lol

I might still be playing Horizon zero Dawn in Mass Effect to fully enjoy Zelda so I'm definitely considering just waiting until summer or even fall to purchase the switch for Zelda.

EddieNX 3417d ago

Zelda crushes Mass effect but thats just me. I am very excited for Andromeda but noway near as much as I am for Zelda.

Aloy-Boyfriend3417d ago

Obviously... ME It is not on the Switch

EddieNX 3417d ago

Oh really? Well i guess ill play it on my Xbox 1 then. Thanks for clarifying that

deafdani3416d ago

I'm more excited about ME Andromeda than Zelda, to be honest.

But no problem. If both come out in March, and I manage to buy a Switch, I'll play Zelda during lunchtime hour at work and an hour after work (while I wait for traffic jams to clear a bit), then I'll get home, and play ME Andromeda on my PS4.

Will have to find some time in between to eat, sleep, and have quality time with the kid. XD

ONESHOTV23416d ago

Yeah you will with a name like that lol btw I will enjoy Zelda and this well because I have the money to do so.

Yohshida3416d ago

Mass effect > Zelda

Wont even have the time to play Zelda

Perjoss3417d ago

Remember to save your game near the end so you can go back and see red, green and blue endings.

Ashlen3417d ago

Unfortunately they removed the paragon system.

Ashlen3417d ago

Yes, paragon, classes, story that continues between games, most of the cover shooting mechanics all gone.

deafdani3416d ago

This is the first I read about this.

So, no more Paragon / Renegade system? No more different classes? No more connecting games with game saves?

Damn. I don't like how any of that sounds at all. All of that are things that I love about the ME series. :(

SlightlyRetarted3416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

What i've understood there are profiles and skills. Profiles are classes from previous games, and each profile gives you certain passive set of skills. Only 1 profile can be active at once. Skills have 3 categories: Combat, Biotics and Tech. Each has skills that you can unlock and further improve just like in previous games. There are even stuff from first ME game like increasing your weapon accuracy if you are going with more soldier type of build. So, you can go full Vanguard, Soldier or whatever if you want to. What i've seen, the character customization is more complex than in ME2 and ME3.

Here's the video of profiles (you can pause and see passive skill sets for Soldier and Engineer) and shortly after that some of the Tech skills and skill tree. https://youtu.be/NK6pgNxyun...

game4funz3416d ago

@SlightlyRetarted
Thanks for the info!

Im digging the menus and what looks like something that rekindles the depth of rpg customization in Mass Effect.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

VenomUK480d ago

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast479d ago (Edited 479d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul479d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow479d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake479d ago (Edited 479d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro479d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Mass Effect Companion Tier Ranking

One of the best things about the Mas Effect series is the companions you meet along the way. So here is a tier list of all the companions from Mass Effect!

IAMRealHooman521d ago

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast521d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine521d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast521d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman521d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast520d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

IAMRealHooman520d ago

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein556d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac555d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992556d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX556d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9556d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne556d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast555d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne555d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog555d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay556d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon555d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT555d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon555d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139556d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein555d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
