Horror gaming's most famous series is going ‘first-person’. Expect a significant difference.
A new comparison shows Resident Evil 7 on Switch 2 runs at 60fps with visuals close to PS5, outperforming the PS4 version.
Game came out in 2017 . I expect the newer console to at least match or be better than the older ones .
PS4 PSU = 250 watts (base model)
PS5 PSU = 220 watts
Switch 2 = 22 watts (docked)
Crazy efficiency from Switch 2.
I don’t know who keeps posting this guy. The switch does NOT match the PS5 performance. Please put digital foundry vids instead. It beats series S visually. The beginning of the video shows the car hood example. The upscaler is pixelated as hell on switch but smooth, but less detailed on PS4 and not even on PS5s league. That’s the upscaler trying to make 540p look higher res. I really don’t understand the reasoning for the gas lighting.

Resident Evil 7 has massively flopped by making fewer than 2000 purchases on iOS, with other console mobile ports also performing poorly.
Well at least there are games like angry birds or clash of clans for mobile gamers :-)
Apple users ain't gamers. I don't know whether this push with "metal" was just to say they did it and it's possible to run modern games, or if Capcom just said hey more units is better, but either way this shouldn't be all that surprising.
Mobile gamers only want simple games and gachas. Nobody wants to pay up front for a mobile game, you have to hide it behind micro transactions lol.

Fan favorite Resident Evil 7 is coming to mobile, but once again, Capcom is only releasing the game on Apple’s latest phones and tablets.
Play of the RE7 demo in fp has seemed natural to me. I never once wished for a 3rd person option or felt dizzy. The fov does not feel too narrow and i did not notice nausea producing head/body bobbing. Tight spaces are better for me in fp view.
Right now i am switching between Skyrim and Mafia 3. I never think that i wish Mafia was fp and Skyrim is always in fp even though it has an excellent feature for 3rd person view. Driving or flying? Give me 3rd person please.
I cant wait to play RE7 Biohazard welcome back classic RE.
“First-person tends to work best in games that are all about immediacy, or that work with a restricted vision, as with horror. Third person tends to promote a slightly more measured style of play afforded by a less restricted view.”
Yeah let's pretend that fixed camera angles never did that at all. Other than that, I fully agree with Jamie Madigan that execution is much more important and neither perspective never had more edge than the next.
I played the demo in my PSVR headset; truly nerve wracking, but the sense of presence is unbelievable. Not sure I could play through the whole game that way, but this is a day one purchase for me.
