No way. That is un-heard of in video gaming history. Now all theyve got to do is ship out 6 more million units to get behind 360. Only problem is, if they are shipped no one will buy them, so if they ship 8 million units, then about 6.9 million units will still be in stores across the world, cause no one is buying them.

Not many people what to buy a $600 game machine for potential, and no one cares about blu-ray. so they choose 360 and wii.

I don't know about the masses, but I know that I'll be enjoying games like Heavenly Sword and Lair. I just want to add that a lot of people I know think that the 360 is mainly a shooter platform and PlayStation is mostly known for its adventure games. This is mainly the reason why I'm turned off by the 360, I didn't enjoy games like the Halo series for the first one and that was considered the best game for it. I mean the 360 is a great machine, but is it true that they turned down Heavenly Sword?
Well that's why I like PlayStation and this could be a reason why people buy the ps3, although Lost Planet looks really cool. I don't think that PS3 is doomed just because they're not selling now. $600 is too high of a price tag to just casually pick up without doing research, but I think when games start showing themselves that are worth playing, it will seem like more of a purchase.

seems to me that ps3 is doing fairly well. Right now everyone is saying that it's not selling and bad games. But 360 last year wasn't selling that much better, their games weren't that great for months on end, and it had no competition. Yes, I know they weren't selling as well because not enough in stock, but what if it was, would it sell any better. Now it's selling because there is more games. Wii sells well because of it's price. So, it doesn't sell right now because games aren't great.When we start getting some games in the next few months it will improve.

My god thats insane. After March when sony launches in Europe with games like Heavenly sword and motorstorm and resistance at launch they are going to sell every system they can make. They could declare victory by next winter if these keep going like this.

The only game i have played on the PS3 was the motorstorm demo, and I enjoyed it a LOT. it's a very fun game, and i've read reports that the final version is actually a whole lot better.

and i don't even like racing games.

If the ps3 can continue putting out games of that calibre, i will definetly buy one.

I caved in and bought a 360 for gears(Totally worth it) But ever since I got the hang of the weapons in Resistance its all I have been playing online. The game is amazing I have been playing with the neogaf guys and I truthfully havent played a console multiplayer game this good since Halo 2. I think as word of mouth keeps spreading on that game it will continue to be a huge force for ps3.

360s were stacked to the roof during christmas.piles of them at my best buy.high enough for me to stand up and put my elbows on them to read the sales paper.and i'm 5'6.and there were three rows that were at least 6-7 feet wide and 12-15 feet long each.i already had ps3 and didn't see them there.i was picking up fearless with jet li.

i said slowly because some of you can't afford it.save your money.it's worth it.or just trade in your 360 towards it.

i have no glitches with my games.but let's see:ps3 supports 7,count that,7 thousand plus games.how many does 360 support for bc?and how come some microsoft made titles,come on now,microsoft made titles don't work on 360?it's their games and their system?

To expect that $400~600 consoles are going to fly off of shelves in mid-January is seriously asking too much. Sales typically recover in March.

I can't believe 360 guys are bringing up the 1080p, our system is better because it's unified crap. By their logic PS3 games like Motorstorm and Heavenly Sword should be graphically impossible. But that's their logic.

33-dude, but how long did you have to really start playing next gen games..I am not bashing(i have a 360 and love it) but most of those launch titles were considered xbox 1.5 and you know it. They really started to heat up in late feb with oblivion and graw. Shoot, if you recall..dead rising was supposed to be a launch title, gow was scheduled in the 1st qt of the 360s life cycle. Ps3 will do the same...

Everything Son. I played everything under the Sun from Vetrex to colleco vision to Wonder Swan. I Nice in everything i play From the Days i use to Son Clowns in Broadway arcade in the Early to mid 90's in SF2 MSH,Neogeo whateva. This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
