It sounds like he didn't try it for very long... or at least didn't know what to expect. Of course nighttime without a light source is going to be annoying ... it's a survival game on an island full of dinosaurs. What did you expect ? ... But it takes literally a minute to craft a torch.
Same with the whistles that are "seldom used". Well, once you have a dino, you'll use the whistles all the time.
Now I agree with character customization, but that's all....
As for the community, well, if you're on a server full of brats, change server ? That's pretty unlucky though, I've seen plenty a new players getting dinos for free from traveling tribes .
Isnt this game in permanent alpha, even though they released paid DLC?
