"A few weeks ago, I shared my thoughts on how 2016 went for Microsoft’s gaming division and the Xbox One. With 2017 a mere stone’s throw away, I thought this would be as good a time as any to look at the near future and make some predictions on what to expect from Xbox in the coming year."

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

LucasArts gave Jango Fett his own game in 2002, and it pulled Star Wars into a much dirtier, rougher, and more interesting corner of the galaxy.

Dear team,
Xbox has always been different.
We started with a simple idea. Games should bring people together through shared experiences. That led to the first Xbox in 2001, Xbox Live in 2002, and new ways to connect, from friends lists and achievements to parties and play across devices. Today, Xbox reaches over 500 million players around the world, with some of the most important franchises in entertainment.
If they go back to exclusive games it at least shows that they are finally getting it. They would be turning down immediate money for something that will potentially workout in the long term.
Only issue is they've already opened Pandora's box. A lot of their base has moved to PC or jumped to PS. So will be a long road to get back on track.
We have been saying this from day one exclusives are a must if you are going to be selling hardware look at Nintendo and Sony before Jim Ryan. That's the proven formula. You had some that were deluded and blinded by loyalty accepting that multiplat was the future and that MS was merely getting ahead of where the industry was headed, but at least they can finally see the light and agree with what everyone has been saying for a decade+
Despite all of that, it's clear that Microsoft's Xbox division is broken beyond repair.
First prediction is sound, if third-party developers see the benefit. As it stands the Windows 10 gaming initiative is worse for PC gamers than the original GFWL was (a challenge in of itself), and I can see third parties doing it if they are seeing the benefits from a marketing perspective. Otherwise it's only an expansion that would have negative consequences for the freedoms of PC gaming. These games would be better off releasing on Steam and GOG where PC games are given the options on how they play.
Second prediction, I've already covered as being a tricky one. Priced at $399, they would surely be losing a fair chunk of profit per unit sold considering what they're claiming it can do and the kind of specs it will require - and they would still be outsold by a more popular and cheaper PS4 whether it's vanilla or Pro. They won't be able to move the needle of marketshare in the long-term or the short. Not only this, but PS4 will have more games releasing, the biggest third-party marketing deals, thus more coverage and potential for sales. No price is cheap enough for MS to actually compete. They probably won't even be able to compete with PS4 next holiday season, unlike they were able to this year's season. But if they want to be aggressive for their investment, they could do it.
Last prediction: I don't see 2 Halo games in one calendar year happening. I think Microsoft would want to lend more than 6 months to the hype and marketing machine for a main entry Halo game.
if Scorpio happens to be $399, I'm going to pre-order it as soon as it becomes available to do so.
Three bold predictions, Halo, Forza and Gears.
Not opening the article, does one of the predictions involve the Xbone overtaking PS4? If so LMAFO
I think scorpio will launch at 449 {500gig} 499 {1000gig} 599 {2000gig+elite controller}
but I think it will drop to 399 within the first six months
the pirate game is Microsofts biggest game of next year and I predict it will flop in sales
I predict both halo and forza will be delayed to 2018
