That is such a premature thing to say for a console that has not released as of yet. Developers will make for the switch if folks are buying it. Or they can be creative and tailor games to the feature set of the console.

Don't think for a second that 3rd parties can't gauge whether or not it would be profitable to put their game on a particular system.

Nintendo is once again going to alienate third parties, because they just keep going the niche route with their consoles. 3rd party support will once again blow, because the system will be weaker than the competition. Oh, and have we forgotten that the switch uses propriatery cartriges that are no doubt too small to hold the data of a game as big as MEA or RDR2?

I hope the switch fails just so Nintendo will pull their head out of their ass, and get serious about their consoles again. Either that, or become a 3rd party developer and put your games out on PS/Xbox

Go back and watch the wiiu reveal and towards the end pay attention to all the publisher logos that were suppodly supporting wiiu, we all know how the actual events turned out

Nintendo home consoles don't get the 3rd part support anymore

Nintendo fans don't generally buy 3rd party games because they maybe own another console or pc

For once I was hoping Nintendo would just make a console comparable to its competition

I don't think any Nintendo fan is expecting these games to be on the Switch.

Expect tailor made games from third party devs for the Switch and if it doesn't sell like the WiiU expect that support to drop off real quick.

Well I (and I'm sure the majority of people) who buy Nintendo consoles get it mainly for Nintendo games. Some 3rd party support is nice, especially if they add unique features, but that's not why I buy Nintendo consoles. If I want to play more 3rd party games, I have my Xbox One and soon Scorpio to play for those. I love Nintendo's catalog of franchises, and some are way overdue for a new installment. I hope the Switch gets a lot of games/support when it releases and the years that follow.

Don't expect most good 3rd party games on Nintendo

If you own a One or a ps4, ur not buying the switch for these games or any 3rd party games for that matter. Thats all there is to it and Im pretty sure the switch will miss out on the majority of big 3rd party titles, just as the wii u did. But Nintendo is poised to bring it with the 1st party stuff and the 3rd's that do release will likely see decent sales.

I picture an awesome 1st and 2nd party lineup, a bunch of Indies, and a select few 3rd party titles that do well, like nba 2k and maybe some Ubisoft games. Nintendo really doesn't need those big 3rd party games to be successful. They just need to make sure there is a steady flow from them and their partners to cover the bases and to actually release stuff on time. The first year of wii u was nothing but delays. I think March is a great release window cuz when the holidays roll around they will have at least a dozen or so high quality exclusives that make it attractive for consumers.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
