Which game offered the best competitive rush in 2016?
In 2023, developed by Blizzard Entertainment, Overwatch 2 was released, which was basically a big, glorified update of the original game that launched in 2016. Now, it’s simply reverted to being called just Overwatch, which is probably for the best.
The second iteration of Overwatch was released on the original Nintendo Switch, and while it’s still an enjoyable game with cross-play/progression functions, it’s still lacking in terms of performance and visuals, compared to its PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S counterparts. Well, it was.
As of today, the second iteration of Overwatch is natively available on the Nintendo Switch 2, just in time for Season 2: Summit.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Overwatch will have increased resolution both in handheld and docked modes, enhanced textures and lighting, up to 60 frames-per second, improved audio and more.
Blizzard is readying a patch to address the issue that the game is still running in Switch 1 build and just 30 fps.

Nexon has entered a publishing agreement with Blizzard for Overwatch in Korea, with the companies working to deliver services 'tailored' for the region.
Evercade has teased a new DOOM release for their platform.
I hope they make a Doom themed VS unit with red lighting. it will be like the Duke 3d one they did a couple years ago.
For me Overwatch was the best competitive mp game, with B1 coming in 2nd. I imagine OW will be around for a long time too.
But, the best overall game and value for the money was T2. Spectacular sp, great mp, no micros etc. B1 was next with spectacular mp and a pretty good sp, also with no absurd pay fleecing. Overwatch 3rd because of sheer quality but must be noted that they shrugged off every bit of criticism we launched at Battlefront, Titanfall, Evolve etc. Launching at full price with no sp and random loot boxes! Despite simply going further into the future and not using a new engine or mp UI, CoDs run of mill annual offering is worth the $60 to many, with tons of content including Zombie (which should have had a spin-off already) MW Remaster also gave it a great boost this year, but imho, not enough to move ahead of the other 3.
Halo 5, ya it released in 2015 but the 2016 updates put it on another level.
Gears of War 4 and Overwatch got some major hours from me. Halo 5 is my main tho..to me in 2016 Halo was best... I mean to me it's the only game where accurate grace behind the trigger feels rewarding and fluid, not your typical spray and pray.
For me personally, Battlefield 1 blows everything away from a competitive MP perspective. The sheer chaos and bedlam that takes place over the course of each match is incomparable. The WW1 setting, beautifully detailed maps, unique dynamic weather, huge player counts (32 v 32), AMAZING physics engine, insanely detailed graphics and butter smooth gameplay (specifically on ps4 pro), the music and audio, the destruction, the brutality etc. It just all comes together so well. COD and Titan fall 2 are both great but they can't touch Battlefield 1.
And this is coming from someone who was highly skeptical of Battlefield 1 and didn't pick it up until after playing many hours of Modern Warfare Remastered, Infinite Warfare and Titan Fall 2. Battlefield 1 makes its competitors feel last gen in my opinion, it's that good.
