Nintendo is the only gaming company I know to release a brand new system that's two generations behind (PS4/PS4 Pro and X1/X1 Scorpio). ;)

It's current gen, it's not like the other two, but it is current gen.

Kinect is a gimmick. PSVR is not. Many people believe VR is the future and shows great promise even in its infant stages. But at least you can get the full experience of these consoles without Kinect or VR. Switch has handicapped the gaming experience by making everything revolve around a ridiculous gimmick no one asked for. Pout all you want but the sales data won't lie. This is destined to flop.

I love it how people defend psvr it is a gimmick it is a as simple as it. It will never replace the way we game to day at home and we have been here before with VR just like 3d. Yes they are cool for some games but people don't want to have something on their head when gaming just as much as they dont want to be jumping around in front of their TV. I am not saying the switch will or will not be a hit but if you look at Nintendo's market the switch has the best chance of being a hit for them to be in the market than if they just followed Microsoft and Sony.

Nintendo could have easily added a GPU/APU in the dock so when the handheld was placed on top it could multiply the console's perfomance to...2017. Did they do that? No.

They could have released a brand new handheld with the exact same specs rumored yesterday and a PS4 Pro equivalent console that would allow you to play the same games on both. It would only take a patch, same as the OG ps4 and the Pro. Did they do that? No they didnt.

Instead they choose to give us something we did not want, cut their costs and call it the next big thing, hoping we'll bite like its 2007 all over again

Last but not least, saying VR is a gimmick shows you are very un-informed when the likes of Facebook, Google, Valve/HTC and Sony have put billions into it and it has proven to be a new way to experience games even if it lacks some support at this early stage.

Ehm forgive but when did I say that? I have clearly mentioned two products. One handheld with the tegra x1 and a seperate console with ps4 Pro performance that would guarantee 3rd party support.

As for the 'gimmick' term I wont get into this kind of a conversation. All I m saying is that VR is getting enough support from big, if not the biggest tech companies out there, to elevate VR above and beyond the vague gimmick term. Its still early days dude lets not rush to conclusions.

Ps2 graphics were worse than xbox and cube, but the library of exelent games seemed never-ending.

it's because it was Sony and all their consoles are great because of the fact they release game after game after game, no other company comes close, it can be the most powerful it can be the weakest but it will still come out on top because of the games. Playstation is the world's most recognized gaming brand

It's really down to did Nintendo pay companies to work on and hype up their equipment console? What happens when companies have to put in more work to port their games over, it's a possibility that 6 months from now support slows down again.

I know I shouldn't really take rumours to heart, but I think this is the first time I'm putting up a guard on hype and purchases for a new console.
