Rocket Chainsaw went hands on in their Nacon Revolution Pro review and walked away not wanting to use their Dualshock 4 ever again.
The Revolution Pro is a newly announced PS4 and PS4 Pro controller that was specifically designed with competitive gaming in mind. Now available to pre-order.
Looks good, it should hopefully satisfy the "elite" crowd. Too expensive for my taste though.
Good to have options but after spending 150 or whatever it was on the xbox elite controller and having felt like it was a waste of money, I'm not gonna drop 170 on this one lol
Out of the two they announced, this would be the one I'd get if I was to get one though.
Edit:
Wait this isn't the one I was thinking of. Got confused with the raiju which costs 170 ( and is the one I would choose).
This is by Nacon, not Sony, it's another "elite" controller from a third party. Still too much money for a controller.
Yeah this is from Nacon but it is licensed by SONY. So that means its an official product.
I'd rather just get a Scuf. At least they are official DS4 controllers. This thing is fugly.
@NiteX It's definitely not as ugly as this thing. Also I've said before I wouldn't ever buy one of these "pro" controllers. They are a waste of money. I'm just saying Scuf is more aesthetically pleasing.
I think the one by razer looks better imo. This would be my choice
http://www.razerzone.com/gb...
I agree with FITgamer, I think the Skuf Infinity looks better. I do like some things about this one, such as the D-pad and analogue stick placements. What's the price difference between the two?
It looks like it has most features, except the lights on it so it can't be used with PSVR?
Wasn't it only $100 or am I mistaken. My friends have spent almost $500 each on Scuff controllers for different games.
Wish Sony had just partnered with Scuf! This would have rivaled both MS's elite and their a ability to customize as you can get Scuf game-themed controllers etc. Also, they are basically a regular PS4 controller modded, and I live my PS4 controller. I don't want the design changed or it made to feel like an Xbox controller. I like their controllers but not as much as DS4, much, much more than DS3.
Though these are cheaper.
Does real pro-gamers use the controller and feel its worth it? Maybe?
I always wanted Sony and other companies to have multiple options in controller departments, one for everyone is not a good idea, we should have controllers designed specifically for kids small hands, and then have an option for grown ups, then for grown ups with large hands (not my problem, but I read about it on internet hundred times people complain about sizes, lol ) then controllers for pro players with ability to tune and improve it if possible, and why not to create something similar to PC laser mouse precision, Im sure it would not split user base or anything, for example some players in BF1 online playing with controller like a pro beasts, while others can be at the last place with a mouse... each gamer is unique and has its own play style and knowledge about gaming in general, not to mention reaction times, orientation in 3D space, memory, and kids playing doing random stuff etc... so what I mean is online is already very unfair, just like real life the one who bites first, eats first!! So hope to see some variation and evolution of controllers, make them best and most precise!
You're totally right. It needs to match your handbag and scarf in order to be beneficial. I mean what would my friends think if i had this controller in my hands and they seen me. Who cares how it performs or feels. It needs to look amazing first considering i spend most of my time looking at the TV. So when i do look at it, it should look fresh and of the charts.
I have lots of PS4 controllers, I'm not a pro gamer and I'm not spending that kind of money on a ugly controller.
@Utalkin2me - It's an expensive controller, granted the looks don't effect the performance but they're still an intrinsic part of the design if they actually want it to sell. When you're paying a premium price you expect all bases to be covered.
It won't satisfy as it isn't made by Sony. It's just another 3rd party peripheral. I'd choose the Razor Raiju if i was forced to pick, but i'll stick with my Sony made DS4. Not a fan of offset analog sticks. The D pad looks like a downgrade. The new DS4 is better for VR with a light on the touchpad.
For the type of money these 3rd party controllers are costing i'd rather buy the Sony platinum headset.
Sony apprives offcial Xbox designed like controller. XBOX controller is just much better than PS4 controller esepcially for Shooters and Racing genre.
in your opinion,
i personally prefer the symmetrical twin joystick set up if im having to use my controller for racing games. never having to touch the face buttons or dpad. index fingers on teh triggers, thumbs on the joysticks.
Symmetrical, the way it should be
Yep and thats why I won't be buying it. Can't stand the analog stick layout and it's super ugly.
Me neither. I have been using Dualshock for a long time and I have no problem with the layout. No one had even when Xbox began to be a thing. All these people suddenly saying that off set is better and bla bla are just stupid fanboys. No placement is better than the other.
Granted this is a third party thing. PlayStation should not adopt this design. It doesn't belong here
Yeah, my thumbs are in the same location on both hands, so I want my sticks in the same location on each side of the controller.
I don't mind the analog stick layout, but I am probably one of the very few who prefers the slimmer/smaller body of the PS4 over the Xbox controllers. Having said that, I don't think it's feasible to create an 'elite' style controller in the form of the standard DS4, though.
@NerdyNinjaHugs: That it definitely is. My preference aside, this is great for people who want something different and don't like the standard controller.
Omg the "my thumbs are the same" excuse is the stupidest argument I've ever heard, I'm so sick of that.
I feel sorry for all of you people that can't point your thumbs in a slightly different direction.
You'll never get to play some great games like The God of War Series that requires one thumb on the left stick and the other on the face buttons for 95% of your playtime.
If you think that layout is better that's ok, but don't use an asinine reason like "symmetrical thumbs" to defend it.
On the topic of why this layout may be considered more "pro", it's just more versatile.
Try to use your right thumb to select something with the Dpad on a PS4 controller. Unless your thumb is twice normal length you can't without letting go of the controller entirely.
Being able to access the Dpad easily with either hand is the one huge advantage to the Xbox layout that I never see mentioned for some reason.
I manage fine with both layouts. I do agree the thumbs are naturally placed on the DS4 layout, personally I am used to both because since the PS1 days I (don't know why I did, it like just *happened*) used the dpad on the DS1 to move, so am familiar with both layouts and hand positioning. But imo definitely I would prefer a Sony 'elite' controller to use the analog DS4 layout as that is what I am now familiar with when playing PlayStation games.
@unholy
Try this, use your left thumb to press the d-pad instead. Its alo easier than reaching over the controller. Not saying how you play is wrong, but may want to try this style out. Alot of people seem to prefer it.
Left thum presses d -pad and left joystick. Right thumb is for facebuttons and right joystick.
Throwing that on the table, take it or leave it
lol you missed the point, Golby.
Of course I can and DO use my left thumb on the Dpad. Sometimes. It depends on what I'm doing and which thumb I don't want to take away from it's current task.
The point is it works both ways, allowing you access without interrupting another action.
I'm not saying it's the end-all be-all of gaming, but it makes a difference, and you'd be surprised how hard it is to give up once you're used to it.
@Goldby
unholy brings up a very good point.
let me break it down a bit because it's something I noticed too and it does not come up often.
what he is talking about is in some games, I would say fps and tps games mostly, if you are in the heat of action you want that thumb on the left stick at all times. in a game where you have certain functions mapped to the dpad, LIke switching weapns as a good example. if you are running and can't find the cover to make the switch and don't want to stop moving, you can keep moving in x or y direction and still use your right humb to hit the dpad.
with the ps4 standard layout thats almost impossible. you can only reach the dpad with the left thumb and that always means taking it off the stick.
Granted it is a very situational thing, prob not a lot of people that use it that way and if you have mostly been gaming with a ps controller it may not even occur to you to do that.
Sorry, not almost impossible. Just use your right Thumb on the left joystick, and use your lrft thumb on dpad. Or for fps jump and use the dpad. Or map the weapons or items to down or right on the dpad.
Ive gamed since ps1 days, and never had an issue with where the dpad is currently. Afterall it isnt used as often as the joystick and at the end of the day, you mayjusthave slower motor skills than others. Its not a problem that requires a remodel. It exists for choice but to use your reasons as to why its good. Nope
Oh c'mon now. lol
Use your right thumb on the left stick instead?? I can't believe you even said that. :D
Like dark witness said, if you haven't used an Xbox controller for any period of time this probably never occurred to you, or seems inconsequential. Trust me when I say it isn't. It makes the controller and your options far more versatile. It has nothing to do with having slower motor skills, either. lol
It's just one of things you don't realize how much you use it until you CAN'T use it anymore. It's one of reasons I've hated PS controllers for 15 years.
@unholy.
"Oh c'mon now. lol
Use your right thumb on the left stick instead?? I can't believe you even said that. :D "
you just said you use your right tumb for the dpad on teh left, in the exact same spot the joystick would be. if you can use your thumb for the dpad, guess what u can use your thumb for the joystick too. i do some times, most cases i think ahead and map the more important ones to my down and right dpad buttons.
whats the difference between using your right thumb to press a button or use a joystick on the left side. nothing.
If you are running forward and desperately need to press a d-pad button there are many options. including the ones i have stated, as well as quickly pressing the dpad button you want while u are paused for a second. or while you are running, use your right thumb to keep that joystick forward while your left thumb can press all those dpad buttons.
All this talk of digit-based gymnastics and I'm sitting here wondering why people worry about taking less than half a second to use the dpad when 99.9999% of the time doing that won't cause you to die or fail since games are designed with use of the left thumb moving between the joystick and dpad.
well there's a lot of Xbox 360 owners who switched to the PS4, BUT still prefers the layout of the Xbox family controllers.
well a PS4 controller looks nothing like the Xbox One controller. Now the PS4 "elite" controller comes out and it looks exactly like an Xbox One controller. The now was more or less referring to a PS4 controller "now" looking like an Xbox One controller.
I prefer the offset analog sticks. Maybe it's my hand size or whatever but when I'm playing anything first person my thumbs always seem to work their way off the sticks. I don't have that problem with the Xbox controller.
I wish Sony would make their own though. The DS4 is still miles better than any pad they have made before
I was just about to type the same thing.
Looks very similar, well they do say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...
Not a fan of the d-pad or the stick placement especially for that price. My regular controller will do just fine.
Looks good, except for those analogue stick placements, that will be a bit of an awkward layout for users who primarily game with the DS design, maybe make the gamepad buttons/sticks interchangeable , I had a aftermarket ps2 controller like that and it worked great, still works
Actually both of the new controllers are officially licensed by Sony. Hopefully that means the quality is on par with a DS.
Sadly licensing really doesn't have much to do with better quality. Does mean it has to meet certain use test requirements, but based on experience I'm not sure that's really that stringent. The licensing mostly involves making sure that it is 100% compliant with the standards set forth for the standard control and input scheme as set forth by Sony, including making sure that it can perform all the same functions in perpetuity. As far as quality goes, I've had officially licensed products which were complete crap over the years....although have no idea the quality of this particular device.
one of the reasons I play forza horizon on pc is because of the possibility to play with the DS4
I didn't mean to say it was better, just that I got used to the button layout of the ps4 so much that I see no reason to buy this.
But thinking selflessly, this must be good for people that like the xbox controller and wish they could play ps4 games with the xbox layout. Just like I wished to play forza on a DS4 / Wheel, and now I can!
Yeah right. Froza on PC is best played with a Xbone controller because it one of the few PC games with impluse trigger support. You get nothing from Froza by playing it with a DS4.
I get nothing by playing third party games on my ps4 instead of my pc (that would run better) but I prefer to do so.
Just a matter of taste.
Whats wrong with getting an elite controller that has the DS4 design? If i wanna use an Xbox like pad Ill just play Xbox then...lol. Every controller that comes to PS looks and feels like the competitions. Its hilarious!
Give me a DS4 elite is that to much to ask for?
Because everybody knows its the better Design, that is why.
Just look what PC gamers use or look at the Nintendo pro Controller.
I like the small LED indicator, that would be enough instead of the big one on the normal DS4
Why that analogue and D-pad switch though? PS users are used to analogues at the bottom, face buttons and D-pad above.
..... I like the vinyl design on the analogues ..... yeah I'll just stick with the normal DS4. Besides, for 170 bucks? You crazy? I can get a brand new mouse and mechanic keyboard for that
I got so used to the Xbox One's impules triggers that I always forget that other controllers do not have them. Always feels weird when I'm using a 360 or a PS controller.
This looks x10 better than the Razer Raiju. I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Wait That stick configuration looks familiar & similar aspects of that design , where have I seen that done for almost 17 years now ........
Sony must be proving the water to see if those sell well so they can do a Official one.
Not likely. Their certification on them essentially means they are approving them without investing in them and that they have no intentions in investing in making multiple styled controllers anytime soon.
If the scuf controllers are compatible with the software then I'm just gonna send in my DS4
At least it's better priced than the Raiju and looks to be of similar build quality. Personally though, if the demand is there, I wished Sony just designed their own elite controller based on the DS4 design.
Actually really interested in the razor one,.. yeah not a big fan of xbox shape,.. but it seams very well build
I'll wait for a Sony version. Hate the joystick placement. Looks too much like an xbox controller.
Light years better than a dualshock, and actually fits in the hands. I don't know why Sony refuses to give people what they want. They don't want to segment the audience, but then they have officially licensed versions of exactly what people were asking for.
I agree with the part of Sony refusing to give what consumers want but not with regard to the joystick. The DualShock4 is perfectly fine and is what consumers want overall. Creating a licensed product is the way to give an option without targeting the audience.
The Dualshock is fine because it's what we've been used to since PlayStation was a thing. PS4 is the first time it's ever been updated, but not by much. There are far more ergonomic pads available. The grips are too short and narrow to fill my hands, and I get cramps after playing long enough. I can't say it's what consumers want since it's the only option that's ever been offered directly. But Looking at scuf sales, evil controllers, and now the Xbox Elite, there clearly is a market for what I look at as modern controller design, outside of the pro gamer market.
Just FYI, 'ergonomics' vary from one person to another, so let's not make definitive statements when it's all about preference.
This is aimed at your comment of "The Dualshock is fine because it's what we've been used to since PlayStation was a thing. PS4 is the first time it's ever been updated, but not by much. There are far more ergonomic pads available. The grips are too short and narrow to fill my hands, and I get cramps after playing long enough."
Personally, the blockier style of controller is just that, blocky for me and not anymore comfortable than the DS4. I don't get cramps from gaming on either, but I have issues accessing trigger buttons as quickly and easily as I do on the DS4.
Im fine with the standard controller.. I dont care for shooters that much and not sure ill like that dpad for fighting games.. Its a cool option for people though
so basically its an xbox one elite controller for PS4.... even has the stick placement offset which is interesting to see... is this a subtle admit to the dualshock stick placement being less than desired?
No. Its a third party perepheral using a simple marketing ploy to play on the misconception regurgitated in fanboy forums that offset is superior. Its not. Its just different. I wouldn't get it because sony didn't make the hardware, and i prefer the sticks in the right place.
It's the same controller from Nacon on PC, just for PS4. It's not even made by Sony. It's not admitting to anything.
Obviously controller manufacturers didn't get the notice from Apple, headset jacks are a thing of the past.
its funny this isnt getting bashed for pretty much looking like an x1 controller. But i forgot im on N4G. Where last year 360 reigned and then everyone jumped the wagon
How this, in anyway, ugly? It looks great. However, I don't see a US preorder option...
They finally went the Microsoft route, just confirms for me the next gen is to be boycotted and wait for the updated items.
Do you even hear yourself?! How much crap...it's a third party PC controller licensed to work with PS4.
Who is they?
Waiting for a reply, because you'll either realize why your comment is silly, or show that you are clueless. I wait with baited anticipation.
When Sony announced the Razer Raiju controller in October, in the VERY SAME BLOG this controller was announced in, is that Sony deciding to keep the same design?
Don't believe me?
https://blog.eu.playstation...
You're welcome.
Funny stuff huh? Sony gave some press to 2 third party "elite" controllers, which seem to give both options, and all they had to do was take in some licensing fees and write a blog post.
Maybe cut out the melodrama, and read past the headline...and even the article....because this is old news. Boycott if you want, but at least be informed before sharing your reasons.
Wow. not only did you not read the article, you didn't even read the entirety of my comment did you?
I even provided the source this article is written off of....the PS Blog. Where they announced two controllers from 3rd party. One, with the standard DS layout, and this one with the so called Xbox controller layout(which MS didn't invent BTW).
So again, who is they?
How is Sony using 3rd party to go the MS route when they have no real control over the design, and 3rd party offers up 2 different options. Xbox layout controllers are nothing new on PS consoles. They've been around even before Xbox was announced. I think we even had this discussion before, and I posted PC controllers with the so called "MS controller". Do you really need me to pull up more links to show that Sony just announced a couple licensed products....likely so they'd sell more, and so they'd receive more licensing fees.
But I guess at the very least, your reply shows you are simply clueless. So there is that, unless you wish to try and seem intelligent in another reply.
I just want the stock controllers to be of professional quality. You shouldn't have to pay extra to get something that won't wear down quickly.
People ridiculed it out of existence before trying it long before Sony ever had the chance to mass produce it.
Although Sony said it was never actually meant for mass production in the form it was shown in.
Not familiar with Nacon. Looks kind of meh but I'll buy it if it works better than my new Dual Shock 4 and gets reviewed well.
Microsoft gotta license a Dualshock 4 layout controller now just cuz the disrespect.
There are tons of "licensed" controllers. These people are just trying to get as many bites as possible. Sony is not making a elite controller so people are trying to fill the void. 3rd "officially licensed" elite PS4 controllers I've seen on n4g in the past year.
I don't like the analog sticks like that (like in the Xbox controller). Give me an option with an elite controller but with the analog sticks just like the regular controller. Also, I like wireless controllers better.
hmmm £89.99 for sure it does look good better then the razer version which cost more money.
its about time they release these in the north american market
as the uk has different controllers for sale
looks like an xbox controller. i'm fine with that as i prefer the xbox controller... just funny is all.
I'm sure if the analogue buttons had been adjacent to each other it would have got a far more favourable reception on here.
The bias is so obvious and so obviously sad lol
I still honestly don't like the analogue placement of Xbox controllers. I play so much better when my hands are in line with each other. Maybe it's just a matter of being used to it, but I've actually been debating getting an adapter so I can use my DS4 on my Xbone and just toss the Xbone controller. That being said, I see no point in this controller. I guess it'll please the "Xbox controller is better!" crowd, but DS4 will always be superior imo.
"The Revolution Pro is a newly announced PS4 and PS4 Pro controller that was specifically designed with competitive gaming in mind."
Competitive gaming? The atrocious d-pad says otherwise. It looks worse than the 360's d-pad.
Ugh, no. Dont bow down to the crooked thumbs crowd. Offset sticks suck.
Oh well, its fine to have options, I dont have to buy it. Some will like it. Just not me or my symmetrical hands.
Dont care for the layout, and its not a real Sony controller so no thanks. The stock controllee is pretty damn good anyway
They should not copy the XBOX 360 controller , not everyone want that layout...
Garbage controller, nothing beats the Xbox controller, it even has an elegant style unlike this crap.
Regular controller will do but that's a beautiful looking controller. Then it also has all the PS4 buttons and track pad. It's perfect. I really like it. I might get one if I can find a good price. It's ok for shooting games like BF and maybe for racing games the layout makes sense.
to tell you the truth this does look better than the original and i bet it won't feel like cheap plastic i do love my PS controllers but sony went cheap on the DS4 and i really dont like that
It's pretty good to have macro buttons, a shame it looks fugly chunky but as long as it functions I'm gud.
Ugh, why swap the d-pad and left stick? Not a fan of that (though I know some PS gamers prefer it, so I guess now they'll have an option), but everything else looks neat. Should make the hardcore competitive crowd happy.
Well it looks nice, not very playstation looking but as long as it gets the job done. Nice alternate for people who like this type of configuration for playing on ps4. The price is not so awesome but it's a premium piece of hardware, so the price makes sense.
This controller doesn't matter since everyone and their mothers are using the xim 4
My PS4 Pro is fine with the controllers it came with. For 111 dollars I can buy several games to play,a pass for me.
As far as I can tell, this controller lacks the light bar (and perhaps the motion sensing capabilities?), so it will be incompatible with a lot of games, including pretty much all PlayStation VR games.
Also, that stick placement and d-pad look horrible.
I do wish Sony would make their own official elite equivalent with full compatibility, standard PlayStation layout and decent d-pad, instead of just relying on these third party manufacturers to churn out half-baked products like this one.
1st thing 1st.
Is this a wireless controller? Because enough of these so called "Pro" $150+ pads that isn't even wireless. I know pro gamers use wired but us semi Pros need wireless.
The features sound great but I am not keep on the look at all, it loses the Playstation identity. Part of the beauty of the Xbox One Elite controller is that it still retains the original design, just re-worked.
I understand this is a third party rather than first but it would have been nice if they tried to keep it slightly more in check, it's a bit ugly!
This is not by Sony. It's third party. Looks too big. D pad looks horrible, and the price is far too high. Maybe it will surprise us and be a good product, but that price is too much.
Is this one of the two that were shown about a month ago, the Razr shown again a couple days ago. Wonder if they are better than the Scuff which range from $150- to $250?
I prefer the offset sticks of the X1 controller, but I play on PS4 75% of the time, so I may look into this. I absolutely love the X1 elite controller, and this looks to be in the same ballpark.

An officially licensed PS4 controller aimed at e-sports players is set to release this holiday season, it has today been confirmed.
There is no image of it, that image is of another controller that company makes. It's pure speculation it looks like that
it was a pc controller. speculating it will be similar as coming from the same designer , is not very hard thing to accept
sony said they did not create a pro controller because they did not want to divide the community with haves and have nots. makes no sense at all.
It looks like crap. Most likely it was for the PC.
@Dirtnapstor
Good eyes my friend. As I expected. Crappy PC controller.
Looks like a very, very poor knockoff of a XBox One control. What an ugly controller.
Oh wait, this isn't the actually controller? Why show it then? If they made this cheap knockoff of the XB1 controller, I can only imagine what the PS4 knockoff will look like.
PASS!!!
You haven't even seen the new controller lmao!
Looks the Elite controllers success has made others follow suit. Can't wait to see the new enhanced PS controller
Said it was aimed at esports players, not mass market like the elite was. Only reason I bring that up is I'm guessing it might not show up at your local gamestop and even if it does, it might cost an arm and a leg.
Yomfweeee
Ikr to spend 150 bucks for a controller you have to be a super hardcoregamer and (maybe wannabe) progamer. F
Paying even 60 bucks for a controller is almost too much imo.
It wasn't meant to be, but then it started selling out all over and MS had to up production. there were a whole bunch of articles about it.
LOL gotta love this site :) Second time I make joke and I get downvotes. I guess ;) works in Sweden but not outside :)
I also love the doublestandards as other (below) also speculate but get upvoted. Classic ! ;)
Dont worry about the downvotes, they don't matter now that the bubble system has gone. It's the spam and inappropriate ones you have to watch for
Make jokes(obvious or not) about PS4 and you get downvotes. Jokes about MS/X1 will get you upvotes.
@Kerppamaister
Correction, make jokes of the PS4 get downvotes.
Make jokes of Microsoft get upvotes but marked as spam and get suspended.
Actually,.. I am more hyped of potential price drop of regular dualshock4s,.. Got the Anniversary addition one though and so far so good,.. (the boxed one works perfectly,.. I actually love the feel of the rubber on the sticks more,.. but the cap on one of the sticks is a bit torn)
It's a 3rd party pad. It won't effect the price of the Dualshocks.
I've replaced the left stick on mine due to tearing. Pretty straight forward. Save a few £££ and give it a try.
Do anyone know if the pro is conna be much better with a normal non 4K TV?
Yes. Visuals and frame rates should be noticeably better. It won't be life changing but the difference should be clear as day, even on a 1080p TV.
No, it won't be "much better", it will be slightly better though. It is also at the discretion of the developer. Any old game will have to be patched to take advantage of the Pro so it depends on the developer if they will do that. All new games going forward will have a Pro mode to increase frame rate and visuals. Nothing about the gameplay will change from regular PS4 to Pro. It will only look a little better and smoother frame rate.
I also don't think these improvements will be carried to the multiplayer portion of games. I know the frame rates for multiplayer games will be locked regardless if you have the Pro.
Your decision to get a Pro or not really depends on how much of a graphics whore you are. If you want your PS4 games to look a little better, or you will be getting a HDR TV soon, or you are thinking of picking up PSVR....then get a Pro. If you just enjoy gaming then a bump in visuals is really not going to affect your enjoyment of the game.
I am sticking with the regular PS4 for now. I might upgrade once we know more about how the Pro will affect PSVR games.
The Pro will also increase the framerate, where the option is given on each game, just not for the Multiplayer portion in order to avoid Pro players having an advantage over OG PS4 players. It will have improved textures and effects in games like Tomb Raider too. As you say, 4k is NOT a requirement to see the benefits of the extra power, but when, down the line, more people get an HDR 4k TV, they’re in for a treat similar to the upgrade they’ll see from Pro on 1080p TVs all over again. I’m getting one and my TV doesn’t do HDR…yet!
Don't think I have ever owned a 3rd party pad. Unlikely this will be any different.
Oh look, there are no pictures of the controller!
(the controller pictured is just to show how a controller they also make looks like and that it might be similar, nothing is known about the looks of this PS4 controller)
Oh look, when I click on an article about a new controller. I click to see the controller and not read the article. I just wanted to see what it looked like but i did read the article now and they said the controller pictured was for PC that the PS4 controller may look like it. If it does. Oh look its an xbox cotroller lol.
Wired console controllers=useless.
I understand that there are some people who sit close enough to their display while gaming on the console. But this isn't 90s anymore. My TV is 65 inches and I sit 8-10 feet away. Thats too far for a wired controller.
Then this isn't the controller for you. It's marketed for Esports gamers. Wired is much more reliable for competitive play.
I stopped buying wired controllers after the first xbox. I have no intention of buying another one unless it's some kind of crazy double stick Steel Battalion controller. I'd get one of those no matter what if they made it.
They will be. There is no reason they would change the buttons and sticks. What would be the point of that? To confuse current PS4 players with a different controller scheme? It doesn't make sense. (By the way, the picture in the article is NOT the new controller).
Oh my god, the sticks are in slightly different positions. So confused LOL..There was a plethora of third party PS2 controllers that had sticks where they wanted to put them. There isn't some rule that has to be followed when designing your pad. Since Sony has taken a stronger stance with eSports, and that's what this controller is geared toward, it would actually make sense that they use the asymmetrical setup. Xbox has always had a bigger presence in eSports, and there were actually a lot of people vocally upset that PS4 is the new home for COD. A large part of those complaints is the controller.
i knew that the xbox design was the best controller design. thats why nintendo switch pro controller is looking like it. and now this. xbox 360 must be the best controller ever made.

It looks interesting.
I would be all over this if it werent for that damn d pad.. Also it should be usable wirelessly as an option imo
**EDIT** NVM... That price tag is too expensive for my liking too
Well i'm used to the design since I use an Hori FPS pad on my PS4. However importing to the U.S is a pain.
