... and it looks awesome

yeah.. its pretty slick... but it can be better, like launching from the xmb with your friends list. but the one thing I like about home.. is when someone is launching a game, there will be a controller icon above their head.. so you can go up to the person with controller above their head, hit x, and see what game they are trying to launch. there will be a group of around 5 or 6 people with controllers over their head.. and you can just walk up to them, hit x, and join their game. Its really slick at meeting new people and getting a group together to have a gaming session

think that all HOME is about is a second life, Sims, or an actual video game. I love how people come into these articles bashing HOME. The wii has little runing avatars and the 360 has them as well but that doesnt justify them to judge home. From what we can all see here, is an extremely useful launching feature after watching a movie or playing chess or even going to your 3d room to show off your trophies to fellow clan mates or anyone on your psn list that also downloaded HOME free.

Gamelaunching will be cool, but does this mean you can stay in home, and pop in/out disks while still in home?

Now the 360 fanboys won't be able to bi*ch anymore about the ps3 not being able to do this well. Home makes joining online games so much more efficient and simple. What I really love though is the potential this feature has to make joining online quick, you could just go up to a group of people and ask them to join your game and BOOM! you've 7 people in your game.

Factoid for you........PlayStation home is the biggest epic failing since trophies and that's was a friggin major catastropy but Home is like the killer app of catastrophes.

can you invite people into your house in the closed beta version? cause all the youtube videos its only 1 person in a house at a time.

since Home is still in the beta, how does that site post a vid..wonder if they are an official site or something.

Hey guys can someone explain to me what cross-game invites are exactly?

The one everybody is talking about in XBL.

I didn't know that you can set-up a game within Home, walk around, and then go into your game with everything in place.

I still don't get whats so amazing about cross-game invites!!!

I have a 360 and PS3 and I never find cross-game invites that great.

You still have to put in the other games disc, load it up, go through the menus and finally get in the game! Why not just send a PS3 message saying 'get on CoD4' and then send an invite?! Sure it is an extra step but it only takes like 10 seconds longer.

if your gaming friends can't always play online with you due to their own personal schedules, you'd have to rely on hooking up with random people when you select "quick match," or whatever instant action option online games have.

in HOME, you could at least have a "face to face" with those people, and sort of mete out who you'd like to play with based on conversations you have with them in HOME. if they aren't your type of gamer, you can simply move on, and if they ARE, then you can shoot the sh*t a bit about whatever your interests are, then go directly into your game.

like most of the trailers about HOME say; it's a social gaming network.

like Little Big Planet has "Play, Create, Share," i think HOME has a "Meet, Chat, Game," sort of mentality.

you and your friends, or random folks you meet in HOME, can get to know one another outside of the hurling of expletives at one another while playing together online, and maybe form some cool online friendships.

also, HOME is OPTIONAL, meaning you don't have to use it. all of the pertinent features that HOME is bringing will also be available on the XMB, so you don't have to use it if it's not your thing. HOME is an option for those that like that sort of thing.

i'm personally optimistic about it, although i don't play online much, so i'll probably just use to it wander around and play the arcade games there, and talk to random strangers about gaming, since me and my friend's working schedules often keep us from regular gaming sessions.

So are they going to replace the XMB, and when you turn on your PS3 you go straight into your apartment? Like for people who just want to stick to the XMB they can pull out the in-game PSP. And for people who want to connect with others just simply go online? Is that how the integration of HOME works?

On topic, i think the game launching is a great idea but it is quite slow and have been booted to the xmb menu/my ps3 has restarted because of it but i gues these will be patched after all it is the beta.

I am in the HOME beta and it took me 45 minutes to launch a game with two of my friends. In the end, one just had to go to sleep, and I launched it with just one friend of mine.

It kept freezing his system and all.

This LAUNCH thing needs to be fixed if its SUCH a big feature of HOME.

XBOX LIVE takes 5 seconds to invite someone in a lobby and launch a game with 16 friends of yours. Amazing.

But I do have to say, the options in HOME were quite nice for launching the game.

Seems a bit slow ending the game and switching back into home, hope they improve on this.

Tired of hearing all these things about HOME............Where is it?...when is it coming out? When is the public Beta?....

Maybe if I was in the beta I would be a little more patience........but come on Sony....The closet I've came to Home is downloading the theme from the PSN...........

It almost feels that HOME may not make it this year.......................... that would suck.....
