My random guess: Reedus is stranded in an afterlife type realm. His baby is partially existing in both this realm and the real world, and is transported back and forth via the tube machine. This is why the baby disappeared from Reedus' arms in the first trailer, then appeared in the tube in the second trailer. The baby is somehow the solution to free Reedus from this beach prison.

It looks to me like both Reedus and the Del Toro guy are stuck in the same world. I also think its the actual real world after some sort of apocalyptic war that has somehow killed most, if not all life on the planet.

The Reedus and Del Toro are "stranded" here. In a world where everything else has died.

Not sure what the baby disappearing is all about. I also don't think the baby teleported from person to person. In the Reedus trailer it turned invisible and you could see its handprints as it was clearly moving. In the Del Toro trailer we don't see the baby appear out of nowhere either. Del Toro plugs in the canister and a light inside turns on and you can see the baby inside. It looks very clear to me the baby was already in there when he plugged it in.

I'm pretty sure that the game is about time travel.

The dog tags on Reedus in the first trailer had some equations carved into them relating to black holes and quantum mechanics. This could tie into travelling between dimensions, or being stuck (or stranded) in a kind of purgatory.

I'm not sure they will do the time thing, but dimensions could be it.

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

Cool, as long as no one is losing their job while already rich people make more money.

Exactly this right here. Tools should never replace creators.

I feel that this is the position of every sensible person. However, we face two prominent issues:

1. There are nefarious actors (like Microsoft) who want to prohibit AI regulation. Some US states have some regulations in place, but it's very patchwork at best.

2. Without strict quality control and human review, AI is very likely to hallucinate in embarrassing ways.

Lol.... People are gonna be losing their jobs...

I’m all in favor for faster developed games.. that’s been the Achilles heel this gen.. taking 5+ years for development. If it can help with building vast landscapes then let it be. A win win if it doesn’t endanger the jobs of current team. They can help in other areas.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

H9203d ago

I don't doubt kojima that he has good intentions and would use AI without compromising the creative process, but you know for sure other development will say the same and have AI make the whole game for them.

Notellin202d ago (Edited 202d ago )

Yeah and whoever he works for or whatever AI models he chooses to use will train on his data and work to replace Kojima themselves.

I can't imagine any other creator in gaming that demands the salary size of Kojima.

What I wonder about, let’s say five years from now. Will an individual be able to make a triple A title using A.I…If so what would be the need for others? I hate to say it but eventually people will loose their jobs. Because I hear no talk about the ethics of using A.I. among the big companies.
