I'm really hoping this is true, I had a GameCube back in the day and loved playing every game. This would make the Switch for me!

Agreed in my personal opinion the GameCube is the last best software lineup That Nintendo has ever released with the exception of maybe Mario Kart Double Dash.

Almost all of my favorite Nintendo properties released on the GameCube with Smash Brothers Melee, Animal Crossing, Twilight Princess wind Waker my favorite Mario with sunshine, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door etc

This is actually why I'm excited about the switch because no more gimmicks just give us a solid software I feel every single time they've had a gimmick it's actually compromised the game.

With the exception of Animal Crossing new Leaf I have not felt positive about almost any release that they've had of those franchises after GameCube.

The Switch is a gimmick literally itself. Wtf was the gimmick on wii u its literally the samething. People like you make no sense.

@N4life

*sigh*
The Wii U makes use of two screens, TV and controller, at the same time.
The Switch is only one or the other; you can't use the Switch's screen and the TV at the same time.

The Wii U game pad, and by extension its screen, cannot be taken very far away from the system, unless you carry the system and a spare battery around in a backpack with the game pad.
The Switch screen IS the system, and can give you a home console experience no matter how far away from the TV dock you are.

The Wii U had very few big name third parties on board due to its power issues.
The Switch has many more third parties in its list of confirmed devs, as well as several sources saying its hardware shares architectural language with the other current systems, which makes porting easier.

How in the hell are they even remotely the same?
You need to rethink your stance. The only major thing the Switch and Wii U have in common is that they're made for home console games. That's it.

@nin- no.

What the portable is does not affect the game's designs.

The Wii U's gyroscope affected Star Fox Zero..

@wonder- correct.

As someone who owned a GameCube this sounds good. I just hope Nintendo doesn't put forth a half hearted effort.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit36d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing36d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9236d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
