For a lot of people, Yooka-Laylee is all about nostalgia. Playtonic’s new Kickstarter title is pretty much a carbon copy of the N64 Banjo-Kazooie games by Rare, and that is by no means a bad thing.
Play as Dik, a nimble acrobat exploring the depths of Hell to rescue his brother from the Devil’s hands. With no weapons to rely on, success hinges on mastery of physics-driven movement, and quick adaptation to deadly obstacles.

Hardcore Circus is an intense precision platformer inspired by Super Meat Boy, Jump King and Getting Over It, where you play as Dik, a skilled acrobat on a daring quest to rescue his brother from the grasp of the Devil.
Game Features:
- Momentum based movement
- Dismemberment - Dik can loose legs and can still continue to roll and jump, however if you loose your both hands you start over
- You don't have any weapon, but still can defeat bosses and dodge enemies with control of the environment
- Visit multiple different biomes with different physics (eg. Ocean, Cosmos)
- Face unique traversal and lethal obstacles like Rotating Gear, Portals, Saws, Cannons, Levers, Spikes, Trampolines, Air and Water Currents, Falling Ceiling, Gargoyles, Sharks and many more

We've had plenty of quality 3D platformers in recent times. Sly 4, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, Super Mario 3D Land, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, Tearaway, Super Mario 3D World, Sonic Generations, Ratchet & Clank '16, Grow Home & a whole lot others.
Next year we're getting a 3D Mario game, a 3D Sonic game, a Voodoo Vince remaster, Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane trilogy, A Hat in Time, Little Stealth Nightmares, as well as the aforementioned Yookah-Laylee.
The 3D plaforming genre is already alive and thriving. It just isn't as prominent as it was in earlier generations.
okay, lets chill on the over exaggeration here, alright? it's a fantastic platformer to be sure - 3d platformers have always been relevant, look at mario - kids love it even a lot of gamers grow out of them.
